What a tremendous actor Edward G Robinson was, he could play any kind of part and be believable, from the nastiest criminal to a milk toast as in this movie.
Never bought him as a bad guy outside of having to suspend belief for Hollywood's sake. He's a 5-5 Jewish dude and not intimidating in the least. He's really a Mr Winkle.
