    There's no one better than Howie. The guy is so good at calling these games, so much fun to listen to.

      Murphy with Cohen was also incredible. Grew up listening to them and they painted the picture beautifully. I think Howie is a walking NY Mets encyclopedia.

      And humble! Never seems like a homer… calls it pretty much down the middle except a little extra excitement for the Mets. Just how it should be.

    Howie for the Broadcasters Hall of Fame and I don’t want to hear it! The Mets were that close to the WS against the Yankees and you gonna let him go to the Mets? No way! Yankees and Dodgers two of the most arrogant entitled fan bases. Gonna be fun to watch.

    • @bannankev
      @bannankev 2 месяца назад

      How funny you chose arrogant and entitled. Now I don’t know about you. But if you REALLY thought the Mets were winning it all. That is delusional my friend. Look that one up while you’re at the entitlement and arrogant. Because I just simply call that being better, having better players and most importantly WINNING. Now, before you go spewing out the mouth how much winning have you seen? I’ll tell ya, I’m over 40. So Ive seen it FOR YEARS. NOT A SHORT SPURT LIKE A SEASON WORTH. You are delusional they weren’t winning. Was it fun yeah it was. But they weren’t winning.

      @@bannankev not at all…i do not expect the Mets to be a contender until they have built up their farm system. The plan is to be Dodgers East. We trust our GM. If you don’t win will you all yet again call for Cashman to be fired?

    • @1983metsfan
      @1983metsfan 2 месяца назад

      @bannankev you couldn't be more wrong. Who had a better team on paper the mets or brewers? Who won? Who had a better team on paper the mets or Phillies? Who won? It's about getting hot at the right time. That's baseball. Look at the winners of the world series the past 20 years. The best team in baseball won the world series twice. Twice out of 20 years. People lie numbers don't. Theres an old saying in baseball and it couldnt be more true. Just get in the dance and you have a shot.

    Good info. No way a player like Pete at 30 is going to take a 3 year deal. that is suicide. I would want 6 years. If the Mets only offer a 3-4 year deal he is gone and I don't blame him.

      I would like to get Vladdy Jr and Tatis, + possibly even de la Cruz from the Reds...All young enough to create a dynasty...No need for Soto and if Pete finds greener pastures then let him...Even though I like Pete...Vladdy, Tatis and de la Cruz would require trades and $$$s...but those three with Lindor and Vientos up top would be LA-like + and probably the most feared batting order in MLB...I think pitching needs far less adjustment, if Senga rounds into prior ace form next season...!!

    It isn't all coming from outside; new players have marginal impacts, regardless of how they are touted. The real fix for the Mets is Plate Discipline. Stop flailing at out of strike zone balls. Make them pitch to you, just like the Dodgers made Mets pitch to them. Prodigious results follow preparation and patience.

  • @bannankev

    I don’t care if Soto leaves. He very clearly wants money. I would rather have players that want TO WIN FIRST AND FOREMOST. THE MONEY COMES IF YOU PLAY GREAT. Great players don’t need great money. They make it because they are worth it. Soto has so so defense. You ain’t paying him for defense for damn sure. It’s his offense side. But defense can be a liability. Those are facts. He wants money or ANYTHING. I’m good if he leaves. If he stays I’m good too. But we are gonna be hurting in other areas. Bet on it.

    • @stanfromwestport2024

      "so so defense"...NO, Soto is terrible in the outfield...actually one of the worst in MLB...!! He should actually be a DH ONLY...Which is sad for a 25 year old...+ puts Stanton at a first base conversion.

      I'd flip that to LAD in 5...but, that's just me and my analytics....We'll know soon...No way the whiner Gerritt Cole shuts down the LAD twice - which is required for your projected outcome....!! Not to mention, the NYY have 3 legitimate batting threats, whereas the LAD have 6....!! So, there's that...and LAD bull pen is legitimately better than NYY pen top-to-bottom

    Howie Rose talks like a guy who just happens to broadcast Met games. He doesn't try to pretend he is an expert at evaluating players. Then there are these two guys. Both have no experience in evaluating baseball talent other than watching and betting on games. Yet, they talk as if they know more about the game than the people who actually either played the game professionally or are paid to evaluate talent and make front office decisions. They are the reason sports talk radio is unlistenable.
