Looks like the v3 tracks are much better in quality,. But, I stocked up on the v2 tracks long ago. Fortunately, dealing with the imperfections isn't too hard. A nipper for plastic models and a filing stick comes in handy.
I'm gonna be honest I really don't care about the changes in V3. $30 was already expensive and now $40...I could buy a decent sized Lego set for that amount of money. I bought some of the V2 links and they're honestly not that bad, because in the end I'm just trying to display the model, I don't really care about texturing or the finish or a little less flash on the parts. So I guess I better start stocking up on V2 now.

I personally think that this development of the prices is just scam, I mean you have to pay 10$ more for 50 less track links per package, without any huge change towarda V2.

I ordered myself the 1.5 stud wide Bridkmania tracklinks, the leftover residue wasn't too crazy, but I did have to scrape some of it off.

you ve never test Armorbrick's track links, they are awesome. and the price is about 10 usd for 100 pcs
It's kinda funny how only the black treads went up in price while the other colors didn't
BKM hasn't made v3 for other colors yet. They will be $40 just like the black ones when they come out :(
