This is what motor racing is all about. Nothing has or will come even close to the CART days of the 90`s/00`s. Its a pleasure to have seen it live in all its glory. Shame its only a distant memory now.
Wow, thanks for uploading this. Was there that day and won't forget how wild the crowd got when zanardi took the lead when he was almost a lap down earlier
0:09:36 I don't think I've ever seen a race car diver do a live commentary while he's driving a lap at full tilt. That is really cool and something to seen.
I was There too and remember it also. I also remember how excited we were when Helio was putting himself in deFarren's mirrors in the early laps down Sea Side DR. That was a great race. I was right there to see PT go sideways. At some point in his charge AZ bent a tow link through contact and I remember Robin Hill bending by hand back into place and sending him back out for the win. It was classic..
Man thanks for uploading this, i was there that day and wont forget how loud the crowd got when zanardi took the lead after almost being a lap down earlier!!
American fans are different from any other I've seen. They cheer for Zanardi, over Herta , and Herta is American. Same when Nigel Mansell came over. He was the crowd favorite every race. Can you imagine that happening in Germany or Italy?
I love Dario for a lot of reasons but the fact that he's the last guy left in IndyCar that raced AZ is one of them besides TK. I don't think any one could pull this off these days unless Power fell behind. As much as I care to admit it. He's the best driver these days but AZ would kick his ass.
In 2000 some CART teams began preparing to leave the series, a move motivated by continuing CART mismanagement, upset engine manufacturers, and sponsors that desired participation at the Indianapolis 500,...All over in 2003,......my all time favorite race cars!
This coverage is so much better than it is now. The directors and talking head these days are clueless about what is going on. Watch Speed's F1 qualifying vs. VS/NBC sports. They should be embarresed. They are looking at car in the pits while cars still on the track take position. This happens all the time. And the "experts" are just as bad. Jan B. and Wally Jr. have know idea what they are talking about. Wheldon proved that last year, in case any one didn't realize.
