She could have sang the entire song in the original voice like she did many years ago, but holding that kind of upper register in her chest voice might prove difficult especially with a key change and aging vocals. Still, Mariah is Mariah, she can sing like an angel on her worst day and sound better than 90% of the 'artists' currently out there.
Mariah's voice is 99% she sounds amaaaazing, she only has problems at the very upper chest voice which is not constant, sometimes she hits it and sometimes she doesn´t because she must save her voice. She isn´t fearless anymore because she has nodules. I wish she could just have surgery, thing is it could take yrs for her whistle notes to come back, or maybe months or maybe never. But her chest voice would be 100%. She wants to take no chances with her whistle register which is her trademark!
Does she even have a whistle register right now? I agree with you, she should go ahead and just get the surgery. If it doesnt work out or even makes her voice worse, she can just keep on lip syncing like she does now. I wish she never would have started using drugs.... :[
Well deepsoul69BC, if it was prerecorded how does there were some of out of tune phrases, and those changes that she did, doesnt sound like it was prerecorded. If you have the doubt, go and ask her to sing that song in front of you.
I know what you mean, if I was there I wouldn't even breath because of my respect for this singer, I enjoy the song remaining in silence if I go to see her live
