On the Rams staff that year was a special teams coach named Dick Vermeil......who would lead the franchise (as the St. Louis Rams) to a SB championship exactly 30 years later. Very ironic. :-)
Went to every home game that season. A few years later I met Dick Enberg enjoying a hot dog at Danny's Dogs on Santa Monica Blvd in Hollywood. He was also the voice of the California Angels in baseball.
Great post this was the year I became Ram fan the Viking Loss still bothers me we were the better team and would have given the Chiefs all they could handle anyway great post Thanks 😀😀🏈🏈🏈
I hear you both and I’m a huge fan of Rams. I believed for so long Rams would have beaten Chiefs also. But Chiefs we’re big and talented. Vikes beat Rams twice that year and as I remember we’re just better. The what ifs in that playoff game were just that. Rams had no time to throw in both games. Refs didn’t help as after they called offsides on vikes on Ellers TD early every call went Vikes way after. Loved those Rams.
The Rams have no one to blame than themselves. They were 11-0 and had the Vikings at home no less and lost that game too. Having lost to the Vikings at home they should have made the necessary adjustments when they played them again in the playoffs--but they didn't.
It's damn Shame Rams couldn't hold lead and beat Vikings, the Rams would have beat the Chiefs in superbowl a better showing then the Vikings who got blown out,
Not really , the AFL was wide open football the outgoing NFL before the merger was 3 yards and a cloud of dust the Rams played the same way the Vikings did that year, nearly the same record
Hate to inform you of this & break your bubble, but the Rams did play the Chiefs in the preseason of 1969 at the LA Coliseum (the game was played on August 23, 1969) and the Chiefs demolished the Rams by a score of 42-14 (the Rams only loss in the 1969 preseason). Len Dawson passed for 418 yards that game. Merlin Olsen went on record saying that the physical beating the Rams took from the Chiefs was just as bad as the score.

Fifty-eight (58) Super Bowls have been played and at the conclusion of each the victorious team was NEVER the Minute Scrotum BiQueens!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAHAHAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHA

RIP Roman Gabriel. :-(
The Year I became a Ram fan this is priceless 🎉🎉
Yes !
I got you by 3 years
Fan since '66 when Allen started.
RIP Roman Gabriel
Man, those Vikings consistently had the Rams by the horns in those years.
They did finally beat them in 1978 in the playoffs 34-10
Cowboys and Vikings were always beating them when the games mattered the most between 1969 -79

Gabriel was my first football hero
It was THIS cold 18:17
Rams lived nearby. Game looked slower.
The vikings or cowboys everyear beat us. I hate both those teams. I became a rams fan in 1965. I was eight yrs old. I loved the helmets. Go rams
15 games in white jerseys it would have been great if they broke out the blue 💙🔵 ones for a game or two

Vikes beat the Ewes TWICE WITHIN 20 DAYS IN DECEMBER.

Preseason games are only tuneups, starters don't play long more then they play today, If Rams got in 1969 superbowl still believe they beat Chiefs
