I recently started playing Nimzowitsch Kennedy Variation and I love it. It's fun to play and takes many off the guard. My number one opening for black. With whites I play something very similar: Van Geet Opening.
I am having a really hard time with this opening. If I could pinpoint my problem area, it's specifically when white simply declines the Nimzo (with 2. Nf3 for example), and transposes into the Scotch, Italian, or Spanish. When that happens, I feel like white is no longer playing against the Nimzo, rather, black is "forced" to play against white's opening.
Great! After playing the accelerated dragon for years, I switched to the Nimzowitsch-Kennedy variation. and I love her. It's fun to play and surprises many. However, most of my opponents play 2.Nf3 d6, Williams Variation... I'm still looking for that... With whites I play something very similar: Van Geet Opening. I would like the newsletter but it doesn't work for me on the homepage...
I probably almost always play this with the Kennedy variation, but then after pawn D4 goes to D5, I move the knight to D5, not E7. Sometimes later in the gam I will end up with the knights on F6 and G6. When this is combined with castling, your king is very well protected. Nobody has taught me this defense. I just like the fact that the knight can block the king's pawn. Thank you for this video.
Hello Solomon, it's Gabriel... I'm back... I stopped following your channel and I'm sorry... I also stopped improving and went back to stupid bullett games, where I get nervous and I keep losing :( I should follow more your advice, maybe also taking a look to hippo defense (maybe it's not the best for me, I won't survive closed position I guess) but you did plenty of videos and I will watch them again and try to find more ideas for my games Thank you for your good videos and all the great content!

After 3. ... Nd4 and 4. c3 you lose the knight, though?
Great!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
What do you think of an early Be3 by white in the Kennedy variation to stop Bf5 by black?
Hey, sorry off topic but what camera do you use?
Don’t think I’ve ever seen F4.. I play the Kennedy almost exclusively.
Nice to see the follow up lines though, just in case.
can we do this on real games?
