“Sea to Sea” by OSCAR-winning Canadian composer Howard Shore was commissioned by the New Brunswick Youth Orchestra to celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday. The song premiered on Canada Day weekend in Moncton, New Brunswick, and featured Soprano Measha Brueggergosman and a 120-voice choir. With lyrics by Elizabeth Cotnoir, the song celebrates Canada’s natural beauty and cultural diversity.
The NBYO performed ‘Sea to Sea’ in concerts at Kingsbrae International Residence for the Arts in St. Andrews, NB, the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, Maison symphonique de Montréal and in other communities throughout New Brunswick - in total, 15 concerts, 500+ choral singers and more than 20,000 audience members. 2017 has been an exciting year for Canada and for the NBYO. What a privilege to live in this great land!
