Yes, t's pronounced as 'Gayto' in the dub for some reason, but it's 'Getoh' (as in 'get') in the sub and it's the correct way to pronounce his name. Remember, it's a Japanese name.
I watched the sub and I didn’t really get the impression that he was calling for Rika to help him against the bullies. It seems that, added with the context of his personality, he was calling Rika to stop her, same way we call people’s names when they’re doing something we don’t want.
Probably cause the sub, at least the one I watched, translates it as “Rika, Don’t.” Which clearly shows he’s trying to stop her rather then the bullies. It’s so weird that that the dub changed it to make it seem like he was calling for her help.
2:26 this is probs the first time I've seen this dubbed, and Yuta was not calling Rika, as in asking for help, he was trying to stop her, but in the dub it doesn't come across as such. 17:36 Yuta in the sub (and manga) says "to know that it's okay for me to live" which imo is different from "to know that I'm alive".
I don't usually comment but I really loved your reaction to the movie! You two are definitely my favorite reactors, I really love how in depth your disccussions are and how good you are at noticing the tiny details. This movie was a great introduction to Yuta, and even greater backstory for some of the characters we see in Season 1. I really look forward to your Season 2 reactions, particularly of the HIdden Inventory Arc!
The Panda line in the classroom is different in the Japanese VA, Instead Gojo introcudes them all then after saying nothing about why a panda is attending school Yuta says " Somehow he failed to give the explanation i really wanted". One of the my favorite moments cause i think it reminds me of how they initially explained Panda in season 1
50:10 When Geto said "the holy land of curses, Kyoto", this is not any fictional line, it is an actual historical event that Kyoto city was once literally a place filled with unsettled souls and demons, roaming around the city and devouring humans at night. That also explains why there are so many temples and shrines in Kyoto
Not sure if you guys remember, but in season one, when yuji and the others go to the juvenile prison, there's a scene where they find a dead guy who was apparently in prison for running over a little girp with his car. They don't specifically say it was Rika, but its an interesting tidbit
That's completely incorrect. He was in the juvenile detention center. Which means he's under the age of being in a regular prison. Even if we give him the age of 19 since 20 is most likely the cutoff point for juvenile detention then at most since Rika died 11 years before that specific mission took place he would have been around 8. When Rika was hit by that car a bystander said "a guy ran over a kid" which would indicate an adult seeing as how guy and kid were distinct words used to describe those involved. If you're gonna give out info then make sure it's correct. This isn't in the slightest
@@Spectre-x3dthey don't point it out cause it's incorrect. The person who made the original comment had the reason their info was wrong in it. They went to a JUVENILE detention center. Which means the people in there are under 20 years old. Rika died 11 years before that mission. You really think an 8 year old is out there driving cars around?
Hi I just realized you are sharing the same airpods (one pod each). If you're watchign on a mac, I would suggest using Audio MIDI to create a multi-output audio setting so you 2 can listen to more than one source of audio (2 pairs of airpods, or 2 headsets, or 1 airpods 1 headset). Me and my partner do this all the time when watching films.
So some small details that come from author notes and the Mangas side notes: The Yuta and Gojo distant relatives thing and then being related to this Suga guy from way back was something that was shoved in at the last second because the publisher or editor felt it should have some relation to a historic figure of some sort. So who better than a real life exorcist? Second, on Rika. She is not as sweet and innocent as she seems. Her parents both are dead and her grandparent that raised her is creeped out by her, believing she had some part in their deaths, as well as making herself sick to be able to see Yuta who always was in the hospital as a child. Which definitely tracks with how she acts as a curse And for a small details I don't like with the dub, Yuta and Getos final exchange of attacks when Yuta says he fights for love. In the sub, Geto says he fights for justice, rather than to win. It's a small thing that changes really nothing, since Geto still loses, but with justice as his motive it really puts light on why he's doing this. This is for the same reason he saved those two girls on his team, why his family loves him, he's trying to make a world that sorcerer's don't have to hide their power. The girls were caged in their village in the country after all, and as they say it may be a common thing in small places out of the greater public eye.
I loved this movie when I watched it for the first time and every rewatch from reactions I understand more things after watching the first five episodes from S2 which was right after I finished the movie, S2 was on episode 2 so I followed it week by week. I was wondering what were your thoughts on Geto's stitches and when we see your reaction it will be quite interesting. I wondered just the same and I thought that maybe he was rescue by his "family" and they used the Reverse Curse to save his life.
Pretty sure you guys have seen Gojo teleport a couple times. Also yes it's OP and the author just said there's "restrictions" to it but he doesnt elaborate on it because he doesnt want to lol

@@colt1903 sure sure, I just mean like there's times in the manga he could've used it but didn't and I'm pretty sure there was an after chapter comment by the author where he said basically what I said but made it look like a cop out answer on purpose with a little drawing and a "Don't ask, okay!?" Or something to that effect. I might be imagining things.
1:26:57 by now, you should already know on what side Satoru and Suguru fall on when it comes to that. Suguru lets go, Satoru holds on. That's just who they are.
YUTA´S VOICE IN DUBS IS SH*T WHEN IT COMES TO SOUND "ANGRY" IN THE LAST FIGHT WITH GETOU, TOO MONOTONE. I COULD NOT TAKE HIM SERIOUSLY DURING THAT SCENES XD.
"How is he contending" Yuta went through a whole manga worth of Shonen protagonist development in the span of 4 chapters or one movie. Its basically like watching Yuji at chapter 1 vs Yuji at the end of the story but in condensed form. It's only condensed for us though, that was basically an entire school year for Yuta. The council thing has always been so interesting to me, I wish we knew more about their motivations. Are they pushing so much because they think they have the power to stop Gojo if it comes down to it, or do they rely on Gojo's moral guidelines to preserve themselves? Or is it just inertia? Like, the council has been in charge for generations so they can't imagine that changing even though they have no power to control Gojo. I'm guessing they're at least somewhat aware of how hard it would be to fight Gojo considering they keep agreeing with his decisions in the end, and even when they disagree, it's not publicly but through underhanded means, by making it look like "accidents". But maybe they really think they could handle him and just don't want to lose the firepower that comes with him.
the higher ups have objectively speaking a zero percent chance of handling gojo in any shape or form. It's just like gojo said, murdering anyone in the higher ups is easy for him. That's why they keep listening to gojo whenever he says something because they cant force him to change his mind.
@@Arkayjiya we do, it’s been confirmed it’s cuz they can’t oppose him so they have no choice. Why do you think yuji is able to walk around in season 1 and 2? I find it interesting that gojo says love is the most twisted curse of all from personal experience, and the focus on him and geto at the end where gojo kills him, its certainly up for interpretation considering gojos last words to geto were censored but when i first watched this movie i felt that the over arching themes of love, tragedy and acceptance applies to more than just yuta and rika, but whether gojo and getos love was simply platonic or more is deliberately vague
1:08:23 the martial arts style that Gojo is using against Miguel here is called Wing Chun. Its all about close quarters and centering everything on what they call a center-line which is the neck, chest, belly and groin areas. As you could see when gojo was using it he uses very rapid punches centered around that area to be as efficient as possible in taking him down quickly. He also holds his elbows close to his body so his hands can not only strike quickly but also block if needed. Bigger swings would cause him to become open to counters so by keeping his arms in general close to his body he's limiting the chance of that while being able to strike quickly
@@samulrdit's a common misconception that Sukuna is a cursed spirit which actually isn't the case. I love the movie. I m so happy are watching season 2. Hidden Inventory is my favorite. We get to see Geto and Gojos backstory. I love those two as a pair.
42:12 to clear it up once and for all, "Geto" is pronounced "Geh-to" like the word "get" with an "o" added at the end. His name in hiragana is written "げと" the first character being "Ge" the second being "to". The people in the comment section who were mistakenly telling you it was pronounced "gay-to" are likely just also dub watchers because for whatever reason, the english dub often also pronounces it "gay-to". It's actually kinda weird that it ended up like that since usually when there's pronunciation differences between the versions, it's done in the service of localization; making something sound more natural in English (for example, japanese tapped "r" sounds get dropped almost always), but in this case they just straight up mispronounced the name and I'm not sure why. Either way this is just some fun trivia I suppose, I don't think anyone would fault you for pronouncing it however you want going forward since I think you'll be most likely hearing it as "gay-to" from the dub anyway.
I would believe that line of thinking if it wasn't for the fact that Gojo says it correctly when he first mentions Geto around halfway into the movie. Then a few minutes later when Geto is properly shown the old guy comes in saying it incorrectly. So the dub is inconsistent in the pronunciation of it
Experience is a great teacher and given Gojo's goals which he mentions back in like episode 5 or 6 he wants to raise a generation of students who are strong and reliable. He needs them to be at least as strong as he is so he can change the Jujutsu society which is why he's willing to throw students into danger and leave them alone so he can test their mettle. Both times he's done it they've turned out great.
I saw people in the comment discussing the dub and sub at the moment of Geto fighting. “I fight to win” vs “I fight for justice” At this point what Geto says is “たぎだ” which closes translation would be “for a good cause” or “for a great cause” this, I would say that given the context we have about geto’s motive, “justice” is the more accurate. Also, I wanted to added that 儀 is a kanji that by itself represents “ righteousness, justice, morality, honor, loyalty, meaning”
Also, just scrolled theough the channel, and I'm surprised that ya'll just showed up for me today! I believe it is more than appropriate to sub right now. I look forward to binging the old playlists and seeing what ya'll bring out tomorrow!
the dub is pretty good but in this movie two big lines were altered. geto's i fight to win which was originally i fight for justice, and gojo's my best friend, the only friend i had really originally being my best friend, my one and only. hidden inventory shows geto wasn't his only friend (only saying this because they're up to date on patreon) but gojo placed so much importance on him because he was the only one who could match him (talent/skill wise, but also he was the only one who challenged gojo's mentality). as a big fan of the manga, the translations from the original japanese don't always capture the feelings gege manages to get across, and it's such a fun rabbit hole to go down and find out the messages the translations/dubs miss. jjk is really phenomenal
Yuta is 1 of the only 4 special grades sorcerer . Gojo being another . but Gojo is even special among special grades . Special grades can call themselves the strongest like by a huge margin.
Fun fact, though I'm certain you've already been told, the Black Rope that Miguel uses to fight Gojo is one of only two weapons in the JJK world that can bypass Limitless. The second is the Inverted Spear of Heaven which Toji uses in his fights with Gojo in Season 2. So Miguel would actually be able to beat Gojo, and the only two reasons he didn't is that his job was to distract Gojo, not beat him, and also because Gojo is busted even without his Infinity Barrier protecting him. He is The Strongest BECAUSE he is Gojo Satoru, after all.😂
so im not sure why they pronounce it gaito in the dub, but fun fact, vowels are always pronounced the same in japanese, so you were correct, it is pronounced “ghetto”. its odd that a dubbing company wouldnt know that 😅

Yes, t's pronounced as 'Gayto' in the dub for some reason, but it's 'Getoh' (as in 'get') in the sub and it's the correct way to pronounce his name. Remember, it's a Japanese name.
Not only that but Gojo says it correctly earlier in the movie but they didn't hear it since they were talking
In the Sub Mahito clearly calls Geto (Gay-to), so it's more a person to person thing. Both are correct.
17:36 Yuta in the sub (and manga) says "to know that it's okay for me to live" which imo is different from "to know that I'm alive".
a lot of lines were changed it seems
Yeah sub Yuta goes way harder, especially when he calls out rika against geto
@@Alexchamplooo Agreed!

Actually the last of gojo was "he was my best friend the only one I had" so yeah gojo have friends but the only best friend he had was geto
Peak movie reaction incoming 🔥🔥
I agree with you here is amzing movie l love yutu and Reika here
Eh, it's the dub, so not quite. Would have preferred the sub, if only cuz the translation is better than the en dubs script, but whatever.
Reminder that Yuta first arrived at Jujutsu academy and introduced to giant talking Panda with no explanation 😂
Yeah Gojo isn't the greatest st explaining anything at all 😂
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE!!!!!
this jjk movie so poetic
Im actually really curious about the opinion of the JJK 0 reader opinions on where these show/Manga is going compared to when they first read it.
50:10 When Geto said "the holy land of curses, Kyoto", this is not any fictional line, it is an actual historical event that Kyoto city was once literally a place filled with unsettled souls and demons, roaming around the city and devouring humans at night. That also explains why there are so many temples and shrines in Kyoto
the Utah and gay-toe fight is still my favourite ❤️🙏
It's always yuji vs yuta for protagonist, but I would have loved a Maki-centric show too. She's really the deku of the jjk universe
Not sure if you guys remember, but in season one, when yuji and the others go to the juvenile prison, there's a scene where they find a dead guy who was apparently in prison for running over a little girp with his car. They don't specifically say it was Rika, but its an interesting tidbit
Yesss not many people point it out
He's in juvenile tho so he would be way too young. So he would be a child too
Rika died 11 years before that mission, and Tadashi was at most 19, I find it hard to believe an 8 year old would be driving.
So some small details that come from author notes and the Mangas side notes:
The Yuta and Gojo distant relatives thing and then being related to this Suga guy from way back was something that was shoved in at the last second because the publisher or editor felt it should have some relation to a historic figure of some sort.
Which definitely tracks with how she acts as a curse
And for a small details I don't like with the dub, Yuta and Getos final exchange of attacks when Yuta says he fights for love.
Rika did not make herself sick, she was in the hospital after being found bc she went missing for a week in a mountain.
Geto used a curse to reduce damage from the yuta black flash if you look closely you can see it
1:30:20 I wonder how Kenny must've reacted after finding out how close he was to what actually happened to Geto☠️😭
Needed a Montana genius counter for Rika’s origins right at the beginning of the movie
“We know he’s not ever gonna die in this fight” 😂👀 S2 here we come
I loved this movie when I watched it for the first time and every rewatch from reactions I understand more things after watching the first five episodes from S2 which was right after I finished the movie, S2 was on episode 2 so I followed it week by week.
Well, it's an application of Blue, and he needs to make that hand sign where he puts his hands together fore it to work. Aside from that, we know nothing.
@@colt1903 Well sometimes he just doesn't use the hand sign also lol😂
@@colt1903 sure sure, I just mean like there's times in the manga he could've used it but didn't and I'm pretty sure there was an after chapter comment by the author where he said basically what I said but made it look like a cop out answer on purpose with a little drawing and a "Don't ask, okay!?" Or something to that effect. I might be imagining things.

YUTA´S VOICE IN DUBS IS SH*T WHEN IT COMES TO SOUND "ANGRY" IN THE LAST FIGHT WITH GETOU, TOO MONOTONE. I COULD NOT TAKE HIM SERIOUSLY DURING THAT SCENES XD.
Yuta was originally supposed to be the original main character.
Great reaction. I'm so glad ya'll enjoyed wrapping yourselves with cursed energy.
Hidden inventory is here boys it's time
"How is he contending" Yuta went through a whole manga worth of Shonen protagonist development in the span of 4 chapters or one movie.
@@farsous10 We don't actually know why they let him do what he does, that's just speculation.
@@Arkayjiya we do, it’s been confirmed it’s cuz they can’t oppose him so they have no choice. Why do you think yuji is able to walk around in season 1 and 2? It’s cuz gojo said he can, so what’re the higher ups gonna do? Nothing, and knowing the events of season 2, we see how the higher ups reacted to yuji after gojo
Absolutely love this movie so much, was such an experience in the cinema, loved the reaction!
1:10:32 amazing detail here that most people miss: Look closely. Geto avoided direct impact with the black flash by blocking it with a curse at the last second
My man speaking like Frieza out here calling everyone a monkey boy wildin
The only reason why Yuta won against geto was because half of his curse's are fighting somwhere elese
current yuta dogwalks prime geto.

@@numberonechannel2632 no they don't... Kenny said yuta (jjk 0) would have lost to geto, but current yuta (culling games+) is mid diffing Geto
@@ajgamer1414mid diffing geto? You do realize not only does yuta have even more of a grasp on handling his cursed energy and his copy cursed technique but he also has a domain expansion also? The culling game version of Yuta bodies jjk 0 geto so much he negative diffs him. Even if geto was at full power. Toji bodied geto and he has no cursed energy. So Yuta would destroy him no question
1:18:02 the whole movie showing bit by bit that geto and gojo are friend
Kenny:😀are they friend
😂😂
Bro when this came out on the big screen, the theater was so loud because of the hype
Gojo has stated that Yuta is one of few Special Grades that will surpass him.
one of the times gojo is wrong as well
I’m sorry but Kenny saying GAY TOES💀💀💀💀
fun fact, rika is the strongest cursed spirit ever
Stronger than Sukuna tho?

13:25 I mean how else are you gonna learn, gojo killing every curse won't help anyone improve especially when most animes near death situations can benefit a fighter
I love the movie. I m so happy are watching season 2. Hidden Inventory is my favorite. We get to see Geto and Gojos backstory. I love those two as a pair.
There's information about Rika's life prior to her death. She wasn't exaggerating when she said her six years with Yuta were the best of her life.
I think the reason the dub says "Gay-to" is probably because the original sound like they're saying Ghetto
@@JohnVe108 Yeah that's totally plausible, I could see that
I would believe that line of thinking if it wasn't for the fact that Gojo says it correctly when he first mentions Geto around halfway into the movie. Then a few minutes later when Geto is properly shown the old guy comes in saying it incorrectly. So the dub is inconsistent in the pronunciation of it
@@darknesswave100 What are you talking about?
Experience is a great teacher and given Gojo's goals which he mentions back in like episode 5 or 6 he wants to raise a generation of students who are strong and reliable. He needs them to be at least as strong as he is so he can change the Jujutsu society which is why he's willing to throw students into danger and leave them alone so he can test their mettle. Both times he's done it they've turned out great.

missed the best similar names in the series: JOGO and GOJO
Ah the gay lovers (satoru and Suguru)
I saw people in the comment discussing the dub and sub at the moment of Geto fighting.
“I fight to win” vs “I fight for justice”
At this point what Geto says is “たぎだ” which closes translation would be “for a good cause” or “for a great cause” this, I would say that given the context we have about geto’s motive, “justice” is the more accurate.
Also, I wanted to added that 儀 is a kanji that by itself represents “ righteousness, justice, morality, honor, loyalty, meaning”
Yuta technique is copy and paste that how he was able to use cursed speech
Yuta can copy and use any technique except gojo satro.
He can copy Limitless he just can't copy the Six Eyes bc it's not a technique.

I love your channel so much! I was wondering if we might be getting a reaction to The Dragon Prince in the future?
Can't wait for the Shibuya arc reaction
the dub is pretty good but in this movie two big lines were altered. geto's i fight to win which was originally i fight for justice, and gojo's my best friend, the only friend i had really originally being my best friend, my one and only. hidden inventory shows geto wasn't his only friend (only saying this because they're up to date on patreon) but gojo placed so much importance on him because he was the only one who could match him (talent/skill wise, but also he was the only one who challenged gojo's mentality). as a big fan of the manga, the translations from the original japanese don't always capture the feelings gege manages to get across, and it's such a fun rabbit hole to go down and find out the messages the translations/dubs miss. jjk is really phenomenal
Yuta is 1 of the only 4 special grades sorcerer . Gojo being another . but Gojo is even special among special grades .

He is The Strongest BECAUSE he is Gojo Satoru, after all.😂
the curse tool can't beat him, it can just get through infinity. Theres a difference between being able to defeat him and get through infinity
Yes MY GOAT is here
