i’m not sure if you would have a big audience for this but i would love a start to finish routine where there’s no music no talking just doing your routine start to finish kind of asmr inspired but more so because those tutorials are the easiest to follow for me, less overwhelming and i can watch at any speed if there’s just like captions to narrate what’s happening. love your videos!
Ordered them online myself. They're really good, NGL, that is the best brand for curly hair I've used on my hair. Qhemet are the ones I want to try next because one product was used on me in a salon and it was fantastic 😍
I can go a long time without a wash day EXCEPT for the tangles/knots. My curl clumps all start tangling together at the bottom. Have you done a video / have any advice on the best way to deal with those serious knots? Both during the week when refreshing and also on wash day (or as you mentioned the night before?)
Just the information I needed. Didn't know I had curly hair till I started to grow it out . Now what to do with it. It's winter where I am and my hair is acting terrible. This video cover all my hair problems. Thanks for posting.
It's just personal preference. I really struggled with the pineapple technique, so I use a bonnet (for long hair), but I know many content creators prefer using the pineapple technique.
How do you put your bonnet on at night? I bought the LilySilk one from Amazon (it ties at the back and has some elastic) but my curls get all squished at night. I normally take off the bonnet before I get in the shower and hope the humidity and a little water from my hands, bring them back to life.
Hey Gena, I am new to my curly hair, but no matter what I do, by day 3 or 4 my hair is matted, frizzy or straight. If I touch my hair or just put it in a scrunchie at night, it is stretched and frizzy. But it is typically oily by the 3rd day too. Do you have any idea what might help?
I don't recommend thinning shears because they can cause frizz since hairs are cut midshaft. There's not much you can do other than protect your hair to encourage length retention as it grows back out.
My hairdresser used thinning shears when I go for a trim every time. It only been 5 weeks how long should I wait for another trim she my hair to much thickness I'm growing it out
If you’re in the US I find that a lot of TJMaxx’s & Marshall’s will have the Curl Smith Bond Rehab Salve! That way the price is knocked down quite a bit.
I have a trial size of the Curl Smith salve, you can try it that way. I really like the L'Oreal EverPure bond conditioner too though. It's a lot quicker than using this, since it's just a conditioner. They actually have a pre shampoo treatment as well, but I haven't tried that.
My dear GenaMarie you have helped my thin fine hair so much. My problem being in Australia is that all of the products you recommend are really expensive. The Curlsmith products are at least $60 AUD. I’ve managed to get the AG Recoil and liquidseffects for about $40. I bought a small bottle of the Ouidad and that was $45. As you are an international sensation is it possible to find any Aussie products? I know it’s a huge ask. Or even a list of ingredients for gels. I love gels and use them with all your instructions. I know it’s a huge ask but I thought I would Karen 🇦🇺🩷
Do you use Clever Curl? The cleanser isn't my thing but the other stuff is nice. I agree that it would be awesome if she did those products! Love from across the ditch.
@daliam8715 I just cannot afford the Curlsmith and a lot of the ones that sell in Drugstores in the US for around $10 US we can get on Amazon but the prices are crazy. I’m using some AG products which are available at Price Attack and I bought a very small bottle of the Ouidad from Fragrance Net. Yes I do like some of the Curly girl stuff. Have you used the Mousse? If you have what’s your opinion of it. I also emailed Courtney from Swavy Girl and she said although she hasn’t done much with Aussie products she recommended Pump Hair Care and This Little Curl a distributor that offers reasonable prices for various curly hair products. She did say to maybe look in the Supermarket and our chemist Cheers Karen
@nursekaz62 I've never used the Clever Curl mousse, as my hairdresser doesn't have it. I actually don't like mousse in general as I find it dries out my hair, do I only ever use gels. I would also recommend Lush for hair products. I usually only try new things on sale, so I haven't tried a massive amount, but I am a big fan of the Renee's Soufflé. Usually my hair is alright, but the Summer has been difficult to deal with, and this is the only thing that keeps my hair alive.
Which step do you plan to implement in your next wash!? Shop Curlsmith here: bit.ly/4gH1dHq

The timing of this video is perfect
I love the detox kit! I used it on my last wash day and styled with the Ouidad gel you like. I loved the results.
Just got back from ULTA and the Curlsmith line was not all there. I am going to order on line, after I finish watching you! Happy Sunday!!

The detox line is great

Beautiful results
Good morning ma'am. Is there alternative for curlsmith line products?
It’s good to know that the Bond Salve can be used before the CS clarifier. I am aware that using SLS and EDTA in shampoos affects the Bond Salve.
Any curlsmith discount code? 😊
I’m going to use the bond curl salve my next wash day
I love Curlsmith this is great
I can never get the right moisture balance. No matter how heavy of a deep conditioner I use, if I use any protein at all I will have dry crunchy hair.
Thankl you Gena! :)
Just washed my 2c hair and it looks like yours before you washed your hair. Any recommendations I have thick hair?
TFS. Enjoyed as always.
Omg!!!!! Just discovered your videos and I’m loving them!!!!!Should I use a bonnet or a pineapple technique for sleeping
It's just personal preference. I really struggled with the pineapple technique, so I use a bonnet (for long hair), but I know many content creators prefer using the pineapple technique.
I liked this video, not too much blah blah, or talk between steps which would usually loose me, easy to follow. Thank you.

Have you tried the pineapple technique?
I had the same problem. I got a more poofy sleep bonnet which has been helpful.
Have you reviewed the cake curl jelly?? I’m curious to see if it’s any good!
My favorite gel
Tyyy❤❤
Silly question...what does the "A" stand for on your necklace? Just curious.
what if my hair look a bit damaged like it got thinner and wired looking hair?

I've got the same issue. My hair is matted and tangled by day 3/4 also but I don't want to wash it every 3 days :(
so pretty
Thank you Gina your video’s are always easy to follow and you explain so clearly your curls are beautiful
What would help my hair out after thinning shears and put layers on my thick wavy and curly 😢

Is there any bond treatment you would recommend that are in the drug store? Cheaper options? Thanks!

Dove 10 in 1 is great! Look up Abbey Yung, she did an entire series on bond repair systems. While she has straight hair, she does an amazing job.
I just bought the bond salve from TJ Maxx for half price yesterday.

This is also why I've been way too afraid to try the curlsmith products despite everyone's raving.
