I've always been using a magnetic mount in my car to put my smartphone on but the metal plate disturbed the wireless charging... Now i just need to get one of these. Thanks!
how do you determine the exact place to stick the DIY magsafe sticker onto the back of iPhone X so that it matches the charging place?
Don’t use the MagSafe charger from Apple on the iPhone X. The charging speed is super super super slow.
check out a treardown video for the iPhone X to check where the coil is located, and try to line up the magnets exactly from what you see from the video with your phone

Be warned: the charging speed of the MagSafe on previous iPhones is super slow.

@@BrucyJuicy That's because this is NOT adding magsafe charging to the device - the pre-12 iphones still use Qi charging. Adding a magnet ring is the same as adding just a metal ring -- they both allow for magnetic connection to mounts and magsafe accessories but don't do anything else.
If the battery charge slow then the battery drains too slow

Yes, you can put it on the phone case. It won't harm your phone and the charging speed will not be affected. But some wireless chargers will not work due to foreign boy detection. So it is better to use it with a magnetic wireless charger.

It's best to stick it on the phone and put on a thin case because it's not very sticky.
Hi... Just wanna ask.. how do you know the exact position for the magnets?? how did you attach it so precisely??? please share your knowledge on this... i'm using iPhone XS and planning to use your method :)
1. Put the MagSafe charger on your iPhone XS. In fact, the iPhone XS also has a weak magnetic force.
2. Use a pencil or something to draw some reference marks.
3. Put the magnetic sticker on the phone.

@@Ibraheem. hi there.. using the ring is not really Ok for my XS, therefore i bought a magsafe case for my iPhone XS, usually they already sell them specifically for iPhone XS wi magsafe case, I suggest you do the same 😊

The silicone case is too thick.
But you can stick it on the case (not good looking).

Thanks for the video. Could you please test if the magnets will work as MagSafe charger adapter for old non-MagSafe Qi chargers? I mean, is it possible to make an iPhone 11, iPhone X and earlier models to work with my old Qi chargers as it is like iPhone 12 and original MagSafe Qi charger?
I've tested several Qi wireless charger and all of them will not work with the magnets sticker. The iPhone 12 also won't work due to foreign object detection function of the Qi wireless charger. But not all Qi wireless chargers are not working, you can only try it yourself.

I’ve tried some different 3rd party wireless charger and most of them won’t work normally. I think the problem is the foreign body detection feature.

To be fair it looks terrible with iPhone 12 as well. The magsafe magnet on it looks like something from Aliexpress that was 99 cents.

Actually there are a lot of NEW cases with MagSafe magnetic feature for old iPhones (iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone XS, iPhone 11...). I will buy someone for testing.
