Git yerself a bunch of clear tubing and fill with antifreeze to make a 'water level' No need to to do numbers. Go anywhere and it will be the same-same. !! Woo-hoo !! Progress!!
levels with a laser also a cheap way to go.
I used food coloring in my water level on 2 a 3 story decks for 20 years
I used a long piece of string , a nail and a henweigh... works in Kentucky.
Chris Smalley what's a henway??? 3 or 4 lbs?? 😲🤔🤔🤣🤣🤣😳
I was an iron worker for 23 years. I am learning from you here Sir.
Sir, you do things your way and we're all ok! So happy on the progress you've made. Keep up the good work and as always thank you for helping all of us learn.
You will always get a know-it-all,
Telling you his way is best,
It's your barn, Build it your way!
Chad that is looking fantastic can't wait until part 3
I have to say I'm in my sixties and been involved in numerous construction projects, I've never seen this type of construction it bogles my mind. Congrats on finally getting started.....get er done.
I’m enjoying this shop build. This is my type of content. On a budget. Using what you got on hand. Using the help of family and friends. I love that you are using all the materials from the one you took down. This is a TON OF WORK. This is stuff I can 100 percent relate to. Real people doing real stuff , without an endless budget and a lot of fancy equipment. Much respect for for your work ethic and how you make stuff happen no matter what. Thanks. (Seth from North Carolina)
Using what I've got is the only way I know. 👍
Great work on the shop ,brings back memories for me of building mine and being up so high
Yall doing great job reminds me of when I built my shop in 1990 ..and just remember if u get any know it alls and smart butts they laughed at Noah when he was building the Art and u know how that all turned out lol😅 .great video
LoL yeah, riding in that bucket isn't a great idea. Last year my mom and I were trimming some high tree branches, she was in the bucket and I was driving. Well, we got the trees trimmed and I set her down just fine, but when I parked the tractor it turns out there were wasp nests in both arms and they all came out to say hi. They were remarkably good natured about it all as I had been driving that tractor around for about an hour. I did the only reasonable thing a man can do in that situation: I ran for my life 😁 I'm grateful they weren't feeling more sociable when my mom was 10 feet up.
🤣
Heck Chad. Why would anybody care if you are not building YOUR shed the way YOU want to. If it stands up and does what you want it to then you did it right. I reckon if someone hates it that bad then don’t watch. Simple. Good work, man 😊
Just wanna drop in and say I didn't see that the HV is on the far side of the pole, and not the building side. I now realize how silly I sounded last video. You all good dude. The bottom will be coax, the little single a ground, and then course the twister looking fella is your 240 for the house (I figures you know that, but just in case). Shops comin together really nice like. They need to make like a mini chainsaw for fancy cuts. I like this Mason fella, he's a smart cookie. I hope the weather cooperates with ya.
Remember no matter how many smartarses there are, it's your time, your money and your building. So disregard those. Every new project has a learning curve. Just take your time and be safe.
Thank you for every time that you said: I am not working on a Sunday.
YEAH!! you got trusses. I like bucket head boy. I've got a grandson like that. I can tell what the update it as I saw it... Keep doing things your way, as you are the only one that counts on your way of doing things. waiting again.
I have a buddy that says "fixed is fixed." Well that’s what you do. You identify the problem, whether it be a car or a building, and you figure out how to fix it. So fixed is fixed, and trolls are trolls. Hope you’re weekend is awesome!!
Dear Chad, keep doing things your way. It’s a pleasure to watch you enjoying the build. Don’t listen to any negative feedback. Best Wishes from England 👍😀🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Lookin' great Chad, and remember, no matter what any one says, the way you're doing it is always far better than the way others are not doing it! ;)
I would agree to all comments but only to a certain extent… 1st thing 1st, how bout EVERYBODY REWIND… and go back into the basic fundamentals of any and ALL CONSTRUCTION get some damn fall protection, safety glasses, steel toes boot/shoes, and a hard hat. U AINT gunna enjoy crap if u are in a wheel chair and blind!!
She's looking real good! Looking more and more like a nice, roomy shop. You'll be happy with it, I'm sure.
I just want to say you're going to have a good-looking shop when you get done you're doing a good job see you next week😊
I like the way that you get things done. I've seen others that bark about their deep pockets, but you can handle it with what you got or can make. Great video and can't wait till it's finished.
I can't wait to see you finish it up and see you work on the next video
Hey it's good to see family working together
Mr Chad, Your shop is going to be a great shop, your taking your time on it, and catching the goofs as you go and fixing them,Your bracing on the poles will make a big difference I think your doing just fine.
I think it's funny how many engineers and geniuses there are out here on the internet but they don't have the sense to speak to or about another human being with respect and care. I think you do great work (although I'm drawn to watching you because you do the same silly things that I do, as I suffer from the same problems as you I feel like I'm watching myself) and I comment sometimes on ideas I have that I've worked on too but I just don't understand how calling you names would make anything better. Also, I make more mistakes than anyone else does and that's how I learn. Also, haven't had a building I've worked on fall yet! May have had an engine or 3 blow up but that probably wasn't directly my fault.. Keep up the GREAT WORK Chad, I can't wait for Friday night to see how your week went!!
You might cut extra long 2x4's and place on lower section of truss near peak to act as temporary supports between them to keep tusses straight. They can come back down after roofing is installed.
sure would like those off cuts , your shop your way is the only way that matters going to be great mate
Can't please everyone so as long as you're happy with the outcome that's all that matters. Great job and great video as always 👍
Keep doing what you do. I enjoy this channel. Thank you.
Preshate it.
I enjoy your “make due” attitude and it’s an inspiration. No joke. I’ve mentioned your crafty solutions on my own channel videos.
👍
What a project!
I like your attitude on getting things done and showing us how you get there!
Thx a lot!
👍👍👍
Your Sunday truss discussion is exactly correct, first thing you do is put a rack brace from the peak of the gable truss to the ground. I learned to smile when I say that long ago :) .
They had blind welders welding the trusses with melted spoons anyway, so I am not surprised of the strength. Its possible to make each truss rely on the other for strength. Think of Tinkertoys, Erector Sets, etc. Physics is your friend. OR just wing it and hope for the best. I don't know how it goes up either. I worked for the teardown crew, loved that job!
Great video. I love seeing it all come together!!
Glad to see your shop going up! I know you are! Will be a good series! 👌👌
Love watching the channel. I'm learning some and have some ideas that might work better in spots. My Pop taught me to keep my mouth shut unless I going to jump in and help. I also have learned that the older I get the less I know. Lol
Glad to see the new shop coming together.
Glad to see you got them up. Don't let people bully you at all. Glad to see nobody got hurt. Yall doing some dangerous stuff anywhere. 14 15 ft in the air is dangerous no matter. Be careful. Looking good so far.
Glad to see your working on building your shop enjoying watching it and of course all your videos God bless
Of course it's going to be a learning experience, but the fact remains you got it done and it does look damn good Chad. Keep up the great work and be safe while you're doing so 👍✌️🇺🇲
Damn glad to see your shop coming together brother I know it's been a long time coming congrats
Awesome video!! Looks like some sketchy stuff I would do in the same predicament as this!!! 😅 It’s not stupid if it works!!!😂
Looking good, It will all work out just fine!!👍👍
Great job Chad! Eager to see the final product! Keep up the good work and please be careful!
Woo hoo!!! Happiest of Fridays y'all! As always, hope everyone has had a great week and have a wonderful weekend! 💙🙏🏼
Back at ya!
@@asgerms why thank you! 💙👊🏼
I love working with my older brother too thanks for the videos! 😂
Looking good my friend can't wait until you're in your shop
Enjoy watching you build the shop
Getting er dun! 🙂 Good thing you didn't add water to the mix in the ground me thinks cause you needed to shift that pole.
Never seen someone rig and paint their own roof supports, nice! saves you some cash. Looks like you have the build well in hand.
Thanks much for sharing!
Another awesome video Chad. I’m sure happy for you to finally be getting your shop built. Looking forward to the next one.
Good to see you trucking on getting your garage built thanks again for another excellent and enjoyable video some day I will build me one 🤠
Coming along nicely. Good work This N That!
Your way seems to be working fine my friend God bless you and yours
I like your rolling scaffold. Thats a great idea.
That bucket in your nephews head makes a good hard hat. He might be abke to patent that
I can't believe you just know how to build a building like that... Amazing
I guess as long as you think it wont fall down then its going to be strong enough for sure......
and yes i may have set the poles a little deeper and with full concrete to save cutting the wastage off the top
but looks like you are in a sheltered spot so wind wont be a problem
big sheds take a lot of doing....Good Job.....
Your scaring me being up that high and I was once a Roofy Dude, so please all of you be careful and thank you for the lessons I learn each video.
You and your mates are doing a great job Chad ! Sort all them nay sayers out buddy, your way works great for me ! Keep up the good work 🤙🤙🤙🤙
gratz, nice to see someone get more space for activities
Happy Friday to all!!!!!!Glad to see the second part of putting humpy Dumpty back to together like you said!!!!!!LOL!!!!!!! AWESOME AS ALWAYS!!!!!?!Have a great week till next week!!!!!!!!🤗🙏:-):-)🍿
I just love your videos and enjoy your humor in them
Great job Chad!!!
In Chad we Trust 💪🏽👈🏽
You're portable scaffolding is better than a saucer liff hands down.
good video! every friday i look forward to your video enjoy every minute of your videos, the new shop is gonna be so awesome to work in!
Man i have to say i truly love your channel. Love the way you figure things out by trial and error but at the end you get the job done. 💯 Everything you do is of major interest to me. my now deceased Father was a mechanic and just an all around man : Ace/Jack of all trades. And i can say you remind me so much off him. PLZ keep doing what your doing. And hopfully one day i could be of some help on a build someday 👍🏾
What sort of character snuck in and braced that truss to that telephone pole? 😂😂. I agree with you too about the way people say things. I work in retail and sometimes I lose hope in humanity, but people like yourself remind me that most people are good and kind. Thank you for the fun videos sir
You know I like your style when you run into a problem u-fix-it used what is given to you or gift your brain some people are Parts mechanics hey don't understand how to diagnose problems your master of what you do that is a compliment you don't whine about all I can't do this I don't know how to do that you just do it I enjoy watching you put stuff together working on your shop that's a challenge form I couldn't do sure I can put it do it in my head can't do it in my hands put a wrench in a car in front of me and I could take it apart and put it back together and no problem at all but you do it all don't let nobody tell you that their way is the right way and your way is the wrong way because your way is working you just do it you keep up the work don't get frustrated the world is crazy right now I enjoy watching your videos keep it up okay thank you so much God bless you
👍👍
I love watching you work on your garage, you was making me nervous being up there so high lol, I think you all r doing a great job, I can’t wait to see your next video ❤❤
when using the plasma cutter, you can lay a piece of flat bar next to your cut line and that will steady your torch for a cleaner cut
oh yes and oh by the way...i do like to think I'm a DIY person myself...but you bring it to the next level...cars..buildings..stoves....appreciate the videos....I really enjoy what you do and how you do it....ingenuity at its best...keep the videos comin'
I love all your videos and the hard work you put into everything you do
Nice video. Lateral stability comes from the lateral support on top between the trusses. The black square stock between the 2 halves should have stopped the twisting if tight. Ron PTL USA
Chad, I prefer to describe our way of doing projects and approaching problems as "Engineering on the fly". If it works, it's never a bad idea!
That's all I know how to do!!
'Timberrr' Ha nearly wet my pants. Love your work chad.
My oh My things are not always as they seem . You have a big boys leggo set and a mess of big boys things which you are figuring out at the right point ( The Beginning ) . I know that this build will be done right because you are that kind of man . God bless you and your helpers , I am sure HE is with you all the time . Press on in your own time and at your pace . Stuart in Ontario ..................
If I lived closer I’d sure help ya, glad you have family and friends that are there for you.
By the way… Sunday is a day of rest for my family and I as well. 👍🏼
👍
Thanks for sharing Chad, Kirk from Louisiana! 👋🏼👋🏼👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Respectfully there are four ways of doing a job 1. My way 2. The wrong way 3. Following the instructions 4. Ignoring the instructions. Just remember that if it won’t go - don’t force it - hit it with a bigger hammer. I have just found your channel and am loving it, best wishes to you and your family and friends😊
Carl!!!! Cool!
It's looking good l will look forward to the next video good job
Smart kid! YOU are up in the air, with tools and wood chunks, so HE put on a 'helmet'!
(Near the end) OUTRIGGERS!😁
👍🇺🇸😎
May not be what they call OSHA approved, but y'all took your time and it looked safe enough to me. It's definitely fun to watch.
Everyone’s a knowitall. Smh, ain’t none of them worth a damn. Block them all, and move on. I’ll tell you one thing… there ain’t too many fellers out there, that can get things done efficiently and economically, and solve problems on the fly like you do. There’s no cause for anyone to criticize your work. Your work is excellent. I love your channel.
As someone who builds these kind of buildings but on a much bigger scale professionay, it was very entertaining to watch.
I do think that these trusses are meant for ground assembly, its the wind thats bending it into a rainbow shape. If i were you i'd weld them together once you are finished. The 2 small bolts in the middle is not something i'd trust.
Besides that, amazing video as always!
The only thing they are holding up is themselves and some metal roofing.
That's gonna be a very nice shop
Great job, better than I could do.
You’re doing good Chad, to me it’s looking good brother! It’s your building anyway my friend and I don’t put negative comments! I don’t agree with smarta### people and it’s rude to post ugly comments anyway! Looks great and y’all are doing your best! I appreciate you sharing the build with us Chad, everyone isn’t perfect but some think they are! Looks good to me, your modification to the top of the pole! You’re doing fine brother! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👌🏻👌🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻 You might have to put two or three braces on the number 1 truss, whatever it takes to get it straight!
Lookin great guys !!!👍👍👍
I see that you are making progress on your new shop
Can't wait to see your shop Dude, like the fact your doing it with piling, grew up doing it with piling will last you forever and the grand kids as well. Thumbs Up, and yes theirs so many ways of doing this, love it, going to be a neat place to create....
Hi Chad the way you are doing it is perfectly fine also if you where to use wood trusses it would of done the same great job my friend , your Canadian friend Kevin
You have a lot more patients than I have. I would have been burning it down before it was built.
Great I love watching your videos you’re a man after my own heart you remind a lot of my self when I was younger I still do my own repair s good luck and keep the videos coming j h England
Coming along nicely Chad! Please be careful, a fall from those heights can be nasty!
I'm new here and I have to say I really enjoy your work. All real its like being there with you and I'm learning
Happy for you Chad! It's coming along nicely. I like your solutions to problems. Just tune out the naysayers keep doing what you are doing.
Build engines? Build workshops? You do it all!
Seems like some cross bracing could help with the floppy trusses. Might be able to use cables with turn barrels.
Don't let the nay sayers get to you .
A-ok brother, your way is your way.... best respect to you my friend. Keep doin' we'll be here!
"Augh-Ya" Not enough O's in the word Smooth to describe how things are going.
I only wish I was there lending a hand on the times you were on your own. A second set of hands goes a long way with jobs involving ladders / scaffolding etc. I can clearly see the direction and dimensions of his building after todays video. She's going to be a Dandy !! YesSir.
A Yankee-Doodle-Dandy . God bless you Chad and God Bless America ! Am I allowed to say that on Screw-Tube? 👍
