Before my hair was grey, I was in HMV buying my daughter a Kylie single and Kelly Jones's voice was ringing out Thousand Trees on the store PA. Not knowing who The Stereophonics were then, I asked a staff member who was on the PA. He went off to find out himself and came back telling me it was The Stereos and the album was Word Gets around. I bought it there and then and I've been a great fan ever since. Seen them live a few times and they NEVER disappoint. Kelly Jones' voice will take some beating in any genre.

For me, 19 years old, 1st (proper) job 1997, late shift 'Traffic' was on Radio 1, bought the album next day, incredible vocal, incredible band, incredible memories
I remember hearing Local Boy in the Photograph on the radio back in the good old '90s when i was about 27, married and happy I bought Word Gets Around. My then wife didn't really get into them, but by the time i bought Just Enough Education to Perform my wife really got into them, she loved Mr.Writer. I would get home from work and she would have Just Enough Education playing while she was making the tea, singing along to her favourite tracks on it lol. Now i'm quite a bit older, on my own and suffering from depression, but i still have those Stereophonics cds and i still remember what it was like to be happy. Great music and a great time i had in the '90s. 👍
This man, Kelly Jones and the Stereophonics are one of the greatest voices and bands of our time, so under rated, such a shame, amazing talent, thank you guys.
I love this band. everything they produce is top notch. Playing acoustic version of this song is brave and testament to the capabilities of both players. All those constant down strokes on the six string and the constant pumping of single notes to time on the bass is not straight forward as any player will tell you. Thanks guys for this superb version.

I want to thank him for exploring the depths of the song in his vocals and the least amount of lights and sound. Although it does not have the happiness of the original sound, the sheer authenticity of his voice is what the ear is picking up on and it sounds incredible.

The song is somewhat simple, with non transcendental lyrics.... but it is SO powerful... it makes me instantly trip to the past, to a time when someone used to made me feel like the one indeed, so long ago now...
