- I'm very excited to reveal what I been working on all summer, my photo exhibition called "Formet av vann" or "Shaped by water". The exhibition lasted from the 19th of August until the 23th of August, during the Norwegian film festival "Amanda". I also showed a new film at the festival called "Min "dragetur" Sæsnuten" - which I will air at a later date on this channel. I hope you enjoy this little tour of the exhibition and if you're looking into the possibility to host your own exhibition, maybe learn a thing or two. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions I don't touch upon in this video. Take care.

Great tour and explanation among your exhibition Oddbjørn.
Many thanks Marcel! 🙂🦊I had a good «talking day» that day in the studio 😂
Beautiful exhibition.
Many Thanks buddy! 🙂🦊
Having a look in print form at the photographs that live in our hard drives is always rewarding, it's good for the heart :-)
I couldn’t agree more Fabrizio 🦊👍 the whole process was very rewarding and ispirational for me! Would love to do it again someday 🙂

Brilliant, the images looked fantastic! This is on my to do list over the next couple of years (!), would love to give it a try! S
You should start right away! Most rewarding thing I’ve done for years 🦊👍 You’re exhibition would be beautiful mate!
Thanks for the vote of confidence! I’m not sure I’m quite there yet though, it would be best to build together a coherent work I think, like you did, and exhibit the collection with a theme. I’ve just started a bit of a local project so perhaps it will be ready within the next few years 😆!
A theme is always good I think. It gives you boundaries and "rules" making it easier for the viewer to connect to the images.. maybe :) I don't know. Good luck with the project Sam!
Wonderful video, Oddbjørn. Thanks for the personal tour through your exhibition! :) It's a beautiful and very well thought-through setting. I really like that you took used frames since I'm always in favor of all aspects of sustainability. I wish you a great many visitors! Have a nice sunday!
Best,
Markus
My pleasure :) Glad you liked the tour. Not only is it good to reuse things, it is also cheaper, hehe!
nice video bro
Thank you Loida!
Congratulations Oddbjorn! That is a great accomplishment. Those are beautiful images!
Many many thanks Ceilih. Making an exhibition has been a dream of mine, so I'm glad it came to fruition :)
Absolutely fascinating, and stunning images. 😊👍🏻
Thank you so much D Griff! Most kind :)
Congratulations on the exhibit! And wonderful rambling about each picture. Thanks.
Thank you Craig! I was in a rambling mood that day :)
Oddbjørn, I think you are one of the most talented landscape photographers going around at the moment. You have a wonderful eye for those small detail that many of us simply walk past, you really think about how an image should be composed and how it should look, you give the appearance of someone who loves what they do and it is all incredibly inspiring. Congratulations on your exhibition and I wish you continued success.
Thank you so much for those kind words! It means a lot. I woke up today and read your comment and it was a great start for the day 🙂🦊 Thanks again friend!
This is great work Oddy! Lovely images but that Karmoy beach one.... That is a masterpiece
Thanks buddy! Maybe one day I can show you where it is :) Now I gotta start working on the alps videos!
Thanks for the tour of your exhibition,I would have liked to have seen it in person! Another great vlog, and insight into your creative mindset...very inspiring!
My pleasure! Thanks for watching Neil, and thanks for the kind words as well. It is most appreciated!
Tree rings. You can tell the age of a tree by counting its “rings”. Oddbjørn, here your talent for storytelling is demonstrated beautifully, visually and orally. This was a wonderful vlog, and I loved seeing the internal artistic process that went into selecting your photos and organizing the exhibit. Bravo, man, bravo!! 🙌🏼 🤩 👍🏼 🙏🏽
Hehe, don't know where I got wood grain from.. :) Thank you kindly for the nice words Irene! Appreciate the support :)
Congratulations Oddbjørn on your exhibition! Your images are just incredible and the stories behind each one is inspiring to me!
Thank you Gary! Working on the images made me miss Svalbard very much, hope to return there soon :)
Great selection of images !
Bravo!
Thank you very much Maciej! Very kind of you to say so :)
#7 - Growth Rings
Thanks Matthew!
Congrats to your exibition. It looks awsome. You have a great collection of images. Would have been fun to be there to see. Btw have you been to Låtefossen yet. Qurious about if the roadworks are finished on the bridge.
Thank you very much Andreas! I'll make sure to let you know if the exhibition makes another appearance in another place! I drove past Låtefossen a few weeks ago, I filmed the waterfall out the car window and I can't see any equipment in the footage, but I was driving past quickly and focused only on filming high up, so I can't say for sure.. I'll let you know the next time I drive past there :)
Very well done on the exhibition, I hope it was a success for you . Fantastic images , very impressive presentation , wish I could have seen it. Do you know the on line magazine “ OnLandscape “ ? You would be a great speaker at the bi annual conference in the UK
Many thanks! It was a success in my book at least! I don't know that magazine, but I googled it now. Would love to have a speech there, I've had three speeches in Norway this month, but I've never had one in English :)
oddbjørn austevik foto. You would be very good I’m sure , you can watch videos of some of the speakers on RUclips
Hi! Nice video, thansk for sharing.. few questions: how did you get the paspartou, by yourselve orndid you boght it? Why yo do not use non reflecting glass? Regards from Chile!
Hi Andres! Thanks for your comment. I got the passepartout from my local frameshop. I measured it based on the crop and frame, and delivered the measurements to the shop, and he cut it for me. Individual for each image. I didn't use non reflecting-glass because I bought each frame used, and they came with "old" glass. The cost of buying and fitting non-reflecting glass for each image would be very expensive, pushing the price up for each photograph. I decided to try to keep the cost down. Hope this helps!
Beautiful exhibit but curious why you didn't use non-glare glass to avoid reflections and why not printed larger? Leslie
Thanks Leslie :) The reason for that is that when I bought used frames they came with "old glass" and I looked into how much it would cost to replace the glass with non-glare, and ultimately decided that it was way to expensive and would add a lot of cost to each image, making them harder to sell. You can avoid glare when hanging the images up on the wall (if you're thinking about it). Some of the images could have been printed larger, but I feel it is nice to have varied sizes in an exhibition so people have the option to buy smaller if they don't have large wall space. However, two of the images should have been printed larger. Hope this makes sense :) Thanks again.
Good work! Is it digital or film? My channel is about film photography!
Thank you Luis. This is digital 🙂👍 It's been a long time since I've worked with film, but I still miss the darkroom!
