- With the recent news of Portnoy returning to the fold, the boys felt it was high time to finish off their DT album tier list in anticipation of the second era of Portnoy.
PLEASE NOTE: the boys recorded this prior to any word of the lineup change so for the duration just pretend that Mangini is still in the group (even if it hurts a little)

agree with Octavarium, the title song and everything that builds up to it is beautiful, but every other song is kinda unremarkable, Panic Attack, These Walls and Sacrificed Sons are great, never enough is a cool "I'm tired of your shit" song but it kinda feels like it belongs in Falling Into Infinity, The Answer Lies Within and I Walk Beside You are both corny af but still enjoyable, and then The Root of All Evil is still a good song but again, there's almost nothing to say about it, yeah it's a song from Octavarium, yeah it's part of the twelve step suite, but not much else, Octavarium as a whole is kinda underwhelming, aside for the title song like i said

In the first part i agree with everything but in this one it's a tragedy.
Only The Orchestration of Six Degrees should be in A, Train of Thought along with Scenes From a Memory?? No freaking way. The beautiful landscapes of Octavarium in C it's sacrilegious. Systematic is a Metallica album, not a dreamy DT's one (should be in D). Black Clouds is a modern masterpiece, should be in A.
All with Mangini don't go above C. Dramatic Turn is the only album savable, everything else is another band, not DT.
