Petra was "ok" to me until John joined. It took the group to a whole new level! Amazing
Petra truly was the greatest Christian rock band of all time
Although not the original lead vocal...John Schlitt is the voice of Petra...
Nope he and Greg are both the voices of Petra. John's stint was just much longer. Love both vocalists.

I am reunited my "Christian Rock" somehow with all of my moves, I lost my petra tapes. I found them again and I am getting them on vinyl! My Keith Green and Petra were a mainstay for me in the early 80's. I also had a record of synth band Crumbacker - God truly gave Rock N' Roll to us!
This man is a Great Fabulous Singer back in the day of Head East and Petra . God has Blessed him so very much. Keep up the amazing work.

I love John's voice, but I'll always be partial to Greg X. Volz. Maybe that means I'm old.
Greg Voltz had more of a range and wasnt as raspy even though i like Johns voice. No one and i repeat no one can sing Judas Kiss like Greg Voltz
He's lead in a ton of great songs

1/ Oh my God means something different to Christians than non. 2/ the old adage we aint perfect yet just forgiven.- and we are the children of God - children do make mistakes we expect that we can come to the lord asking his forgiveness and will receive it. Its not a term I use or encourage but some do their choice as the bible says we are all accountable for our actions ... good and bad we will stand before the Lord and give account and judgement starts with the house - but if we have committed our lives to Christ then we get acquitted. yes it is a religion of control as petra sings in one of their songs it is giving up control of self and giving it to God to live a better way,,,, better than being self controlled or out of control. It's sad to hear you have been abused with Death of Mind B.s. funny that's not what Jesus was about
