I really hope Apple pull out all the stops and actually add some cool things to iOS... otherwise I'm actually seriously considering trying android for a change :/
Spec wise yes. But in streamlined ease of use and apps. Apple still wins. A smartphone is only as good as the apps made for it. Apple has the best most reliable apps on the market.
Im a apple guy i love apple so much! I tried the Samsung galaxy s5 from sprint for 1 week the next week i took it back and got my 5s. Never disappointed with the 5s but android i was. I now own a 6 plus and haven't been let down. Apple ftw!
Apple used to rule the mobile space across the board, but with advances in Android/Windows phones in recent years the iPhone doesn't hold the crown on every level. That said, they still hold the crown on many if not most levels, and arguably most of the ones that count most to consumers. Along with holding strong in the hardware space, their user experience is second to none - yes Android is open and flashy, but iOS has enough of that without going overboard. When you buy an iPhone you are buying into the overall experience of the Apple ecosystem, and consumers still overwhelmingly (and increasingly) cast their vote/wallet in that direction.
***** Android is more customizable than iOS, but all of its variations share the same fundamental user experience, which differs from the core user experience of iOS. The UX is apples and oranges and apples are superior (pun intended) according to consumer preference.
***** I think you're on the right track with that, Wolv, but Android does not ignore UX or consistency in it. Android is a quality OS that satisfies the UX that many users seek, which is why it has a strong market share. But iOS is tailored more to the average user's needs from a usability perspective.
Apple user here. but, have you not see reports recently? People did vote with their wallets and it's on Android favor. Android pie is slowly increasing while it's another way around for Apple. I do get the idea why. other competitor are quickly covering their some of their flaws while Apple is just being Apple tackling theirs one at a time.
Excellent, it did get bent a bit but nothing crazy...the performance and battery life is amazing and the jailbreak tweaks for ios 8 make it a great daily driver!
Lucius Zen im not saying he is bad... im saying i don't like him. i have never disliked a video were he is just because of that, that would be stupid but i don't watch his videos because i don't like the guy. they only youtube show where i like the the secondary host is scishow.
its true, its the most amazing battery life i've ever experienced in any smartphone when it comes to real life day to day usage, i'm not talking about streaming non stop videos
Cody Marr yeah but then you have the OnePlus One (I have it), and I don't remember a day that I got less than 6hrs screen on time on a single charge. This is real battery. On light usage, like texts and emails, I can definitely pull off 3 days
Cody Marr lol the phone would be wayy better if they rounded off the size of the phone to swallow the camera inside and provide a better bigger sized battery. Most people dont want to admit it. but thickness of how thin a phone can get is a gimmick...it doesnt provide any benfit of the phone to keep getting thiner and thiner. Apple products are lookin more and more like steve before he passed. Thiner and uglier every passing year.
I have an Iphone 6 Plus that I got to replace my LG G3. The screen on the 6 plus is so much better than the LG G3 that I cant even express it. The only thing the LG G3 is good at is the sample videos it comes with. (Fandroids can tell me to get my eyes checked now.) Apple definitely mastered the 1080p screen with this one.
i was torn between the iphone 6 plus and the note 4... it was bothering me that i couldnt make a decision... in the end i went for the note 4 and i dont regret it at all... i LOVE the note 4.
Why would Apple need to differentiate it more? That's breaking from previous release patterns. The 6+ arguably differs from the 6 more than any previous paired released of the phone.
C0Nvict97 If you don't think the 6+ differs from the 4 enough then you have unrealistic expectations. Moreover, the changes that Apple makes to the iPhone line are subtle improvements because that is all they need to be - if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
***** I think he means in a way of letting the software take advantage of the 5.5 inch display, just like how the Galaxy S series differs from the Galaxy note series. I know Samsung and apple are two "very" different companies but there could have been a little bit more, that's my opinion.
I had an S5 but hated it, lagged like crazy. Kept freezing, apps would crash all the time, the S5 front and back cameras are AWFUL regardless of the fact the resolution is higher. So I switched back to an iPhone 6 Plus (used to have a 4S before my S5) and I have no regrets in doing so. It works perfectly, it's fast, the camera is spectacular, and though my sisters 6 has onpar battery with the S5 the 6 Plus battery is AMAZING!
PREACH!!!!!!!!!!!! Exactly why I always get iPhones. shit my 4s smoother than my moms s5 she's having issues it turns off on her here and there and is just glitchy and man she's definitely going to join the apple community:) ps she takes too much care of her phone
Funny, I bought my 6 Plus unlocked and the model number is A1524... Love my 6 Plus! Been an avid Android user for the past 7 years and can't say that I have looked back ever since I picked up this phone.
That's spot on with my opinion about iPhone 6 models. I was really getting tired of Android phone models with bad cameras, bad UIs, etc, but they all have stepped up their game leveling the playing field with Apple. I was on the fence about switching over until iOS 8, and Android 5.0 Lollipop released. My wife holds onto her 5S while I will retain my Android.
I agree with you on the cases, I hate having cases on because it takes away from the beauty of the phone. Just put a screen protector on it and perfect.
I have to say the Midnight Blue leather case looks dead sexy, adds grip, protects the camera, hides the antenna bars and still features the Apple logo. But it's stupidly expensive, that's why I have a hard time recommending it. I decided that in my case the naked back is not an option. Luckily this generation of iPhones is still very slim, even with a case.
odkKoma I bought the midnight blue case with the iPhone 6. It was great when I got it but after a month of use the colour fades and it feels slippery. Love the phone though the case needs improving.
Wilde Steele That's bad news! Thank you for sharing! The reviews so far were promising. It's a shame the quality can't live up to the price. There are plenty of high quality leather cases at lower prices available.
Wilde Steele Hi! How long have u been using your iPhone 6? Im really curious, does your iphone bent under normal daily usage? I already booked 6 and will arrive in a week. Im really scared that I might face the bendgate problem..
Ahmad Farid Mohd Amin I've had no problems with my phone bending, I've had it about 2 months now. I know other people who have the 6 plus and use it without a case and they've had no problems with it bending either. The 6 is a great phone, what colour did you go for?
Pretty cool to see that more reviewers are following pocket now and their after the buzz reviews, makes it more thorough of a review looking back after two months.
nice video. this is a little thing, but it always sticks out to me... the star wars posters on the back wall would look better if you switched them so that the subjects face the middle.
Coming from a Note 2, the bezels were bothersome at first. But I quickly just got used to it and adjusted. This phone is really solid and I'm not missing my note much at all. The one and only thing I truly wish the iPhone had is a notification light. That's a basic component for any phone, imo. That said, I knew it didn't have it when I purchased the phone and handoff works great anyways.
This sound defensive but the iPhone losing its superiority is simply unavoidable. This is the way technology just is. iPhone was superior in terms of hardware because it was the first modern smartphone. But then hardware always becomes commoditised. iPhone was superior in terms of software because, again, it was the first software truly designed for touch. It's simply impossible to maintain the superiority that Apple enjoyed initially no matter how much it tries to improve iOS. But what was DEFINITELY avoidable, was all those iOS quirks and bugs. No software can be completely bug-free but problems at such a big scale are unacceptable for a company known for "It just works". Apple had better pull up its socks on quality control or it would gradually fall off the cliff.
Hi! Great review. Just a question.. regarding battery life, you said at the end of the day you had juice left... what time exactly and around how much? Also, did you have it on with 4G/LTE? thanks :)
I'm switching over from my gs4 to a 6 plus and after having my gs4 for a little over a year I can say that I'm excited to go back to Apple, Apple always makes sure that ios is perfect and smooth but android os always feel kinda rushed and at times it feels like to me there's some features that aren't necessary
I have an iPhone 5S at the moment and would love to pay off the rest of my contract and upgrade to the iPhone 6 Plus, however my contract doesn't officially end until January 2016, so I think I might just wait for the next iPhone and get it just a few months after it has came out!
My iPhone 6+ is my new phone an tablet. It's so freakin big but super particle for one hand use too. It's tight af. This phone has better screen quality than my original iPad first series. I gave it to my daughter that is 2 yrs old an now she's a pro lol crazy kids are so smart
Getting an iphone 6 tomorrow and I can't wait for better battery, currently I have a 4s and I like to play music during school and let's just assume I listen to music for about 1-2 hours and by the time I get out of school my phone is at 20% and under within a span of 6-7 hours.
All It needs is a software update which includes more ways to do things but I'm not expecting anything big like multitasking due to 1gb of ram, but I do believe one will come out before the next iphone
Getting this phone! Currently waiting for it to turn up! This will be my 4th phone this year so hopefully I'll like it. I had iPhone 5, then Samsung Galaxy s5 then iPhone 5s and now I'm getting the 6 plus.
***** Sorry, just making sure. If I bought the unlocked version with the A1522 number, do I need to do anything else to be able to use it on CDMA ? or can I just plug in a CDMA sim and it'll work right away. Thanks for you answer in advance.
Hi I have a iPhone 6 plus and when I go into the camera and take a picture and then go into see the picture it's not on a full screen picture can you tell me how to get it when I take a picture it will be a full screen.
Hey there@technobuffalo I own an iPhone 5s and and iPad Air 2 and I want to get Bluetooth headphones. Can you please tell me who has the best quality and good price ranges?
As far as people debating on android vs iPhone. IOS is better for me, Android is nice too, but if you have a macbook, iPad, etc, it's better to have the iPhone. Everything just syncs so well. If I do something on my iPad, it's instantly on both my macbook and iPhone. Also, you can now send SMS text messages through the macbook or iPad if you have iPhone. You can't do that with android.
Bugs, bugs and more bugs is the reason why I went back to Android. You tell Apple people that you have bugs but they look at you like you're crazy. Why lie about it? You're just hurting the platform if you keep it under wraps. I can understand bugs with Android because of all the different configurations but Apple does not release many phones. The platform should be rock solid but it's not. Actually the second reason is the lack of functionality with iOS. After 2 months it's still just a large iPhone with optical stabilization. Just by slapping in 2 to 3GB of ram and allowing 2 apps on screen at the same time would have won me over. Maybe next year Apple (3rd time saying this)!
Android sure does run fine on my Note 4. No crazy crashes, keyboard issues or apps blown up out of proportion. Even if apps aren't optimized on the Note 4 things like the keyboard don't get made big. I tried the iPhone 6 first and hated every minute of it and could not wait to return it. Got the Note 4 and knew it was a keeper. And 1GB of Ram is dumb on any phone costing over $650. When iPhones finally reach 2gig next year apps are going to rape todays iPhones.
***** ram does not make a device run or performance better or faster it make it able to handle multiple apps open in the background and allow for faster multitasking. Just face it when it come to multitasking between apps and switching between them IOS feel pretty sluggish
***** well I use an iPad Air everyday well like you said with iOS 8 it's smooth but I can still easily point out some flaws while using it when I switch between apps they have to refresh and some times the transitioning is little lengthy while on my android phone with 2gb I encounter none of these on my android phone
What I would like for Apple to do in their next plus device, is give it something more. Maybe go with a slightly different design then. Or taper off on the bezels
I'm using the 6 right now and am happy with it. After tweaking the phone settings and with my usage habits, i can get about 2 days battery . Even as an experienced user and someone who loves technology, I'll never replace a computer with a phone, or even use a smart phone heavily. To me, the iPhone has always been, and most likely will be for a while yet to come, is an easy to use phone, a good interface3 for people wi vision limitations, and other features as needed. I like the camera and use the iPhone camera, but that's mainly because I haven't decided on what kind of stand alone camera to buy over the MiniDV camcorder I have. So it's good for a basic HD camcorder. As far as integration, I typically use the phone in conjunction with my macbook pro, I just don't like to depend on a touch screen not always comfortable with a touch screen for typing so i text with the mac so i can have a real keyboard. so the most regularly used part of the phone for me, is the phone making and receiving calls.
Veronica Regino iPhone definitely, true that s4 has more megapixels but the quality of photos are much better on the iPhone 6, even better than the s5!
A tech 21 case is a must for a sleek look an feel. Battery life is amazing. The other day my drive home is 20 mins an my phone was at 2 percent an I was still able to text my gf back an forth the whole trip. As I kept saying my phones going to die every 5 mins an nope. Lasted until I got home. Absolutely amazing iPhone 6+
2 things I like the most on my iPhone 6 plus is the battery life and camera. the battery can run for a full day no problem, sometime it can run for 2 days. the camera is the best so far. love the slo-mo fuction. I know the phone is a little bit big but you will get use to it in 2 weeks. if you want to get the iPhone 6 plus. try to get 64gb or 128gb model. you going to needed.
After using Android for three or four years, I am thinking about going back to iOS. I like Android, but the support for iOS is so overwhelming that everything is straight forward. My only concern is the apps. I buy apps frequently and leaving them behind is a major pain. But after hearing about the issues in iOS 8, I might hold off until the end of this year for this one (after the next iPhone)
I currently use both iphone 6 plus and an HTC one m8. I have noticed pros and cons on both. since i am a student and use a macbook pro the 6 Plus has been very useful using iworks between the two. I am a spec junkie so I would love to have a note 4. I do believe there is a difference between the screen resolution and I love android especially pure android. As a pure smart phone experince I will give it to android hands down but ,sadly, since i do use a macbook pro I have found the 6 plus the most useful of the two for me needs. I do stress MY NEEDS. while switching back and forth is not as easy at times it still is pretty good.
I've had it for little over a month now. I havent. I believe I was one of the first that got the denser aluminum. apple quietly did that. I also keep my phones naked as well. it does get a while to learn how to hold but i normally use it in landscape with two hands any way. I use my HTC one m8 with one hand. I use my HTC as a phone and iphone more as a tablet. but thats just me
I havnt experience any bending problems at all. I carry it in a tech 21 case an there is zero percent chance of bending. Seriously check out tech 21 cases on RUclips. It's awesome. It's already saved me from a broken screen twice
Got this off a versus site: " In a head-to-head comparison on Versus, the Galaxy S5 trumps the iPhone 6. Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. (LON:BC94) (KRX:005930)’s recently launched Galaxy S5 has 9746 points compared to 6990 for the iPhone 6. The Galaxy S5 has a 2800mAh battery, 65% bigger than that in the iPhone 6. It has a quad-core 2.5GHz processor, compared to dual-core 1.5GHz in the iPhone 6. The Galaxy S5 has a relatively higher pixel density of 432ppi compared to 416ppi for the iPhone 6." This doesn't change for the iPhone 6 plus. The plus is just a swelled up version with a display that MIGHT be considered better than the S5.
Hey guys, I ordered a Iphone 6 plus through sprint on October 5, I was told I would receive it within 4-6 weeks... I got a email on November 11 from sprint telling me my order will be delayed another 4-6 weeks from the 11th.. I have the option to get a full refund or wait it out... Or I was thinking of getting the nexus 6.. Does anyone now why sprint has yet to receive any inventory from Apple? I am in the Northern California area. And the only reason why I would stick with sprint is because of there exclusive Iphone deal they have going on currently.
I have the iPhone 6, its an amazing phone and i like the size of it, the performance is really good and it just works. The only thing that i can complain on is that iOS 8 is buggy, it crashes some times and battery life is kinda bad with iOS 8.1.1.
I currently have an iPhone 6, I've had it for a about a week. I really want to return it and get a 6+ but I am really worried about the size of it because i text a lot, I'm not worried about having to type with two hands (I already do that on the 6) but is it uncomfortable I only have another week and then I can't return my 6 but can someone who has a 6+ please answer.
They always say that: Sales for iphones are off the charts but I find it hard to believe. But is it really true or just a good marketing pitch? I think it's more of a marketing pitch
The protruding camera lens may be because the iphone 6s/7 is said to have DSLR- like capabilities, and so they wouldn't have to change the form factor in the next iphone (The room is already there for the upgrades, but hey... Apple... You'll get them on the next version...Maybe)
I'm an apple fan, and I'm afraid I agree. 4 years ago they were hands down the best, now theres so many great android phones on the market.
I really hope Apple pull out all the stops and actually add some cool things to iOS... otherwise I'm actually seriously considering trying android for a change :/

The battery on the 6 Plus has been even better than the Note 3 and OnePlus One. It’s not quite as good on iOS 11 as iOS 10, but still amazing.
iPhone 6 plus the best phone ever ! I love mine
Ikr
Dear Apple, its almost 2015 and thin is old. You can add a bigger battery.
Thinness isn't really a compromise on the 6 Plus, battery is fantastic on it. The 6 on the other hand....

Josh Webbs part of the whole reason as to why the 6 Plus feels nice in the hand is because of how thin it is, in my opinion.

SIRlodgey the one called ios 8.0.1
Theres been 8.0.2, 8.1 and 8.1.1 since then
It came out for the iPad 2 it was a big mistake to update.
mike taylor Yeah even though they improved the support for iPad 2 and iPhone 4s in 8.1.1 they should have done that in 8.0.

How do you put the calculator in the notification center??
Do you think it is possible to sell iPad and 5S, buy 6+ and use it like a phone and the tablet without having any tablet?
No
My iPhone 6+ is my new phone an tablet.
Thanks for you answer in advance.
i personnally like the vessels, it makes the phone look nice
Hi I have a iPhone 6 plus and when I go into the camera and take a picture and then go into see the picture it's not on a full screen picture can you tell me how to get it when I take a picture it will be a full screen.
I bought the T-Mobile contract free version directly from Apple, and it works for At&t or Verizon as well. Model A1549
I have a iPhone plus and the battery life is great love it!!!
Great video John!
RUclips is the best place to be when you buy the iPhone 6 plus and when you get RUclips
Hey there@technobuffalo I own an iPhone 5s and and iPad Air 2 and I want to get Bluetooth headphones. Can you please tell me who has the best quality and good price ranges?
I really just wanna know where to get those pictures framed behind him...
Only 9 months until iPhone six plus S..Can't wait!
what about scratches? Is it easy to scratch as people is saying?
What type of smart watch does Jon have on? Does it work with IOS?
I thought about getting the iPhone 6. ..but I kept seeing myself behind apples bars. I need freedom ..This. Is. Sparta!!!!!!!
Where can I buy those Star Wars wall posters? They are awesome
***** I remember when they said the same thing about computers not needing a lot of ram.
***** I have too much crap on my iPad I thought IOS was smooth regardless of what you have on it
Jon's videos are the best ;)
What I would like for Apple to do in their next plus device, is give it something more. Maybe go with a slightly different design then. Or taper off on the bezels
Ordered my iPhone 6 Plus 128 GB two weeks ago. ETA changed from Nov 28th to T.B.A. :(
Really surprised about the battery life on the 6 plus, other thing that surprised me to was the charging time!
Where can I get his wallpaper???
How has the battery held up
awesome wallpaper...where can i get it ?
I have the iPhone 6 with orange back cover and it is so good what I really expected and I'm with Australian Telstra
where did you get that wallpaper?
do you follow up video for the note 4! please!!!!
Like your reviews. You do talk a bit fast though and tend to sing when you start and end your vids. Good review regardless😊
Which phone has a better camera quality the iPhone 6 or the Galaxy s4?
Lumia 1020 hands down :p
Pratik Dugar That definitely answered the question.
Really the iphone? even though the galaxy s4 has more megapixels than the iphone. Im really undecided on which one to get
ooops my bad.. :/
i read it wrong >p< *****
Veronica Regino iPhone definitely, true that s4 has more megapixels but the quality of photos are much better on the iPhone 6, even better than the s5!
Amazing review very honest and real 👍
Fantastic review. You covered all the key points and placed emphasis at the correct points. Now I need to go shave my face.
I need a answer pls is it 3D touch?
I use a crystal clear Spigen case that way my phone is protected but I can still see the beautiful design :)
I love my 6 plus ❤️
2 things I like the most on my iPhone 6 plus is the battery life and camera. the battery can run for a full day no problem, sometime it can run for 2 days. the camera is the best so far. love the slo-mo fuction. I know the phone is a little bit big but you will get use to it in 2 weeks. if you want to get the iPhone 6 plus. try to get 64gb or 128gb model. you going to needed.
Beautiful phone but how is the battery ? Is it beter than the samsung galaxy note?
excellent video!!! thanks!!
Do you think that apple will make an iPhone 6 mini?
After using Android for three or four years, I am thinking about going back to iOS. I like Android, but the support for iOS is so overwhelming that everything is straight forward. My only concern is the apps. I buy apps frequently and leaving them behind is a major pain. But after hearing about the issues in iOS 8, I might hold off until the end of this year for this one (after the next iPhone)
Great review!
Is everyone else with the 6 plus when on the RUclips app, turning portrait to landscape is choppy?
yes don't worry, you're not alone. im experiencing the same problem too.
I believe it's the RUclips app that's making that happen because on the safari I don't have that problem.
John you live in Irvine?!? I would be so happy if I got to meet you one day!! (::::
Hi. How long have u been using your iPhone 6 plus? Did u encounter any bending problem in normal daily usage?
Ahmad Farid Mohd Amin Stop trolling. How many times do you need to ask that question in this thread?
Hi Jon, did you listen to the audio? your voice sounds muffled O_O
still haven't gotten my pre ordered iPhone 6 plus 64 GB on northern tel Canada problems
6:07 dat status bar clutter
I bike every day will this phone ben i am thinking of buying it (i currently have a iphone 5) Should i buy it
Got this off a versus site:
" In a head-to-head comparison on Versus, the Galaxy S5 trumps the iPhone 6.
Apple is all about the symmetry, that's why the top bezel is huge.
You should talk about how hot the phones get in the videos
I have a phone from T-Mobile, does this mean I can switch to Verizon without having to buy a new phone from Verizon?
jon rettinger's review is always good to view
I currently have an iPhone 6, I've had it for a about a week. I really want to return it and get a 6+ but I am really worried about the size of it because i text a lot, I'm not worried about having to type with two hands (I already do that on the 6) but is it uncomfortable I only have another week and then I can't return my 6 but can someone who has a 6+ please answer.
Get the plus I love it wife has the 6 she wants my phone
What's up with the audio?
Your speakers, most likely. Nothing is wrong for me.
I think it was just that i was watching it when it was first uploaded and in 480p. Fine now. sorry! :)
MAIstudios Oh, that makes sence. (:
is it just me or is the microphone pretty shitty some moments in the video? its kinda "blurry" or something like that.
After hearing your comment about the Iphone 6 plus, I definitely want it. 😊😌😏
What color iPhone does he have??
BTW, I'm watching the video at 360p
OpticShitShot
Orange
Red
They always say that: Sales for iphones are off the charts but I find it hard to believe. But is it really true or just a good marketing pitch? I think it's more of a marketing pitch
audio is muffled?
The protruding camera lens may be because the iphone 6s/7 is said to have DSLR- like capabilities, and so they wouldn't have to change the form factor in the next iphone (The room is already there for the upgrades, but hey... Apple... You'll get them on the next version...Maybe)
