We're hoping to find more rare star notes, any valuable old bills, or any fancy or cool serial numbers in these circulated stacks of bills.
I hope you enjoy this bit of bill hunting with me. Do you check your bills (money) for fancy or cool serial numbers?
If so, what denominations do you hunt most? What is your best cool serial # score or your oldest bill found?

    🔴Barr Notes info:
Among the most sought-after U.S. paper money of the late 1960s are the short-lived "Barr" Notes. The bills feature the signature of then Secretary of the Treasury, Joseph W. Barr. Barr had a relatively short term of office, the shortest of anyone that has held the position (December 21, 1968 - January 20,1969), leading to hoarding of these $1 Secretary Barr Notes. These notes are Series 1963B.

    BOOM !!!
I found a $20 Star Note over the weekend, not rare, but still a good find. As a friend says, "Can't get mad at that."
    Congrats Rob!!!
As far as that Mallard Star Note, why not offer it up for Auction and see what happens? May Work / May not Work - if there are no takers you are no worse off. Just a thought.

I received a 1969C $100 star note a few weeks ago from a teller. Since it's my first $100 star, I kept it. It's circulated with a couple of hard folds, but until I find a better looking old $100 star, I'm keeping it.

I would keep that $100 star note for now because I can't find it at the moment but years ago I downloaded a PDF of all older USA currency from 1964 and older that basically tracked down all that information but if I find it again I'll come back here to tell! It really came in handy too

A lot of the older $100 bills that were in circulation and in VG or lower was destroyed. They were then replaced with the newer $100 bill design (This was back in the 2000s).

At the risk of sounding pedantic, I wish the term "rare" wasn't used as often as it is. In the context of this video's subject, "uncommon" would be more accurate, meaning that while "the thing may not be as prevalent as common items, it is not exceedingly hard to find either", and 640,000 extant examples is certainly not exceedingly hard to find. But I get it, "rare" looks juicy in the title.
