- If you've been on social media lately, then you've probably seen a lot of these Class Action Lawsuit ads popping up. On the Dadcast today I talk about them. And what are a parent's role in limiting their kid's video game time.
Remember when parents would actually parent? Pepridge farms remembers. Another solid video man! Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if both cases are just thrown out. The class action lawsuit ordeal sounds like another racketeering scheme like several others we’ve seen in recent years and as you said, sounds like there’s deeper issues with the lady’s kid than “video games made him violent” especially with more than enough research that’s been made to prove that’s not the case.
On a side note, I’d love to revisit Golden Eye but my N64 has basically evolved into Skynet because it likes to reboot itself whenever I’m winning.
Yeah, it is getting ridiculous these days the way parents pass the buck. The stories I've heard from friends who are teachers. It's really not hard at all to limit your kid's video game time but these parents just don't want to deal with the fallout and would rather just let it go then to have to parent or maybe punish there child.
Sorry to hear about your N64, I'm trying to think of why it would reset itself other than the pins need clean or could be a power supply issue. But Golden Eye is on gamepass and switch online if you have the expansion.
It's ridiculous really. First they came after games in the guise of "what about the children" saying they made us violent and now they're doing it again but now "we're protecting you from addiction" like some dumbass truth ad. Parents need to parent and limit their kid's gaming time, bam! Problem solved.
It is insane how many parents want to wash themselves of their responsibility of knowing what their kids are doing. You are right, limit their playing.
I am seeing a lot of these on my Facebook feed - I've sent several emails to these pages asking for someone representing these lawsuits to appear as a guest on my Crimeycade Podcast to talk about it - so far all refused or did not answer.
I'm not surprised really. These lawyers are probably glorified ambulance chancers hoping for a quick buck and to scam a few concerned parents while they're at it.
