I wish you guys should've spoke more about the history of the place, how it came to be, where it's located, the cost of a stay etc... However the vlog was super cool and very unique to say the least and can't wait until the sub is "operational" lol and you could drive it down to the entrance and park it there like a car!
I agree. Would be cool to know how long it's been in operation especially if they talked to the owner about the Guinness world record holders on how they managed to stay in the lodge for seventy-three days.

I've done it. I lived in Key Largo from the mid/late nineties to 2005 and worked as a dive instructor for Amoray Dive Resort and Quiescence Diving Services. Took students to Jules' all the time when the offshore conditions weren't cooperating for check-out dives. Had a buddy that ran the undersea lodge and we got to spend a full 24 hrs underwater one time. Got my AQUANAUT cert. Good times. If you dove with Amoray or QDS during those years, you'll know me 🤟🏻🤟🏻

That's where I spent my senior year. That place was so cool and I cleaned the bottom of the lagoo and cleaned the divers bell. That lagoon was the place that I learned to sleep underwater... not in the hotel on the bottom. Built early Reef balls artifical reef systems at Marinelab in the parking lot.

in theory yes you could, but you would more than likely suffer some baro-traumatic injuries from doing so. I did my open water checkout dive at blue grotto in Williston, Fl and they had an air bell that divers could go down to and take out their regs and breath and talk normally. They had warning labels all over it warning free divers not to approach since the air inside was compressed just like in the video. It's not good to go straight from surface pressure on an inhale to 20ft deep. I don't know what would happen exactly, but you very easily could hurt yourself

When I did my open water scuba certification 15 years ago, one of my first dives was there! Super cool place!

I actually went to a fishing charter at this place and had no idea there was a hotel underwater I saw the above ground dome structure but had no idea there was one so close by. Crazy thing is I got scuba certified on that same trip so I could have visited this!

Never knew such a hotel existed and I would love to go and spend at least 4 days. It sounds like a stupid question but I honestly don't know, but do you have to be scuba certified to stay here given you have to swim down to get in?. And are the nightly rate expensive?.. So you don't have to be scuba certified to be able to go down, if you're not certified you do a discover scuba diving course with an instructor which costs around $161 per person and the instructor will lead you down to the underwater lodge. Price per night for certified divers is $1,125, and roughly 300dollars more for their 24hr aquanaut package and $175 per meal
