One of the best remakes out there. And very well received. I love this version of Jason. He's a proficient hunter in this movie. Knowing where to lay traps, he's an archer, has an underground tunnel system throughout the area to get places fast and unseen. I'm a fan of zombie Jason, but they did a really good job with this one. Hope you guys check out the Nightmare on Elm Street remake too. It has a more serious tone than what we're use to with Robert Englund's Freddy.

I was so confused because this was definitely a level up and was miles better than the original and some of the entries in this series. It's only an hour long so if you're a fan of Jason and wanted to see more of him, you could watch it.
It was certainly better than the overrated films that had Kane Hodder as Jason. Seriously, those films were garbage for the most part. I only slightly liked Jason Takes Manhattan because they tried something different even if the story was crap. Cheapskate Paramount is the reason we didn't actually get a true Jason Takes Manhattan.
Fun fact: The actor who played Chewie also played a small part in a Nightmare On Elm Street (2010 Remake) which is pretty cool. Playing different characters so in their appropriate remake worlds they can't cross over again :D. But this is one of my favorite Friday movies and Jason was so scary. The fact that he can run? Yeah, I'm fucking dead. And gave a reason to wh he 'teleports' around. He has an underground tunnel system and he's a skilled hunter. This remake paid homage to Friday movies 1-4. You see nods from those classics throughout the movie.

All the movie studio got was the rights to a image of a man in a hockey mask. Because they added that after the first movie. But the judge also ruled that they did not have the right or permission. To use the name Jason Voorhees since it was mentioned in the first movie. That an they did not have permission from the original screenwriter to use the name Jason Voorhees past the first movie. So movie studio lost the right to use the name Jason Voorhees and his entire backstory. Because it was in the first movies screenplay so that proves once and for all that the movie studio retconed. Jason's death from the first movie in Friday the 13th part 2. Because legally they did not have permission to use the name Jason Voorhees or his backstory in any movie other then the first Friday the 13th movie. So that leaves it like this basically the original screenwriter has the rights to Jason Voorhees name and backstory and everything. From the first movie an he has made it perfectly clear in the past he hated how they made Jason into a killer. Probably because he wrote Jason as a dead character from the start to serve as his mothers mrs. Voorhees motivation to go insane and start killing people only. He was never alive to begin with. Because when they brought him back as the killer in part 2. It completely undermines Mrs Voorhees motivation from the first movie. Because if Jason was alive or missing she would be looking for him instead of killing people and doing the other things that she was doing. So that leaves the movie studio with a image of a guy in a hockey mask. With no name or backstory of any kind. So in order for the movie studio to continue to make movies with. The killer in a hockey mask they would have to either A come up with a whole new name and backstory or. B work out a deal with the original screenwriter of the first Friday the 13th movie. But bear in mind they made the original screenwriter pay out of his own pocket for years as they stretch this lawsuit out. Well they we're making money off of something he created so they had plenty of money he was using his own money. They also stretched it out for years with every trick possible. In wich made him pay more of his money out of his own pocket to fight to get the rights to something that was legally his. Saw this on my 17th bday back in 2009, the theater crowd reactions was awesome and fun on opening weekend! Pretty much what I expected from a F13 movie. One of my favorites from the remakes or reboots.
I'm writing that i bought the 2020 Shout Factory and Scream Factory 16 discs Friday the 13th Blu-ray Boxset. I'm telling you that you really get your money's worth when it comes to special features and there's 22 audio commentaries and two special features discs too.
When I first watch the film in theaters when Jason was killing the first victims, and about to kill the last one the screen goes black, and the title appears that we all applauded.
Just a couple fun facts about the cast. The girl who played the blondie who got hit by the boat was a singer/dancer in the 2000s and had a hit song! Willa Ford - I wanna be bad. Check it out! Y’all probably have heard it once or twinge in a random movie or show! And the Asian dude, Aaron Yoo, played in another scary movie with Shia Labeouf called Disturbia, in which, he basically played the same character here😂😂😂. The goofy pot head smh. Y’all should do a reaction to that one! 2000s was a great decade too😭.

The more times I've seen this remake the more I like it. Jason is an actual hunter in this one and more like how he would be having grown up in the woods versus that zombie crap we got starting with Part 6. Also, jagoffs like Trent got what they deserved. Funny fact, the actor playing Trent played that exact same character in the first live action Transformers flick and was a d-bag in that one too as Megan Fox's BF early in the film.

I hate this movie. Having come to love the Friday The 13th franchise to the degree that I do, I cannot stand the disrespect demonstrated in shoehorning Friday The 13th into this 2000s movie-making mold, not to mention the BLATANT incorporation of elements from the Wrong Turn movies that hadn't ever existed in Friday The 13th movies, altering the entire Jason Voorhees character for the sake of ripping off that franchise, and even essentially *SPOILERS* copying the death of the villain from Wrong Turn 2 who was, incidentally, played by Ken Kirzinger who played Jason Voorhees in Freddy Vs Jason.
This remake had promise. I wish the first group was the main group of the movie. I didn’t care for the 2nd group. They were forgettable and unlikable. But it made it satisfying watching Jason do his thing. This is probably my favorite version of Jason. The ending was on the other hand, really dumb.
There's one thing I don't understand. Trent's family cabin is close to Camp Crystal Lake, and you mean to tell me they have never encountered Jason not once?
My biggest question on slasher films protagonists and side characters is this: Why you wanna camp at camp crystal lake when people went missing or dead or alive!!!!! 👀👀
Ya haven’t checked Evil Dead yet but at one point they considered crossing over with the hero of that series Ash Williams doing Freddy vs Jason vs Ash, didn’t happen though, had an ok time with this reboot, wonder what you’ll make of the Freddy reboot, he gets very creepy in that movie.

I love your reaction. I like this movie but I love the first four movies and ironically this Jason is based on the Jason from part 2 to 4. Alot of people forget Jason had the bag head in part 2 before hockey mask on 3. This remake is good but I hate the score. The music in parts 1 to 4 was better and those movies were scarier in my opinion. Parts.1 and 2 have one of the best jump scares of all time and final chapter has the best Jason and Pamela was creepy in the original. This movies first 15 minutes is really good but it does not match that later on and people forget Jason ran in parts 2.to 4. The slow walking started in part 6. Love this channel living my og horror.that.I grew up with. Looking forward to Jason.x

Saw this on my 17th bday back in 2009, the theater crowd reactions was awesome and fun on opening weekend! Pretty much what I expected from a F13 movie. One of my favorites from the remakes or reboots.

Just a couple fun facts about the cast. The girl who played the blondie who got hit by the boat was a singer/dancer in the 2000s and had a hit song! Willa Ford - I wanna be bad. Check it out! Y’all probably have heard it once or twinge in a random movie or show! And the Asian dude, Aaron Yoo, played in another scary movie with Shia Labeouf called Disturbia, in which, he basically played the same character here😂😂😂. The goofy pot head smh. I saw this on theaters when it came out, my theater had fun with it; still not a fan of it being a remake of the 1st 3 movies and purposefully not casting legacy actors, but as I said it's a fun remake.

The more times I've seen this remake the more I like it. Jason is an actual hunter in this one and more like how he would be having grown up in the woods versus that zombie crap we got starting with Part 6. Also, jagoffs like Trent got what they deserved. Funny fact, the actor playing Trent played that exact same character in the first live action Transformers flick and was a d-bag in that one too as Megan Fox's BF early in the film.

i loved watching all you friday 13th reactions i thought this movie was really good for a reboot/remake. i dont know if you guys will react to it or nor the nightmare on elm street remake. that one has the freddy as how he was supposed to be portrayed in the original film but they had to changed it due to real events that was has happening at the time

I hate this movie. Having come to love the Friday The 13th franchise to the degree that I do, I cannot stand the disrespect demonstrated in shoehorning Friday The 13th into this 2000s movie-making mold, not to mention the BLATANT incorporation of elements from the Wrong Turn movies that hadn't ever existed in Friday The 13th movies, altering the entire Jason Voorhees character for the sake of ripping off that franchise, and even essentially *SPOILERS* copying the death of the villain from Wrong Turn 2 who was, incidentally, played by Ken Kirzinger who played Jason Voorhees in Freddy Vs Jason.

This remake had promise. I wish the first group was the main group of the movie. I didn’t care for the 2nd group. They were forgettable and unlikable. But it made it satisfying watching Jason do his thing. This is probably my favorite version of Jason. The ending was on the other hand, really dumb.

So now that you have seen it,except for Jason X. Of all the F13 movies. Which is your favorite? Btw,if you saw that in this movie they combined elements of the first 4 movies. The brother looking for the sister,the mother getting beheaded,the one girl kidnapped and looking like the mother,finding the mask. I know that these series are done. Are any of you considering any other horror series? Poltergeist? Halloween? If I can make a recommendation for one movie that is weird,horror,and a comedy "Dead Alive" it's Peter Jackson's first ever film in New Zealand.
We like the first movie! We liked not knowing who the killer was. We have finished most Halloween movies, just need to do the remakes.

I love your reaction. I like this movie but I love the first four movies and ironically this Jason is based on the Jason from part 2 to 4. Alot of people forget Jason had the bag head in part 2 before hockey mask on 3. This remake is good but I hate the score. The music in parts 1 to 4 was better and those movies were scarier in my opinion. Parts.1 and 2 have one of the best jump scares of all time and final chapter has the best Jason and Pamela was creepy in the original. This movies first 15 minutes is really good but it does not match that later on and people forget Jason ran in parts 2.to 4. The slow walking started in part 6. Love this channel living my og horror.that.I grew up with. Looking forward to Jason.x
