Remember the Nightmare on Elm Street movies, where he can use some of his victim's own fears against them?
This is actually the movie that got me into horror and made me a life-long fan of both franchises. Is it perfect? Certainly not, but it will always hold a highly special place in my heart.
Man, Jason was in Hell minding his business when Freddy had to bring him back. smh He don't care about your revenge plot or kill count Freddy, he's got his own! 😂😂

The point of bringing Jason with them is because they wanted Laurie to go in the dream, grab Freddy and bring him out to the real world with Jason, hoping Jason would kill him and just stay all the way in Crystal Lake. They were supposed to drop Jason off at home and run away. But the truck crashed and Laurie wouldn’t wake up. Also, yea Jason is CLEARLY not afraid of water or drowning. The writers were just lazy and needed a weakness just for the sake of plot
Jason isn’t afraid of water in the real world, because it doesn’t hurt him. But in the dream world, the original fear of eater that he had as a kid, which was shy he couldn’t swim and drowned in the first place, was still active. Jason still had those memories of what it was like to drown deep in his psyche, and his only nightmare, other than his mother hating him, is to drown again as a helpless human. Being in the nightmare triggered that, brought back those memories, and Freddy pounced on that. So, yes, Jason IS afraid of water, but only in a nightmare.
On the contrary, it actually makes *perfect* sense for Jason to be afraid of water considering the fact that it was the very same element that was the cause of his "mortal" death, so even though he can physically wade through water, subconsciously he's *still* afraid of it because of it leading to him becoming what he is now in the first place.
Jason's "fear" of water is really just his trauma from drowning. When he's awake it doesn't affect him because he knows it won't hurt him. However, while in the dream world where Freddy's in complete control it brings all that to the surface. That's what Freddy does he takes fear and amplifies it. Also, Linderman told Kia to go because he knew he wasn't going to survive with that wound, and he didn't want her to watch him die. There's a deleted scene that takes place while they're still in the van where he admits he likes her. There's also one that's an extension of the scene by the tree where she kisses him before she leaves. It's a shame these two scenes were cut because they gave character development to who I think are two of the better characters in this movie.
The story continues on through the comics in freddy vs jason vs ash. There's also a sequel to that comic as well called freddy vs jason vs ash: The nightmare warriors. There's couple comic dubs on youtube you can check out for free for both, which I highly recommend as Nightmare Warriors has all the previous survivors work together like the avengers.
I do think they did a generally very good job with this movie. The reason the characters come together makes sense (Freddy using Jason to make them remember him). We got a big fight in the dream world and in the real world between the two horror icons. Bringing back Weston Hills Metal Hospital and Hypnocil from Nightmare Part 3 were nice touches too. Freddy got some cool dream sequences and Jason got an iconic bloodbath in a cornfield. My biggest problem with the movie is something you pointed out, why did they make Jason scared of water when he never was before. It makes no sense. Even the writers of the movie have said that part wasn’t in their script and something the producers added in. But overall it’s forgivable because the movie is so fun and generally does a good job of sticking to the characters mythologies.
Hell yes Freddy vs Jason. One of my first crossover movies I seen as a kid. First one was Mothra vs Godzilla. And I didn't see the original 1961 Mothra movie but it was still easy for me to understand what was happening. Same for this movie and I only saw a decent chunk of both movie series. Also there's a sequel in the form of a comic book called Freddy vs Jason vs Ash. Yes that Ash from the evil dead movies and the TV show Ash vs the evil dead.
I’m glad you guys liked it, this was a great reaction. Freddy vs Jason was the very first movie I ever saw in theaters so it holds a special place in my heart. Team Freddy always.
Omg! I wanted to see yalls reaction to Freddy saying “dark meat” to Kelly and her calling him the f word😭😂. And when the nerd kid roasting Kelly at the rave. This was a really fun one! I saw this in theaters when I was in middle school with friends! We snuck in lol. This was the best movie that summer! The audience was screaming and laughing throughout the whole movie. Glad you guys liked it! Friday the 13th 2009 up next? Lol don’t forget Jason X as well!
The marketing leading up to this movie was a bunch of wrestling style promos where the actors (in costume) would roast each other and hype up the movie. There was supposed to be a sequel with an unfilmed ending to this one that lead into it. That unfilmed ending was where they both end up in hell (again) but this time they both get sent before pinhead from Hellraiser. The sequel was gonna be Freddy vs Jason vs Hellraiser. But there were movie rights issues that stalled the project and then we entered the reboot era in which all beloved 70s/80s slashers got rebooted with (mostly) much shittier remakes, friday the 13th and nightmare on elm street were no exception to the shitty remake trends of the late 2000s/early 2010s.
5:00 😂😂😂 “you just said it!” Exactly what I was thinking😂 you just said it so you definitely would have added that in the movie if you were the writer🤣. Y’all are funny af lol.
Them taking Jason with them was smart but risky. They figured if Jason won the fight he would be home and not need to kill anymore. The logic was there but how the hell did they carry him lol
Some good movie suggestions for you are The Hitcher (2007), Joy Ride (2001), P2 (2007), House of Wax (2005), Sorority Row (2009) and When a Stranger Calls (2006). Love your reactions!! 😊
The one thing I never understand was Jason walking all the way from Camp Crystal Lake in New Jersey all the way to Springwood, Ohio to Elm Street. That’s 491 miles, which is 164 hours of walking. If I was Jason, I’ll be like “Naw I’m cool” 🤣.
Freddy Vs Jason in my mind of the best horror crossovers now it’s usually hard to try to these kind of movies because trying to think of a Script and making both franchises like real but I think Freddy Vs Jason succeed that expectation by the way they had a Press Conference for this movie also
I remember seeing this in high school so 15-16 and I remember the opening with the jawn on the dock an as soon as she took the shirt off some dude yelled out “ oh she’s Ganna make it “ whole Theater irrupt it in laughter😂😂
I love this film even though Kane Hodder wasn’t Jason in this one which is unfortunate. I also thought the choppy frame rate in some scenes was a little goofy and cheesy. Still, this is one of my favorite horror movies.
This movie gets some hate, but I couldn't ask for anything more. I honestly didn't know what people really expected out of this kind of movie being made. I think the part with Jason being afraid of water in his dream is apart of Freddy's powers of installing fear into anyone. Jason doesn't fear anything. But deep down inside is another story. If I had to guess who would be the "hero" between Freddy and Jason, I'd have to go with Jason. Freddy is malicious, while Jason has become something of a force of nature.(or evil)
This is one of my favorite Halloween movies. This also co stars actor Jason Ritter son of late actor John Ritter. Always love your reactions I hope all Is well with you all. 🙂
The script originally planned for Freddy and Jason to end up fighting in hell where a cameo by Pinhead (hellraiser) would show up and seperate them commenting "What the hell are you two doing here? Get outta this place!" and toss them back to earth but since Clive Barker owned the rights to the character he refused to allow it.
A fun time!! Another fun reaction!! Like everyone else, I do hope we get to see the legends again! (Miss the campiness tbh haha) Curious what the next franchise to react to from you guys? 😬🤔
For fun, yall should check out the fan film, "Michael vs Jason: Evil Emerges." It takes place after the events of freddy vs jason. Very well done. Hollywood missed an opportunity
The reason why nobody was calling the police at the rave is because this was back in 2003 then not everyone had cellphones specifically high schoolers. Some did at my school but it was rare. I mean not one of them used a cellphone though out the movie.
I was at the theaters once and a dude was handing out flyers for a movie screening, I signed up, they chose me, and it was this movie like 8 months before it came out. Surprisingly it's much better then jason's previous 3-4 movies. Dude folded in half in the bed is a sweet ass kill.
Supposedly there was an ending considered where after the battle Freddy and Jason awake in Hell are about to attacked other but are suddenly pulled apart by chains with hooks revealing PinHead from the horror movie HellRaiser n he says "Gentlemen, what's seems to be the problem?" Another awesome cross over but abandoned because NewLine Cinema couldn't get the Rights of HellRaiser from Dimension films.
I remember seeing this in theaters when I was 17. It was packed definitely 1 one of my favorite movies I've ever seen in theaters. And thx for the shout out and reaction 👍👍
the reason freddy couldn’t kill jason was because he told him he could never die in the beginning.. he should’ve made ts clearer “only i can kill you” then maybe he would’ve came out on top but this definitely my movie
Wat Up Virtual Fam!!!.Dallas Was Right OnThe Mark When She GUESSED That Freddy and Jason will be Fighting Because Jason was Killing Freddy's "victims."..Yep Dallas Nailed That One...And She Never Even Seen It...."Hmmmm🤔??.....Okay,Okay..👏🏾PROPS👏🏾 To Dallas. This is one of the first horror icon crossover movies. Since the days of the Universal monsters when Universal Studios movie did movies like Frankenstein meets The Wolfman. Alien versus Predator doesn't count because they are Sci-Fi Action movies. From what I understand this was not the original ending they wanted to make. The ending they wanted to make involves another character. From another movie franchise you did not start watching yet call Hellraiser. From what I understand they wanted in the original ending. To be Freddy and Jason to be fighting in hell then the. Character wich their actual name or title is the Hell Priest. In the book or Novella or short story called the Hellbound heart. But he sadly became known by a less-than-flattering and disrespectful nickname Pinhead. Some people don't like the 3rd movie but it shows what he is truly capable of. Freddy and Jason and have nothing on the Hell Priest he truly has the power to mess people up. The only thing that normally stops him is he is forced to follow rules that prevent him from doing so. But the reason I mention that stuff is because. From everything I heard about the original script Freddy and Jason are fighting in hell. Then the Hell Priest literally breaks them apart and says something like what's all the fighting about. So that was what they originally planned for the ending of this movie. But it did not happen because they could not come to an arrangement with the owner of the Hellraiser movie franchise. But just imagine if they could of did that ending. I mean that one character the Hell Priest or has sadly earned nickname Pinhead. Just walking up and restraining both Freddy and Jason without any problem. I mean Freddy and Jason are no chumps but the Hell Priest just restrains and separates them like they are children.
@@SomethingCinema From what I heard from multiple people on RUclips that was in the original script. Not spoilers for the Hellraiser movie or its sequels. You seen how much work Freddy and Jason has to put into each every kill for one person. Now the Hell Priest which I prefer to call them because it is their proper name or title. It also Shows respect for the power he has unlike the nickname he got Pinhead. Not so much effort is needed for example non-spoiler for any Hellraiser movie. When Jason's running around killing people in the cornfield. He has to literally move person-to-person to kill them. The Hell Priest all he needs to do is be standing in the corner. Then he would be able to rip them all to bits and pieces all at once. From that corner without even moving a muscle. But he probably would do things worse then rip them apart. Once again without moving a muscle because he's highly intelligent and sadistic. Freddy Krueger does some creative things physically an mentally but he has to manipulate it one on one. The Hell Priest on the other hand all he needs to do is just stand there and not move. For example the corn field scene he would be able just to. Make all the beer into icicle-like Spears then spear everyone to death if he wanted without any problem all at once. So out of these horror icons Michael Myers, Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger an the Hell Priest ( Pinhead). Who do you think is the strongest and is the most dangerous. Keep in mine Michael Myers has the same limitations as Jason Voorhees. Based on what you seen Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees can do along with Freddy Krueger. Then my non-spoiler description of the Hell Priests true powers and capabilitys. Because I'm going with the Hell Priest because he can kill you. Before you even know he's there with anything from anywhere. Without even moving or making a sound an it won't be quick and easy.
@@SomethingCinema I falled to mention that the Hell Priest is. Not human in the least he is literally a supernatural being from hell. No human or anything from this world can hurt him or harm him. Think of him as the closest thing to a god but not a god. That an his ability to attack from great distances and multiple targets all at once. Even multiple parts of a body. His reigns being if he can see you he can kill you from anywhere while standing still. I think gives him the advantage over Jason or Michael Myers that's for basically the same. I mean from a fight standpoint Jason is Unstoppable against normal embassies. But whats Jason going to do if say hypothetically the Hell Priest Target's all of his Limbs and ripping them off all at once. Leaving Jason just a head and a torso because that's in the Hell Priest power. Because Jason might be unstoppable but still has a basic human body. So think of what the girl with telekinesis did to him in the New Blood. But replace her with a Godlike being that Jason can't harm even if he gets to him. That can summon and use things from around him and tear people apart from long-range. Part by tiny part if he pleases because he's cruel and sadistic. Thats why I'm going with the Hell Priest because he. Can attack multiple Targets at any range from all angles. Then the Godlike ability about his Unstoppable Factor. By that I mean no weapon made by men can even come close to scratching him or cause him to pause even for a second. This also means that Freddy Krueger's powers and abilities work on him ether since he does not dream or sleep. So basically Freddy Krueger is a lower class demon compared to the Hell Priest.
The only thing I hate about this movie is that Freddy really only killed one person while Jason killed a everyone else. I mean Freddy killed the little girl in the beginning, the blonde dude's brother, and Lori's mother in the past and pretty much off screen. And tried to kill the guy but was too weak and then the drunk girl but Jason got to her first. So he really only killed one character and it was the blonde guy he burned alive.
YAY!! you guys finally watched it. I saw this in theaters, crowd was hyped lol. Glad y'all enjoyed it. You guys could watch the remakes as well, if you want.
I finally got a chance to watch this with you all.Thank you 🌝This movie is a classic. This fight scene was actually sick.you have a amazing show and I hope you have so much success. Much love from San Diego. You guys are dope!👍🏾👍🏾🌝
Jason in this movie looks annoyed and frustrated by two stoners and like: I told u not to poke me the first and second time now look at you this a valuable lesson to you protagonists in my films don't ever poke me or insult my mother and if somebody insult his mother in the worse way I'm sorry but you just crossed the line and deserve what u get and if you insult Michael myers he ain't letting u live or walk away
@@SomethingCinema Yep he looks annoyed and said look I been shot beheaded tored up from limb to limb blown up drowned manipulate and survived in space and got a machete in the heart in the remake and I'm telling u people I'm trying to be nice to you but you insult my mother and underestimate me now I'm fighting this pizza crusted freckle face with blade gloves and a Christmas sweater
Also, in the dream state, and how Freddy can manipulate the subconscious. He literally pulled from the darkest recesses of his mind. The event that caused everything. INCLUDING! The death of his dear mother. Even Freddy using his mother to manipulate him Freddy knows children. That's one of his biggest prey. Where Jason is a hunter, but his psychology is very basic and hadn't really evolved so much from that state of mind. But hunting, killing gathering before he died and now the zombie Jason weve seen. And Freddy. Reach so far in his mind to back when he was that poor drowning child. Because reality is what makes Freddy's powers so op on his worlds. Once he finds a link. He'll trace it back. To the root. Once there. He can transmute his victim to represent their most fearful state in life. One reason why the water turned a certain shade of green. because many shades and colors of green represent fear throughout cultures.
So, Jason as an adult has advanced on many animalistic ways. But that social autistic kid never grew or it did more down the lines of territory, animal mind. So Freddy has so many more advantages in this story then people give him credit for.

Jason fans are going to hate reading this, but idc cause it's my opinion. But Freddy definitely outshined Jason in this movie. Simply for being diverse, he was more sadistic, terrifying, and even killed it with his humor. It's like Freddy was the rockstar and Jason was the silent drummer lol. Also movie fact: it may have seemed like Jason got more kills in the movie but technically, Freddy gotten more kills or about the same amount. One of the reasons why, they didn't show Freddy killing more people was because they didn't have enough money in the budget to exploit his creativity upon his victims. Jason being afraid of water in this film wasn't weird either because he was dreaming and was facing Freddy who one of his nickname is "The Nightmare." Freddy was helping Jason out in the beginning, but once he got greedy, that's what started the beef. Also, fun fact: in the orginal ending, Freddy and Jason both was going to be drag down to hell and finished their battle there, but was interrupted by Hellraiser. But obviously couldn't do it for movie productions reasons but aye🤷♂️. Anyway #Team Freddy all day but salute to Jason for being a legend.
@@SomethingCinema yeah it would have been badass fs. But I felt like a Hellraiser cameo would have been a little cliche but entertaining, most definitely.
Kia's death was actually supposed to be a Freddy kill, not a Jason kill. Originally, she'd basically do what Nancy did in the original Nightmare on Elm Street film (getting the two mixed up) then Freddy would come up behind her and say "wrong one b*tch" then kill her. So he would've had at least one more kill in the movie if they didn't change it to what we have now.
This one was fun. You can't go in expecting an amazing plot but it's definitely entertaining to watch. The comics of Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash & FvJvA: Nightmare Warriors were fun, too.
Yeah Jason isn't afraid of water or Drowning. Plus Jason doesn't dream but like one of your viewers commented that the writers were lazy and had to help plot. Enjoyed your reaction and ready for Jason X
The guy's friend was my favorite character, once he died the only interesting characters were Jason and Freddy lmao. The other characters besides the good cop (I've seen that cop in so many things including Scary Movie) and he died too soon too. This movie just lacked on making the other characters interesting enough to care. The only two characters I liked died before Act III. The fight was pretty cool but Ken's Jason (He played that restaurant guy in Jason Takes Manhattan) was so boring as Jason. He didn't bring any kind of personality to Jason like Kane Hodder did. The way Kane Hodder breathed heavily and looked around as Jason. Ken's Jason was so stale and brought nothing for the character imo. And how tf is Jason afraid of water? Biggest flaw of this movie lmao. I mean he's walked through water PLENTY of times. That's what's weird and the writing was just so odd. I guess they just tried to retcon some movies to somehow turn Jason into a little boy even though that's so unrealistic? Lmfao. That's what brought the movie down for me and is a BIG HUH? .
@@GangstaStan010 I mean Jason has been kinda dead this entire franchise lol, im pretty sure he died again again though in part 6 jason lives and Kane hodder started playing him in part 7 the new blood, and he was definitely dead dead at that point did you see how his face looked, the prosthetics were great lol

Nice reaction as always. I watched this movie religiously since it same out and there's a part in it that I never paid attention to until now that got me theorizing. At 34:10, Freddy says "I always had a thing for the whores that lived in this house. " Now I'm wondering if it's implied if Freddy had an affair with Marge Thompson (Nancy's mother)?
I don’t think so lol she killed him. He was just being disrespectful cuz she took his other set of finger knives. He hates Nancy’s mom and Nancy the most I think!
@@oni6903 She could have killed him because once she found out he really was and hide the affair. Just spitballing the idea because of what was said in the movie.
Finally! Definitely worth the wait! This is such a fun, dumb movie, and it was amazing to watch with a crowd when it came out in theatres! I loved your reactions when they had Jason in the van and Kelly was trying to give him mouth-to-mouth. That’s my favorite part of the movie!
When I saw this in the cinema until they had him turn into a little boy I thought Jason had stopped because it'd finally sunk in Freddy was just healing any damage so he was thinking of a new way to kill hm.

I love this movie and the actress you asked who she is the one Jason stole from Freddy and killed in the locker was Katherine Isabel and she is known for many horror movies but most famously Ginger Snaps and if you haven't seen that one you should check it out...a werewolf story but also a bond between sisters in many ways.
@@SomethingCinema ya it is funny thing is that Emily plays the younger sister but she is actually older than Katherine. The movie is about so many different important subjects that mix a supernatural element and it just works.
Oh hell yeah Freddy vs Jason one of my favorite crossover. First one was Mothra vs Godzilla and I didn't see the original 1961 Mothra movie to understand what was happening.
Yea this was really good!
HE'S BACK!!!!! The Trio is COMPLETE!!!!! Donna, Drew and Dallas you three are the best!!!

We have to check those out!

We may have to come back to Jason x
Lol gotta go see those poster! Lol

Them taking Jason with them was smart but risky. They figured if Jason won the fight he would be home and not need to kill anymore. The logic was there but how the hell did they carry him lol

Hey Kelly! Believe most of those are on the list!

I love this film even though Kane Hodder wasn’t Jason in this one which is unfortunate. I also thought the choppy frame rate in some scenes was a little goofy and cheesy. Still, this is one of my favorite horror movies.
Nice!
She said “I don’t like the way your upset looks versus my upset 😳” 😂😂
Lol
This movie gets some hate, but I couldn't ask for anything more. I honestly didn't know what people really expected out of this kind of movie being made.
I think the part with Jason being afraid of water in his dream is apart of Freddy's powers of installing fear into anyone. Jason doesn't fear anything. But deep down inside is another story.
If I had to guess who would be the "hero" between Freddy and Jason, I'd have to go with Jason. Freddy is malicious, while Jason has become something of a force of nature.(or evil)
That makes sense!
That makes a lot of sense 👍
We have a question... what were people complaining about in this movie?
@@SomethingCinema Freddy not having a lot Kills

This is one of my favorite Halloween movies. This also co stars actor Jason Ritter son of late actor John Ritter. Always love your reactions I hope all Is well with you all. 🙂
Thanks for watching with us Michelle!
Hmm would’ve liked to see that!
A fun time!! Another fun reaction!! Like everyone else, I do hope we get to see the legends again! (Miss the campiness tbh haha) Curious what the next franchise to react to from you guys? 😬🤔

The reason why nobody was calling the police at the rave is because this was back in 2003 then not everyone had cellphones specifically high schoolers. Some did at my school but it was rare. I mean not one of them used a cellphone though out the movie.
Makes sense. Forgot when this movie was filmed lol
I was at the theaters once and a dude was handing out flyers for a movie screening, I signed up, they chose me, and it was this movie like 8 months before it came out. Surprisingly it's much better then jason's previous 3-4 movies. Dude folded in half in the bed is a sweet ass kill.
Nice !!!
Writers Damion Shannon and Mark Swift clarified that Jason being afraid of water was not in their script.
😂😂 makes sense
Took until this movie for Jason to go wild in public.
We know!! We like this Jason
It's not that Jason is afraid of water, he's afraid of drowning. In the dream world, Jason's not invincible, so he can actually drown there.

Oh yeah that would have been really out of nowhere if he popped up in hell with them
@@SomethingCinema From what I heard from multiple people on RUclips that was in the original script.
Probably Jason will win he's unstoppable
Oh damn!
Movie was good, not great but good,i don´t know whypeople hate it so much.
Good not great
The only thing I hate about this movie is that Freddy really only killed one person while Jason killed a everyone else.
We understand but it fits the plot
This Jason Voorhees is the tallest he is 6'6 or 6'7
He looks it lol

The dude wearing the Spider-Man hoodie made me you guys were watching this Halloween in October

Didn’t even think of it like that!
Yea we just think all he does is come into dreams and not how deep he goes.

We would’ve loved to see them both dragged to hell!
@@SomethingCinema yeah it would have been badass fs. But I felt like a Hellraiser cameo would have been a little cliche but entertaining, most definitely.
Definitely !!!
Interesting
This one was fun. You can't go in expecting an amazing plot but it's definitely entertaining to watch. The comics of Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash & FvJvA: Nightmare Warriors were fun, too.

Yeah Jason isn't afraid of water or Drowning. Plus Jason doesn't dream but like one of your viewers commented that the writers were lazy and had to help plot. Enjoyed your reaction and ready for Jason X
We don't know why they wrote that in
The guy's friend was my favorite character, once he died the only interesting characters were Jason and Freddy lmao. Lmfao. That's what brought the movie down for me and is a BIG HUH? .
Those were some good characters
To be fair. Kane's Jason was still alive and needed to breathe.
😔😔
@@GangstaStan010 I mean Jason has been kinda dead this entire franchise lol, im pretty sure he died again again though in part 6 jason lives and Kane hodder started playing him in part 7 the new blood, and he was definitely dead dead at that point did you see how his face looked, the prosthetics were great lol
@@lashawnmcmillian4632 Yeah I remember that. But, I think he wasn't completely immortal until after Tommy drowned him and Jean Grey brought him back. Lol

🤔🤔
I don’t think so lol she killed him. He was just being disrespectful cuz she took his other set of finger knives. He hates Nancy’s mom and Nancy the most I think!
@@oni6903 She could have killed him because once she found out he really was and hide the affair. Just spitballing the idea because of what was said in the movie.
