Jack Dempsey Cichlid Male or Female Differences?

Telling the difference between male and female jack Dempsey, Cichlid can sometimes be difficult. Male Jack, Dempsey Cichlid is going to have a lot more coloration and be a larger fish in size. The dorsal and anal fins are going to be a lot longer on male jack Dempsey fish. It’s very hard to tell the difference between male and female sexing until the fish are mature and adults.
Oven. I’ll jack Dempsey Cichlid’s are very hard to sex. If you’re trying to breed Jack Dempsey, Cichlid, fish maybe reconsider. These are aggressive, cichlids and don’t have a lot of people buying this fish. Fish stores have a hard time getting rid of cichlids like this and I don’t feel it’s necessary to try to breed these to populate more of them.

I've had many many Jack Dempseys. Ignore the fins. Go by this... Males blue stops just below the eye and females blue goes all the way down like a beard. The females have more colourful faces. Such great fish. Enjoy.

I have an EBJD and a Reg JD who I paired together just because I have a big enough tank, was not trying to mate them. But turned out they were lick lopping not because they were mating but because they were both males and fighting. Since then iv removed one male and he is not living in harmony with a Oscar. But now that both Jack Dempseys are mature and larger I’m looking to find a female. I currently purchased one online that was “vented” but judging off of its color and patterns and my experience with makes it looks like another male

I have a jack dempsey and I’m just trying to identify their gender so if I get more, I can make sure that I don’t put more than one male in the mix 🤷🏼‍♀️
