      Yeah got a great chance at it if he gets the green light like he did at gsw. His career down season this year was still higher than the league average and ended up 4th highest made 3's. The year before lead the league in 3's and wasn't even his most efficient season. Hard to out shoot Curry tho.

      Yeah he's not an all defensive team caliber defender but hes not bad and a down year was him shooting 39% when they weren't running plays for him. When he's got actions with Kyrie and Luka while the other is on the bench they are gonna run a lot of those screen actions to free him up to keep him engaged. I think early there will be some struggles but by Christmas I expect this to look like a top 3 seed in the west. OKC, Denver and Minnesota all still look like contenders so a top seed is far from assured since we turned over more than any of those.

    Jesus Christ the stupidity by the guy on the right. THJ who is 33 was traded for Grimes who’s 24 which is Josh Greens replacement who is also 24, swapped out DJJ who is 27 for Naji who is 26 and traded Josh Green for Klay who is 34 they literally got younger and better in 2 of the swaps and Klay is miles better then THJ. The mental gymnastics this guy tried to do like the Mavs just traded all their youth is hysterical. There are only 3 guys on the roster who are over 30 who get playing time Kyrie, Klay & Maxi ( which I’m expecting them to trade now due to Omax the guy they drafted last year ) the rest of the roster is 26 years old and under.

    This is one of the few Klay trade breakdowns ive seen that actually runs through the risk factors eloquently. Yes Klay will fit in to their OFFENSE seamlessly in theory, but he will need to be excellent in a new role at his age and general decline. You also are admittedly giving up defense for offense if your the mavs on a team that just had a title run based on the defense making huge strides. It's a risk no matter how you cut it. Could pay off, may blow up in their face... This is the first podcast ive really heard at least from the big market players that puts it in to proper perspective.
    Wishing Klay the best, I can see why it could work out very well, I just think in todays NBA you need ELITE wind defense to truly contend and there is no way around the fact that they just got worse there - and this is a team that already had some big wing defense question marks to begin with.

    • @aaroneisenman6873

      I think the defense is kinda overblown. The worst-case scenario is Klay becomes THJ 2.0. Can't hit the broad side of a barn, and is a cone on defense. Klay loses his starting spot and is relegated to garbage time. Dallas literally just went to the finals with him on the team.
      Best case scenario Klay shoots 40+% from 3, and plays good defense.
      I mean where is the down side?

    I disagree with one particular point you made. I don't think it WAS a savy move by LeBron to broadcast to the world that he was willing to take a pay cut. Most of us are skeptical when someone tells us they're doing a good thing, and the amount of hate LeBron is getting for it now is testament to that. Now if he's told Rob Pelinka and the Lakers that he was willing, but told them to keep it on the Downlow, then it got leaked out at a later point, he'd have been a hero either way. But because he told us all BEFORE, now he just comes across as trying to make himself look good, and not even coming up with the goods in the end. So now him and Rob both look bad. Just sayin.

    Klay and whatever other dudes the mavs brought in are not making a difference for that team. They were good in the second half of last season because they played D and their starting group will be much worse on that end this season. They're not finishing atop the West but you can't count them out of making it through, but they're not beating the Celtics

    Trade Kuminga for Markkenen. Four 1st-round picks are not much if you compete and fill the seats another four years. The Warriors own their stadium. They have to let Ainge bend them over.

    • @SquidysTents
      @SquidysTents 5 месяцев назад +1

      To be fair, I don’t think 4 picks are enough even with Kuminga. Ainge made it sound like he wanted at least 5 picks since that’s what Bridges went for. But I guess it depends just how badly he wants to trade Lauri Markannen. I personally don’t think it’s a bad idea though

Gave pay cuts too poole/wiggins Stall extensions green/kerr none klay/myers. Last summer trade poole & 1st for cp0. Planned 70+mil expirings. As far as the owner finances. Why should he or any other owner pay 100’s of millions dollars in penalties. Cals are only for owners. One more championship Steph.
