Some years back, I watched a televised interview with Kelly Jones at the Hay-on-Wye literary festival (I think - it was a while ago) where he talked about how, before Stereophonics found success, he'd had to choose between trying to make a go of it with his music, or writing. He'd had an offer to write for the BBC. I'm glad he chose music.
I have a love/hate relationship with the Mahogany Sessions. I always love the way these artists sound raw and unique, but then, when I heard their official versions, they always fall flat.
