Pat Pezzi Why does everyone feel the need to say that every single time a celebrity does anything. If she sneezed walking down the street someone would be like "that sneeze was scripted!", lol. And, when it comes to interviews like these, that's not really accurate. They're rehearsed, once or twice. Not scripted. There is no written script. The interviewer gets an idea of what questions to ask to lead an actor into an anecdote that they think is interesting. There is no script. No more so than you are scripted when you tell one of your favourite anecdotes or stories more than once (which most of us do, to different friends, acquaintances, and new people we meet).
I didn't think it was possible for me to love Kate Winslet more than I already did, until she launched herself onto that desk with the merest suggestion of re-enacting that door scene :-D

RSH shit oh💀 well I think he had to die, that was kind of the point of the movie, to show how the titanic was. There wasn’t a happy ending, and people lost many loved ones, which is why I think the ending is fitting
But then again no one thought to rip out a door or two from the ship, tie them up, grab a couple warm blankets and try to float around in the ocean until the rescue boats arrived.

She doesn't say, "I'll never let YOU go", she says, "I'll never let go." He made her promise that because "never let go" means never give up, never sit there and die without a fight.
ZhangtheGreat yeah, I think Kate understands that she was talking about the promise but just goes along with it since it’s really not that big of a deal to her haha
The whole "never let go" thing stresses me out so much because the line is "Promise me now Rose, and NEVER LET GO OF THAT PROMISE" nothing about not letting go of his hand. Its been killing me for years the stress of that line.
I know, it's been the common meme joke. "I promise I'll never let go." She let go. I never thought about it once until it was in a meme and it made me laugh. But that's the internet for you - it took over the perception of that whole scene. But it doesn't have to.
Happiness OnEarth partially agree, but then can you expect every actor to remember the lines from all their movies, esp if it from a while back, & they've done a lot, say de niro or caine. Also some people are just good at remembering lines while others aren't
