Dear Mr. Tomic, I can never thank you enough for all this huge quality-content you share here with all of us, all free of charge. I wish you will in whatever you do. Take care.
I would like to thank you stepjan. I watched your videos for 3 months and then i played a tournament now i am 1300 rated.thank you sir. You made this possibpe
Same, but I only got a lichess rating witch went from about 1750 to 1914, thanks to this videos giving me more knowledge of all the e4 openings. Also congrats on getting 1300, keep it up and you'll easily get 1600 with these videos quick.
There is one very solid variation e4 d6 d4 kf6 attacking e4 which basically forces kc3. Now kd6 gives white the option of f4 avoiding the Lion with certain lines +0.8 for white. But if instead of kd6 we play e5, we cut across f4, at the expense of allowing the queenless midllegame with dxe5. This endgame gives easy total equality for Black. If white does not take the endgame, then usually we get to the Lion with kf3 etc. Conclusion: with the d6 Philidor we either get the Lion or an equal endgame. You can even play something similar against d4, which either transposes or becomes the old indian after c4.
Sorry, not related to this opening. But I noticed you dont have the Steiner variation in your French series. It's a variation I just discovered and as someone who doesnt Carr for the french found I really enjoy! There is almost no videos on it. E4, e6, c5! Just a thought.
How is that possible? You meant 2. c4, right? I never saw that to be honest, but I find it similar to the Hillbilly Attack in the caro kann. Black probably plays d5 and you have the same position, just that the e6 pawn gets traded instead of the c6 one.
Hi Stepjan. What about Phillidor defence from the bishop opening. Is the something diference? Please say some word also about Portugease in Scandinavian variation. 1.e4 d5 2exd5 Nf6 3.d4 Bg4. Is very dynamic and interesting opening, How to play properly.
Stepan, fantastic videos on your channel. Thank you very much for creating them. Seems like Nimzowitsch Variation of Philidor Defence for Black is just NOT recommended. Did I get the idea right? All of the variations in that video ended up worse for black.

The key to the PD is maintaing a dynamic tension in the center(around e5). Direct white to the flanks. Get h7-h6 before Bf8-e7.

No problem Dan! Thank you for watching:)
Thanks for such great videos! Would you be able to make any videos on the Dutch Defence soon?
Not so soon, but it's coming up in the d4 series.

Not to sound like an a**hole, but N is used for knight, not K, that's king.

@@HangingPawns yes. C4. Yea I guess it is similar. Black should play d5 and exchange pawns.

That is true. But only from a theoretical perspective. In practice it is playable.
there is also another move 4...Ng5?! point is after h6 5...Nxf7! Kxf7 6...dxe5 Black is slightly better but practically i think white can win
Hello? Thank again
No problem Pablo!
