What is your favorite Catholic travel tip?

We love going to Mass wherever we are on vacation. It so fun to see other beautiful churches and especially receiving Jesus while on vacation.

Agree- we also love to see other churches, and then it's wonderful that no matter where we are, the mass will still be beautiful and familiar :)

Thanks for sharing these excellent tips. When my parents were alive, we never knew when we'd have to get on the medevac plane to take them to the hospital so I always had a backpack packed & ready to go. I kept a rosary & holy water in the bag so I'd never forget. I still keep them in my backpack that always comes with me when I travel. Whenever we were getting ready to leave the hospital & patient housing, I would stop at the door & give thanks to God for healing us, giving us this good safe place to stay & to continue to bless & protect us on our journey back to the village.
    I'm so, so grateful you're here !

I did not know we could ask the Holy Souls to pray for us or look after our house and pets! I always pray for them. Thanks for passing on your wisdom and knowledge.

Yes- the holy souls can definitely pray for us and help us. We love knowing that they look out for us!

Great tips. This is the prayer I recite when traveling:
Dear God, Please protect us on the journey we are about to take. Support us with Your strength and grace when we are weary. and guide us to make our time together meaningful and memorable. Amen

What awesome ideas for traveling! I like to carry a medal of Saint Christopher. When I was growing up, we would invoke his intercession before taking a trip or even just before leaving the house. I still do this.😊 God bless you both! ❤

I love these tips! I've never thought of choosing a patron saint for our trips. I didn't know about Holy Souls praying for our home and pets. You know I love making pilgrimages to shrines and holy sites. We've got our pilgrimage for June planned. I can't wait to use your tips. Sending much love to both of you. ❤

Wow, you two really get around! One minute you're in Paris, the next you're in Argentina! (I like your backgrounds.) There's a book (which I haven't read--just read a review of it) called Monuments, Marvels, and Miracles: A Traveler's Guide to Catholic America, by Marion Amberg, published by Our Sunday Visitor. It sounds like it might be a great book for planning a vacation.

Lol- we had fun picking out our backgrounds. We're really good at armchair traveling :) We've had our eye on the book you mentioned! Waiting for a sale...

I wish I watched this video about 2 weeks ago. I had a business trip to Wash DC. I honestly didn't know about th JP2 National Shrine and the Inmaculate Conception Basilica. It was a magnific blessing from the Lord to point me out there. I got to visit both in some free time. Not as long as I would've liked but as deep as I couldn't imagine. I am still on a bliss. This week, we are on family vacation, and I asked if there was a basilica nearby and there is one 45 min from here. I plan on going. My unexpected visit to the shrine and basilica in DC has changed my traveling perspective. We always focus on visiting famous places, but now I am aware I can be blessed by visiting local Catholic spots. Knowing Jesus will always be there for me is an incredible feeling. This video and my experience in DC will def change the way I travel from now on. ❤❤❤❤❤❤ i did brought my book (JP2 5 Loves by Jason Evert), my rosary, holy cards, and my rosary bracelet.

This is beautiful! We're so glad you were able to visit the shrine and basilica in DC. We are finding that there are so many more Catholic places to see and visit than we ever imagined, and they are so inspiring. It's another wonderful reason we feel so blessed to be Catholic!

Nice to see Catholics active on RUclips. I carry the rosary everywhere I go a habit my mother instilled in us. But the Holy water is a good idea.
