In the backstory Corpus was actually born before the nuclear war, so his disability isn't a result of mutation due to radiation like the Warboys with tumours. Which doesn't bode well for Joe's ability to sire healthy sons under any conditions.
I find it ironic how each one of Immortan's sons would be an incredible successor if not for a single flaw that undermines it all: Rictus, through insanely strong, is insanely dumb as well, Corpus' physical disadvantage and health prevents him from utilizing his intelectual capacity to the maximum and Scabrus is an unpredictable psychopath through and through. It's like fate's playing tricks on him; each time one of his women produces a baby, he's reminded time and time again he will leave no legacy whatsoever and the legend of an immortal all-mighty warlord will inevitably fade away as punishment for all his crimes; it's like a modern Greek tragedy.
