- In this session I did 180kg bench press x 2 sets of 5 reps as a warm up, followed by 140kg log press x 2 sets of 3 reps. I followed this up with some rows and pull downs with an explanation of my push : pull ratio of 1:1 to achieve structural balance in my upper body which is so important for healthy and strong shoulders.

Yes, finally a tutorial/training video! Podcasts are great, but these are even better.
keep up the training vids please, such good content!
Great to see you back on RUclips bro!
With all that gear during the log press, Bas is the best looking powerlifter I have ever seen, lol.
Also, it's great to see you back, buddy! I love this channel.
Joe Sheppard 🤣🤣🤣🙏🏼
Great content. Will be watching a lot more. Brilliant.
Keep up the vids, super informative
Great vid, thankyou
Please show us your squat warmup. Thank you very much
Bas keep posting!
Bas, another quick question. Do you think it would be unnecessary to do both DB incline bench and seated DB press in the same session? Would just one of those do the trick? Thanks for your help!
Hey Sebastian, when you say that with lat pull downs that the upper back responds better to high rep ranges does that apply to everybody or will some respond better possibly to low rep ranges?
for example you said that it will be a great carry over to log press due to keeping the upper back tight and strong and using the lat contraction as your standing to keep the weight in place as you rise up and it naturally comes with you, wouldn't this carryover be better if you where training heavy and why is it that it responds better to high rep ranges
Would I be able to generate the same effect (healthy and balanced shoulders, etc.) doing the rowing movements on a different day/session, or must it be done in the same session as the pushing work?
Dr. Bacon yes definitely. As long as it’s done within the same training week 😊
Australian Strength Coach thanks coach 🤙🏻
It looks like you are benching kind of back to back, without a little pause between reps. My coach always gives me shit for doing this on compound movements (general strength training, not powerlifting specific). Do you have any reasoning for when to do reps of compound movements more controlled, separated with little pauses or banging them out in quick succession?
Would you recommend adding a Swiss/Football bar as a bench variation?
Hairul Aidil sure 😊
So would your next upper day have more bench volume? And perhaps a different overhead variation?
You have unreal bench power considering only 2 sets done here and you bench 2 x a week.
CARL SLATER yes I generally like to do a high volume day and a low volume day. This is as a low volume day and I’ll be doing dumbbell shoulder press instead of log on the next session 😊
Do u do personal training Bas???
do you have a podcast ?
Bas, you gotta do some cardio brother haha
Kendall thompson that’s true 😖
Is that a Watson log?
looking thiccc bro
