I love the no intro intro lol, super cool that you go directly into business
❤️
Agreed!
I swear you're the only actual TRUE beauty guru/teacher left. Every single tutorial you post is so helpful to *every* face. *Thank you* for doing what you do!!
She is one of the very few who is actually teaching others. Most others just filming themselves making vain/narc. videos without even educating anyone which is weird if you think about it
You're very good at explaining the process and what you use and everything, I know nothing about makeup but with these videos I feel confident in the little I've learned
This is why I do it right here! 🙌🏼❤️❤️❤️
Same here.
I'm sure it wasn't you intention, but the most impressive thing about this vid to me is you are ambidextrous with application!! I cannot. I would poke myself blind LOL. And not just the mascara, you did the curling with both hands too! You go girl! You have skills for so many things.
Haha the dude series is my favorite! 😂💛
saaame!
I was just thinking the same thing! I know something interesting is coming!
Saaaammeee
Along with eyeshadow as liner, using colored mascara..... I was doing this technique in the 80s. It definitely was the precursor to the fox-eye look. Only coating to outer lashes and pulling them to the outer corner, really gave that sleek, elongated shape!!!! My gosh, I am SO thankful for you, Alex!!!! You're always here to help and guide us with such dope techniques!! Blessings to you!! ✌️💚🙏
I have always applied my mascara that way because I find it looks better with my almond eye shape.
@@Sandrine_Damfino no wonder straight-up lashes *always* look funky on my almond eyes. This is the first time I’ve ever tried the technique of angling outward and it makes all the difference. I wish I knew sooner.
i feel like this is a mega hack for people with long faces (i own one of them haha!) to widen the eyes visually. if someone has eyes that are too wide apart, they can concentrate most of the mascara application in the middle and maybe a bit on the inner corners. Makeup is so versatile!
wait thats smart
I do that. I only put mascara on the outer corner because I have a long ass face
The Dude series is everything to me!!! Thanks for these!
This is great! Mascara placement really does make a difference. My favorite way to style my lashes is to skip the curler and coat the lashes from base to tips brushing diagonally; to finish, I use the tip of the wand to load up the lashes on the end of my eye to create a winged eye effect. It looks flirty and cateye-like, and as a bonus it helps guide my eyeliner if I try to add a wing ❤️
Love how you teach us that simple things change the whole look. That the artist perspective.
Love it! Sometimes I load my lashes and then use my finger to push my lashes to the outer side. It gives you more of a bambi kind of look.
Kudos for thinking outside of the box when it comes to content. So many beauty guru's recycle ideals. I've never seen a video like this and it was so informative. It was clear and straight to the point. I am now a new subscriber. Can't wait to check out the rest of your channel
I never thought about applying mascara that way, but it makes total sense. Definitely learned something. 🤯 Thank you!
🙌🏼
Very interesting! It’s extremely helpful to see the different application techniques side by side to determine what kind of effect you want your makeup to have. It’s really nice to have these skills to customize your makeup for you. Thank you! This series is the most helpful thing I have ever come across makeup wise.
I've always applied my mascara the second way and never really thought about it, though recently I started using your pulsing trick which makes a big difference. I'll definitely try out the other way for more natural looks and see how I get on.
I agree....makes a big difference!
Right??
This is definitely something I’ve been playing around with recently! It’s fun to change up mascara to match the eye look you do. Thanks for all the little tips and nuances! You’re amazing ♥️
Sometimes the simplest thing makes the biggest difference! I'm trying just the outer lashes tomorrow!
Can you do a full face of your faves?
Your recommendations are so reliable.
Also I looove just watching you play with makeup. Its fun and relaxing. Keep up the good work
Your voice is really calming, you're explanations are on point, and the videos really easy to understand. Thx a lot. Im frankly horrible at makeup.. bingewatching your yt vids
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! After wearing falsies exclusively for two years I came back to mascara and realized I have no clue how to apply it to suit the makeup I do now (the new placements Alex taught me to flatter my face shape better). You’re an absolute life saver once again🙏
I always did the straight way but I am excited to try the angled version now. Very interesting video 👍🏼 Also, I’m a huge fan of eye makeup and love new techniques. Would love to see more videos on eyeliners, mascara, eye shadow, gel liner, eye brow freezing/ laminating. Anything on eye makeup would be 🔥
Now that I’m older I find emphasizing my lashes outward is better. Love your channel. I look forward to you releases. 😊
Dude....all the small tips n tricks you give us really make a huge difference😘💕
Such a good lesson, and the tip of dragging the curler up at least 3x is SERIOUSLY the tip I've always needed, thank you!!!🙏💕🌺
I really love the way you explain everything and it makes it easier to recreate.
Whatever you demonstrate you look fantastic. You make it look so easy 😉
Thank you so much for educating me. It’s the tiniest application details that make a huge difference.
Excellent video!!! I've noticed this difference before but never really put thought into it. Thank you for showing it and how and why it works!
I definitely do the fuller/ straight up look. Sometimes I’ll do the more cat eyed look.. I think my face looks better when I do that but the lashes up close look better to me when I get all of the lashes and go straight up.
I also don’t use a curler. I do three coats of mascara. I do the base of my lashes on one eye, then go to the other, then go to the bottom lashes. Then I go back to the first top lashes after they dried a bit and do the same rotation but focusing on the mid section of my lashes (length wise). Thennn I go in rotation one more time and do the top end of my lashes. For whatever reason that makes them curl 🥳
Me too!!
I do the same and yes, it really works!
Thank you for the detailed description!! Trying tomorrow
So true, bestie, mascara is a life saver when it comes to shape of the eyes
TRUTH
I am really IN LOVE with this series 🤗✨💖💋
Edit: It's my first time seeing your eyes this close and our eye color is literally the same. I'm shook 👁️👄👁️
😭🙏🏼❤️
@@AlexandraAnele 🤭🥹✨🤗💖🥰
I commented the same thing the last time she uploaded a video where there was a close up of her eyes! I guess our eyes are triplets haha
Im definately gonna try this. 💕✨️ you look so gorgeous as always!
Just found you by chance on RUclips and have been watching your videos all morning! Thank you so much for all of the information and for detailing each process. I have never known what I’m doing makeup wise, but I feel I’m learning so much from you and look forward to trying it!! I absolutely loved the different eye color video and especially why to use a waterproof mascara! I too have very fine, blonde, straight eyelashes and can’t wait to try a waterproof on my trip to Iceland starting tomorrow!
You are one of the prettiest people I've ever seen. Naturally.
Dude! Love this series! When I was younger I had big round eyes with long lashes… now that I’m older, I still have long lashes but now have hooded eyes…. I get mascara all over the place! Thankfully it flakes off. I’m going to try this tip, can’t wait until tomorrow to see. Thanks Alex.
I like the eye with regular application much better
Love this tutorial! I use to use the CoverGirl mascara, but I had a problem with it flaking throughout the day. So now I use Maybelline.
Dude series is wicked good, love it!
🙌🏼
Wow! Thank you for this!! It works- just tried it🎉 Dang, for 55 yrs I've been doing my lashes kinda wrong 😩 I don however use the handle and of a show brush to push the lashes up while still drying😁
Super cool! Could totally see a difference between your eyes. Trying it now. 👀
I appreciate your explanations so much, I’ve been binging your vids since this morning. In fact I need to update my comment from earlier where I was excited to try one of your tips!
I like to accentuate my outer lashes, but since they are so straight and actually go down like a horse, I push them toward the middle instead of pulling them outward and that brings them up on the outer edges. I love you bye-bye.
I like to do both. For the center, I go straight up, but as I go towards the outer lashes, I angle more and more. It's kinda like mimicking the way my brow hairs lay. I find that to be the most flattering.
Yaaay, I didn't think you would go back to these videos! Can't get enough of them! They seem to get quite popular too :)) 🥰
That's a nice one! I used to hate make up just because of mascara my eyes looked rounded and I thought it is not for me the mascara! Thank you for the first method I ignored that before!!
I always do the right cause it makes my eyes look so much bigger. Can do you a video on true brown mascara? (not brown black)
Like compare how it looks vs a black mascara? or a brown mascara makeup look. Ive been super curious about it.
Yesssss
And brown vs black eyeliner
Or eyeliner vs eye pencil.
I love this comparison stuff
I always did the straight way but I am excited to try the angled version now. Very interesting video 👍🏼
You are literally the cutest, Alex. LOL. I love that one that goes to the side. I've never done that before and gonna try tomorrow. I am always the one on the right.
i’d love to see a silicone free drugstore makeup look! Maybe for oily skin
You are lovely. You have the voice of coach Natalie 💕
I'VE NEVER SEEN SOMEONE PULL OFF THIS HAIRSTYLE THIS AMAZINGLY YOU ARE SO GORGEOUS GIRL
Wow great idea! Thanks
That’s really sad if curling your eyelashes grosses ppl out. That’s weird. Honey you are fine and you do amazing!
Well you did it again! I like to accentuate the size of my eyes as well as tight lining and a tiny flick of eyeliner and voila this method of applying mascara will help a lot of people who have a smaller eye/little real estate to steal your term. Luv ya💋
Difference it's clear... really well explained. I like both sides, depending on how you prefer your eye look this day
Love this. I have really sparse lower lashes and never use mascara on them but I might try this.
It’s a good option!
I swear I like every video before watching because I know it’ll always be good coming from you 🙌🏼🙌🏼 btw your eye color is so mesmerizing and beautiful 😍 I love you 💕
Thanks for Making videos ❤️
you’re so beautiful. your skin is PERFECT. my goodness ✨
Hi Alex, for the lash curler I would suggest you a different technique: I can see you use it several times on the same line (the base), but I would say to use it several times on the base and then move the curler at mid length of your lashes (not along the lash line but along the length of the hair if it makes sense). In this way the curvature will be much more accentuated. Love your tips!!💓 Marika
You are hands down the best guru out there
I try do do both. I want the fullness of the round look, but I want the corners fanned out. I want ALL the lashes. 😂
This tip is great because i have naturally really long eyelashes and i always get transfer at the inner corner which then can also bleed into my inner tear duct where i like to highlight and it just gets a little messy , this tip is great for that lifted foxy eye look to where you can cut half a false lash and apply it to the outer corner without having to worry about the lash not sticking to the inner corner, thanks for this Alex your are truly an artist 💕
Yes! I have really small, round eyes and I stopped putting mascara on the middle lashes, I sweep it out to the outer corner to give them more almond shape ❤❤
OMG THAT FIRST 30 SECONDS!!!!! ive NEVER been able to maintain a lashcurl bc my lashes are so stubbornly straight. Im going to try this omg
My god , you are so beautiful ! Love your videos !
Both look really good honestly it really depends on if your wearing eyeshadow and how your wearing it that day if your wanting a round open doll eye or a sleek cat eye.
I am 72 with small hooded eyes
and hace the same problem. I discovered that I should use a waterproof mascara with a slim wand, like the Maybeline recommended in this video.
I think this is great. Thanks for sharing. I have fairly long lashes, but for some reason they don’t seem to stand out when I do my eye makeup. If you could show us your take on a lashes prominent look that would be greatly appreciated.(no fake lashes please)
Thank you for everything you educate us on, it truly does help and mean a lot.🫶🏼😊
Love your deep dives on technique. The difference is subtle. I prefer your right eye. I have unwittingly been using this technique because I don’t seem to have lashes in my inner corners near my nose. 😂
I love your tips and tricks. They really do help!!
I have almond shaped eyes, so I love making them look rounder. (pulling the mascara straight up)… funny how I never thought about this before!
Really great tip! Thanks! This will work great for me-
I’ve always done fuller while trying to accentuate the outer edges...so kind of both I guess? I have hooded eyes...always trying to figure out what would suit me best. Thanks for the video!
You catch all the nuances! I have long and curly lashes …. And I started to notice in some of my photographs that though my lashes looked long they were making my eyes look too open and slightly crazy 😳 applying upward root to end… my favorite Eye shape will always be that Marilyn Monroe cat eye longer corner look!! This gives me a template now for when I want that come hither
Looking forward to trying this, thanks😘
Oh, the straight up one looks great! It seems to open up your eye.
I l❤️VE your base!
I do the same as it gives a “Marilyn Monroe “ touch. Love ur advice!
Going to try it both ways. Thank you
Thank you! ❤
I actually do a combination of both! I do my upper lashes the second way because they are short and straight so i need them to look full, and my lower lashes the first way because they’re long and curled so if i coat all of it downward it will drag my eyes down which isn’t what I’m looking for most of the time
Great video as always!!❤️❤️
Great video!
Yesss! It makes a HUGE difference and I am really glad to see someone talking about this!
I have quite a pronounced natural 'fox eye' but started applying mascara diagonally as I do not have much lid space and also to make my eyes appear further apart. Sometimes I mix both methods in order to get a full 'fan' of the lashes.
I'm currently in love wearing mascara, and I usually just coat every part of my lash, inner and outer. But now I wanna try the other way.
Have you tried heating your lash curler before you use it? Works the same as the hair on your head. The heat changes the bonds in each hair and the. Locks in the curl as it cools
Thanks!
Love you!!!!!
Love this! Curious how you would do your eyeliner or eyeshadow with each style.
I NEED UR SKIN CARE ROUTINE WOW
Duuuuude I LOVE that nose bridge accessory, or is it a piercing? It looks beautiful on you :)
My lashes are so short & thin that I can barely put a curl to them, truly, and they’ve only become more wimpy as I’ve aged. Also, between my sunk into my head eyes, naturally crepey lids, and heavy hood, doing anything with a lot of steps is just asking for a mess. Also, the softer the mascara color, the better on me, so I stick with brown & plum. So, just let me live vicariously through you. 🤓
You.are.the.BEST.woman!
I like both, I personnaly like to do the version on the right. I guess it could also be a trick depending on how much space there is between someone's eyes, the one on the left would make them seem more apart, whereas on the right it would change nothing or even make them look closer togeher
love an unproblematic queen
Just an idea for you…I would love to see a video of you showing the amount of makeup you apply daily, and what looks good to your naked eye, and then how much more you need to apply for photography and what it looks like through the cameras lens.
I only apply mascara to my upper lid, focusing mainly on the middle of my lashes. And I don't use black mascara. I will use either brown or dark brown if I'm trying for a darker look.
But with the combination of my skin tone, hair color, eye color etc, I just don't like how black mascara fits my face. It's to harsh against my natural appearance.
I also use either a light brown or red toned eye liner but only on my lower lid. Keeping the center of my top lid as clean and bright as possible even if I use pigmented eyeshadow.
mascara is my FAVE thing!
Thank you for the video Alexandra👏👏, love your nose bridge jewelry, if I can call it that, where can I get one😅😅
love you gal!
I need a skinprep before makeup video🥲
