Watching this now after seeing our queen's funeral ,makes all the prep work you all go through to give the world's stage the greatest display on that day ,thank you all for your service to queen ,country and the world x
I had the great pleasure and privilege to stumble upon the King's Troop performing a dress rehearsal for the Major-General's (?) Review in Regent's Park. It was very misty, and in the tight confines the gunners had to wheel between the trees - those on the outside at considerable speed! The whole spectacle was utterly mesmerising, and I'll never forget the sound of chinking brass and bronze. Made me proud to be British!!

Rose Ashley I'm not so upset but confused as to why a cavalry regiment that has the privilege to preform in front of the qeen if thier nation could have horses that appear to be so untrained
@Soviet solider horses don’t last forever. all horses have to go through training in order to become a well behaved, obedient horse. they don’t just buy pre trained horses; they do all the real stuff her and look after + train the horses themselves
Soviet solider I am confused as to where you saw the untrained behaviour. Artillery horses perform their roles at a gallop, not a sedate walk and so are extremely fit.

@@TheCarty91 Nose and ear whiskers are needed for a horse to sense things close to their face that they can't see. Horses have eyes on the side of their head, meaning they can't see what's directly in front of them - those whiskers help them feel objects close to their heads but out of their line of sight. Horses with trimmed nose and ear hairs have been known to sustain more face injuries, because they put their faces close to sharp things (nails sticking out of fences, burrs, thorns, stall door locks, etc.) and since they can't feel they're there, they end up hitting their faces.

They don't lunge before exercise. They have at least a mile walking through the streets to get to the park where they salute. And they don’t “ stand for hours” being groomed.
Is this part of the regular military service and I’m curious to know what are your thoughts on these injection mold shoes is it something that would be used on the queens horses
BRAVO to the men and women who honor the Queen and Now King Charles and their service to their country. The amount of energy with the horses making them look so grand, just amazing. Thank You
Dear God I see that they take good care of the horses appearance but do they train them beyond green breaking them? Half of them were high stepping like Mexican dancing horses and the othiers were in a long trot and most had their heads infront of the riders face obstructing thier view and putting them and everyone else around them in danger
Its a parade there ceremony guns something you would see in the battlefields in the days 🐎were used in battle the show is more for aesthetics not to show off a gun this is more for showing off the 🐎 and the professionalism of the Calvary
What am I doing? - Those 13-pounder guns are actually used firing blanks for Royal Salutes and the like, and I think many, if not all were used in action during WW1.
They do get fired, and it's worth watching, if only to see the amazing smoke-ring that screams out of the barrel, then grows to about ten yards across as it slows to a halt.

fit for the Queen.
How magnificent! 🥰🙏🏻🇿🇦
@0:23 horse is like a little privacy please lol
It makes me sad that they trim their whiskers and ear hair. I would've thought the queen wouldn't condone this, since she cares for horses deeply.
It doesn't seem to hurt them or negatively impact the horse they seem not to care

I know it is sad. They have to cut their mane and fore lock for safety reasons put their poor whiskers
@Srijit Surendranath ummmmm🤨🤔🤣
We don’t trim them throughout the year, only on salutes which happen about 3 times a year. Trimming them that little doesn’t cause them any harm :)
Honestly the only thing I don’t agree with is shaving the horses whiskers

How is that Captain also a farrier? I thought officers weren't allowed to be farriers, or is that only in HCav?
Jimsy probably come up from the ranks
Seems like an unusually menial task for a captain. Even if he did come up through the ranks, you'd think his job would change with the rank.
He isn’t a farrier, he’s the master farrier. He’s in charge of all the actual farriers. He’s definitely not touched a horses foot in decades 🤣

Lots of work and the horses look really good. Do you lunge them before they go out or is it straight away after standing for hours being groomed?

Those stalls are so small! Or is that the stall for tacking up?
Tacking up
mooop l thank you. QwQ
Horses need their whiskers!! Grrrrrr.....
Why are you cutting the whiskers, getting rid of the senses isn't going to give you a well performing horse
Are the farriers always officers?
Don’t think so, usually just those who have retired from ceremonials
...I think
Just curious - why do King's Troop horses have their forelocks shaved?
1:04 She touches horse's nose and almost touches her nose.
Do the horses love a scratching behind ears?
Read an article a few weeks ago that it was wrong to shave rgw hairs round the mouth and that it was painful.
But might have this wrong.
🥰👍
Why do you shave their whiskers?
I thought shaving off whiskers was no longer allowed.
Dear God I see that they take good care of the horses appearance but do they train them beyond green breaking them? Half of them were high stepping like Mexican dancing horses and the othiers were in a long trot and most had their heads infront of the riders face obstructing thier view and putting them and everyone else around them in danger
These are very well trained when they retire lots of them go to competition, hunting and general riding homes
Raf? That sucks horse is not well
Speres people
whats with the short barreled artillery? Are britbongs too scared of loud noises for you guys to fire off a few blanks?
? But they do usually fire some blanks
