Beautiful piece! By what I can tell with out seeing the watch in person it's a gorgeous pre comex, fat smudgy coronet, large serif on the L in Rolex, open sixes, correct serial range and curved s on submariner not to be confused with the zig zag s on a mk 1 maxi dial from mid 5 million serial sometimes referred to as pre comex because submariner text is placed under the depth rating also. The reason I know? I've got the mk1 maxi dial from 78 and till recently thought it was considered a pre comex! Close but no trophy. Dead giveaway between the two is the difference in coronets, fat on pre comex and skinny on mk1 maxi. Congrats it's a keeper, only thing I'm not sure of is if the plexiglass is original, my 5513's have super domes. I really enjoyed your video! Thanks for sharing!
Jimmy split 77 hi there, thanks for sharing your knowledge. I had the watch serviced by Rolex earlier this year and yes you’re correct the crystal was changed as part of the service, it didn’t have a superdome on it when I bought it. I’ve had quite a few different Rolex sports models over the years and the 5513, 1675 are definitely my favourites.
genuine.rolex yes I have to agree with your favourites, love the 5513's and 1675's, my grail piece would have to be a explorer dial 5513 but the way prices are going I don't know if it will ever happen. So how about you, any grails in mind?
I'm happy with what I have and since I started collecting nearly 15 years ago I don't want to pay the prices that are being asked for vintage Rolex sports anymore, if I had the budget a 6263 Big Red black dial would be very nice!
Great video ,,really informative ,,,,I have a watch almost identical ,Could anyone give me a rough idea how much i should ask for it price wise ,,,,,|???
I have the same one and i bought it in 1978.

Classic piece and great condition
Oliver thank you 👍🏻
Just love it. Btw, dont need to polish at all, even if you keep and wear this guy for the next 40 years. It will keep having a great look.
What do you think between maxi 1 and precomex of 5513
