Ground is made through the pots to the enclosure. Also, we set the Bias on the JFETs with the circuit turned on, so it will be a little lower than what you measured. We set them between 7-9VDC depending on the sound. We also use that elongated hole on most of our enclosures. Same thing with the LED, we have a ton of them, like the way they shine, and use it on all of our products. Brady from Jackson Audio here.
Good info, thanks for the clarification!
Any plan to make it vertical?
Bought mine used. It seemed to have hardly any gain at all unless dimed, so out of curiosity I measured those same test points to see how close they were to your results. Two respond at just under 9V (pedal ON)...the 3rd ((upper left as shown in this video) will not go any lower than a little over 11V no matter where the trim pot. is set. ..??
Love this tear down series. Thank you for the video.
Very cool. Thanks for sharing. Crazy how simple it is. 😎
I've got one. Amazing how simple yet how awesome it is!
Awesome! Thanks Joe
Great vid! Just bought one ❤
Thx for the vid. I have that pedal and it’s pretty neat. Really does a great broken full fuzz sound.
That's a sharp looking pedal.
Love the channel! Would be cool if there was just a brief bit of hearing the pedal after the teardown, even if just a few strums
I hear you, but I like having my little niche. There's a ton of more talented players out there who do sound demos. I'll keep it in mind though!
@@graybenchelec I’d like to second this suggestion! While I certainly think the breakdown of the pedal is the main attraction, I almost always end up searching for sound clips of the pedal afterwards, and I’d be very appreciative of a short demo. (Even if it was just a couple strums)
I also second this. However, I'd like your playing setup stays the same with all the pedals you're gonna use. It just keeps the consistency in sound between different pedals, so we could differentiate easily between different pedals and their sounds. Cheers!
I had the twin 12 thts made after when I was growing up . Pedals were rare bk then .
God bless Tony Pepers - those sockets are 🔥
Runoff Groove have been using the JFet simulation of tubes for a long time. They have several pedal designs which do this.
Great video! I would like to suggest a teardown of the DOD Gunslinger. I've heard nice things about this pedal
Would be cool to see a circuit comparison with the JHS Twin Twelve
I'm curious on the benson germanium boost!!
Strange random side note.. I remember QR codes 25yrs ago. It failed.. I remember them as a kid in the 80-90’s It failed. Along come Covid and iPhones and everybody jumps on it, because it was forced on them. Now they are everywhere. Again.. It will fail again. That randomness aside.. I love the tone of this pedal. Especially in to the loop of a clean 6l6 with headroom. Another side note. You can get this actual amp in Tonex.. To me, it is even better than this. But I do love the tone of this pedal. It should be cheaper. Everything surface mounted. Not a fan of that. But it is what it is. Not a high end pedal. But it sure does sound good. It is secure in a heavy duty enclosure though. Thank you for sharing this!
Is there a way to know the references of the JFets used for this pedal? Thanks.
Hi, where do you get the green plastic nut drivers that you were using? I would like to see a video on the Fulltone Mas Malo. I have one and it is just amazing.

@@graybenchelec Thank you
Can I ask you where did you get your socket drivers?

you are my hero, man.
i think i'll try and clone this instead of spending major cash on it.
Please do the Jackson audio Golden.
You should break open the LVL by 1981 inventions to see what all the hype is over.
What are the JFETS part numbers that are simulating the 3 preamp tube triode stages?
Why? It's not like some sophisticated simulation circuit or some special JFETs.
Can I send you a pedal to fix?
I am not taking outside work right now, sorry!
DO SOME UA PEDALS NEXT, GOLDEN.
NOW WERE TALKIN.
That’s cute…….but.
Nah. It's an amazing pedal, try one and you'll see for yourself
@@PedalPoopers I have a 66 Silvertone amp. All original. Lucky me.
Oh wow! What a coincidence!! So do I, I even have videos of it on my channel. Do you? I highly doubt it 😂 Regardless, I prefer the pedal through my Marshall JTM45, just sounds better, ya know?
@@PedalPoopers I guess I could post videos of my collection. But why would I? I have no need. I’m not narcissistic. I don’t need the attention.
@@chiefjoseph8154Because you sound like a troll, mainly. It's not even anything personal against you because we're on the internet and you can say whatever you want. Posting videos of your "collection" would be irrelevant now and narcissistic because you already commented before. I had videos of me playing my Silvertone amp long before this so, it's not like I poached videos before the pedal existed. Good luck!
Other than the outer aesthetics, it looks like a cheap pos, would never buy, unless it was used and $30.00. Love the channel and these tear downs.
Nice troll but we all know it's a badass pedal
The price for that pedal is a joke where I live especially for what it is.
Maybe it's where you live that's the issue. $250 is cheap considering...
Lol. $250?!
$199-$299 is the average price for pedals these days, time to put on your adult pants! 😅
