      no it definitely draws inspiration from basic gundam design in the waist and shoulders, which makes sense because it seems like it also uses some original design features- and original transformers (outside of the head) looked damn near identical to the earlier gundam models.

    It's a very good figure but it's also way to expensive for a mass produced figure, if it had the exact same quality and it was limited to 300 I would be OK with the price, it would still be expensive, but if the quantity was limited it would be a good investment. Mass produce figures go up in price immediately after they where sold out and more often then not the value will come back down close to the retail price eventually. Don't get collectible action figures confused with toy action figures, the last normally go up in price because they where played with and are hard to find complete and in good condition 35 years after they where originally released. Now collectors know better and they keep the figures intact, they preserve every accessory and even keep the original boxes so 35 years later there will probably still exist lots of MINT figures for sale so the price wont go up that high.
    For a figure this expensive that looseness in the legs and knees going forward and back is a big issue, it wont hold an aerial action pose on the stand it came with so the action feature will be very limited because of it. It's very well sculpted, painted and the engineering of the articulation is great. It has loads of moving parts so the part count must be very high. I never had a Flame Toys Kuro Kara Kuri in hand but relying on what the reviewers say and what I can see in the videos the material seems very good. Thanks for the review Anthony.

    $450? yeah, that makes sense. why wouldn't i want to spend half a weeks wages on an ugly Fauxformer that doesn't even transform? Is it Bay-verse? maybe Animated? who knows? but it sure isn't G1 so it's on thin ice without even bringing the non-transforming nonsense into it lol. Ugh, it's ridiculous looking - is it supposed to look like a woman in a bikini? cuz it does... like a JoJo SHF fig. not classic, not the pop-culture icon we grew up with. certainly not worth the money. but im sure if you bought it then you think it's great!

    Great job. I have this one as well and can confirm the loose legs seem to be a common issue. Also the swords have flimsy grips but maybe that's just my copy. Perhaps the reason there are peg holes in the arms and legs are for the Jetpower upgrade kit that they're working on. Hopefully the legs can withstand the added height and center of gravity when it's all suited up, I pre ordered mine at TFCon and the jumbo axe is even longer than the great sword and comes with another set of hands designed to hold it.

  • @Novapoid
    @Novapoid 4 года назад

    This thing is beautiful; I fall in the group that prefers a cool looking robot over a boxy thing with wheels so I'd definitely favor these types of releases over ACTUAL Transformers. I applaud your usual fair judgement; I agree that the hips are unacceptable; no one that spends this amount of money is going to be unhappy with how good everything else is, but it should be called out as a big issue. Sentinel usually excels like no other company in distributing diecast accordingly and avoid looseness but maybe since this is kind of a joint project so who knows who was in charge.
    I personally feel this Optimus is pure quality but at the same time, like most high-end figures, IS overpriced. 250 would be more reasonable and still expensive as hell.
    Finally I don't understand saying it looks like a Gundam like it's a bad thing but hey, it's a matter of taste I guess.

    Got this guy and he is outstanding. So much so, that those joints stand out and feel so disappointing (especially at this price point). But he is beautiful in hand.

    Are those arm/leg ports 5mm? It'd be kinda hilarious if he was Siege compatible. Also, very bizarre that this figure has a hip joint issue, all of their model kits have problems at the hips as well and they're all wildly different. Strange it's like their company's Persian flaw.

    I got the DLX 3A hasbro bumble bee movie, optimus prime, its half the price but much better I think. And taller.

      @@AnthonysCustoms much better maybe a bit strong but in terms of price point and what you get for it I think it wins. I got mine for £200 and the paint work is amazing, the articulation is great.i also prefer the general look but that's more subjective. The accessories aren't as good as this one but it's nearly half price so I can let it go. Have you seen the 3A hasbro one, I would like to know your thoughts.

    This thing is just fun to look at. But then on top of that, it’s super articulated.
