Every game I had, from Sonic 2 (possibly the first VG I have memories playing), to my fave Sonic CD (which had no stage but did get a great rival battle), so Sonic Adventure 1&2, to Unleashed and Colors (which was like the perfect mix of Unleashed and CD), and now Generations. I'm happy. It's been some ride, Sega. Sonic speed.

I wouldn't describe myself as a Sonic fan, I never finished any Sonic game. But this game, god dang, I love it to the bitter end. To me it was perfect, it focused completely in gameplay; just play. At the same time it showed me the evolution of Sonic through history by choosing amazing stages to run around. I will buy ports of this game till the end of times.

Yeah and i remember in the 2006 footage whoever was playing did it pretty good. I believe they had to retake that gameplay footage several times just to get it right i.e. not to show any bugs because that game is a bug fest... Also, during Sonic Colors gameplay, whoever played also had to be careful now to show any Wii button prompts...
After this game I was so happy: Sonic is back! This game was a tribute to every Sonic game and the ultimate gift to Sonic fans new and old. C'mon Sega keep it up!
I still remember today when I saw the credits of this game for the first time, I had never played sonic in my life, and seeing that for the first time, seeing the cycle of all games, made me even more interested in the franchise, and today I played and finished them all (Sonic 1, 2 and 3, Adventure 1 and 2, Heroes, 06, Unleashed and Colors). Thank you Sonic Generations :)
We've now entered the Year 2021, and this not only marks the 30th Aninniversy of Sonic, but 10 years since Sonic Generations came out. God I feel so old.
I'll miss the days of the old Sonic games. They were awesome. I may be able to still play them... but it's not the same as when I discovered them. But the feeling of playing Sonic Mania... that's those nostalgic memories on a loop.
Too me, it isn't just the musical trip through memory lane, it was the fact that they included gameplay trips as well. I have no nostalgia for every thing '06 and beyond but everything before that was my childhood and early teens and this was so great to see.
This honestly was my very first sonic game,I never played any of the recent games before this but it opened me to all the other games in the franchise,this game is also the reason why I'm a gamer to this day,even if before I had a ds this made me more interested in not only Sonic but gaming as a whole, it's in my top 5 and it's probably my favorite game in the franchise as of now,first game I ever beat also and first I ever speedrunned my time was about 2 hrs, pretty average,just a great game all around though

I love that looking through the scrub bar. The replayability is pretty normal, pretty consistent... And then Seaside Hill hit.

@@TADSmart I know, but sonic generations itself says and i quote "Sonic & knuckles" in the medley, but i do know it's from sonic 3 & knuckles, believe me, i played the game all the way to the end.
I think of how me and the Dreamcast are the same age and both under appreciated in our time. If I live to 100 years old, I hope I can boot up SA2 on it.

With Sonic the Hedgehog I lived and learned.
I wouldn't describe myself as a Sonic fan, I never finished any Sonic game. But this game, god dang, I love it to the bitter end.
To me it was perfect, it focused completely in gameplay; just play. At the same time it showed me the evolution of Sonic through history by choosing amazing stages to run around. I will buy ports of this game till the end of times.
Thanks for the memories Sega! Wish you'd come back someday.
The transition from seaside hill to crisis city was smoother than butter
I can't believe this game is already about to be ten years old. Where did all the time go?! I still clearly remember how hype I was for this game. I was in high school and now I'm in my mid 20's. Time flies way to fast.😢
I can't believe this is getting a remake. It'll be sweet to play this again on newer titles

My favorite sonic game hands down if only they gave us stage pack dlc or made a sequel what could have been but none the less a classic and definitely one all sonic fans should have in their collection

Yeah and i remember in the 2006 footage whoever was playing did it pretty good. I believe they had to retake that gameplay footage several times just to get it right i.e. not to show any bugs because that game is a bug fest...
Also, during Sonic Colors gameplay, whoever played also had to be careful now to show any Wii button prompts...

I still remember today when I saw the credits of this game for the first time, I had never played sonic in my life, and seeing that for the first time, seeing the cycle of all games, made me even more interested in the franchise, and today I played and finished them all (Sonic 1, 2 and 3, Adventure 1 and 2, Heroes, 06, Unleashed and Colors).

I'll miss the days of the old Sonic games. They were awesome. I may be able to still play them... but it's not the same as when I discovered them. But the feeling of playing Sonic Mania... that's those nostalgic memories on a loop.
Too me, it isn't just the musical trip through memory lane, it was the fact that they included gameplay trips as well. I have no nostalgia for every thing '06 and beyond but everything before that was my childhood and early teens and this was so great to see.

This honestly was my very first sonic game,I never played any of the recent games before this but it opened me to all the other games in the franchise,this game is also the reason why I'm a gamer to this day,even if before I had a ds this made me more interested in not only Sonic but gaming as a whole, it's in my top 5 and it's probably my favorite game in the franchise as of now,first game I ever beat also and first I ever speedrunned my time was about 2 hrs, pretty average,just a great game all around though

i had this game in 2017, i had so many memories with it, they were beautiful, and i was only 9 or 10 at the time, i remember it like it was just yesterday, i only beat the time eater 3 times, i got so hyped when i beat him, i wish i still had this game, but one day, i vow to play this again, someday within my future ill be like my own classic self playing this game, 1 day ill be speedrunning this again-

Every time I hear the full Sonic ending theme (Sonic 1 & 2 title theme), I become on the verge of bawling my eyes out, and the planet wisp lead-in didn't help. Thanks Sonic, and everyone along the way.
