Nice vid, nice rig and setup. My friends and I were there the last week of January, right before you guys. Was wondering about that missing person poster too. I did a quick search and as of 11/29/2023, he's still missing. Anyways, you're right about taking things slowly going over difficult terrain like parts of Goler and especially Mengel Pass.
Did you visit Russel's Camp in Butte Valley? That's another great cabin. Your camp at the mouth of Goler Canyon was very close to the location where Manson's bus was cut up and buried in a mine shaft.
We didn’t visit Russel camp but that’s just another to go back, so much to see! That’s funny about the bus because we call that camp site ‘The Dump’. Lots of scrap metal has accumulated just below the site.
Nice video, and kudos for your sane vehicle operating. Seems like many want to rally on even the main dirt roads. Maybe they should go and rally on something like the Baja 1000. Speed is the main reason the roads get beat up as well, not to mention breaking their rigs.
That spare tire mount does not seem up to the job. Needs some clamping force against the trailer. Thanks for making these videos of your experiences with the tear-drop. I really do like the idea of it. But, unless a teardrop can do a deep water crossing I don't think its going to be the platform for me. To many times I have experienced even on basic trips, water crossings that would have been deep enough to get into those doors. Great video!
The spare is usually tight against the camper but I pulled it off recently and didn't strap it properly. Normally it doesn't move. Generally speaking I feel comfortable going through water up to the bottom of the doors but not the 30+" the Jeep can ford. It is sealed well but the windows would be the issue.
Sorry, I missed this question. Yes, the garden hose connector for the inlet has a cap that keeps it clean; however, the outlet is a quick disconnect and the sleeve is full of dirt and dust. This makes it very difficult to get the hose connected / disconnected. I've tried cleaning the sleeve to no avail.

Thanks Steve!
Nice video. What size tires are you running?
Thanks! 35’s

No reason why it shouldn't...as long as it's sealed well enough.

Did you have any dirt issues with the water connection on the bottom of the frame next to the tire fender?

Can you tell me what size Yakima rack you put on it?
LockNLoad Platform K, 55x49"
@@mainebumpkin1795 Thanks! Do you think the Platform B - 60 x 54 in would fit length wise? The extra width is really what I am looking for.
Yes, should be fine
