I build a forged HKS SR20 capable of 500+ HP at Yashio Factory for my S15 Silvia. This is a massive accomplishment for me as it's the first time I have built an entire engine myself!
it’s a good day when he uploads
Agreed
I love to watch car builds
He upload everyday

Totally.......JDM with a Aussie twist
Love Okachan's money sign at the end 😂🤑
Dude, your videos are getting better and better. Max respect from down under. Aussies do it best.
That torque wrench 😍😍😍
Ya that was pretty cool seeing it from the bottom up being built. That was one relaxing and rather quick 28 minute video.
Yea give Okachan some money. So he’ll stop threatening you.
@@konopelskimarquardt6167 you are a dissappointment
I love watching Okachan teach its so cool
Sammit is the future of Yashio factory
He's got the spirit and not to forget, the correct woman. He decided correctly when he moved to Japan and with his dream and met May. Maybe I don't know enough about this love story, but I think it also belongs to his history. I would love to here more about this, if you like to. Not a must, just a plus ;) I follow your channel for a few years now (frequently) and I just start to put the puzzles together. I guess these rare and awesome cars, driving, drifting and building these things are in first priority of your channel, but I would also appreciate the story behind the scenes. I'm not finding the right words at the moment, but I think you all know what I mean. A story about May and the history of you two maybe would be nice for some videos. Also some more about yourself, May's family and Yashio Factory's history would be and idea. Cheers from Germany. Tristan ;)
And don't forget Yuta
@@tristanrs1398 o
@@tristanrs1398 He did a video about why he came to Japan where he explains a lot of things. I'm pretty sure he met his wife through a church group when traveling to japan where they became friends and eventually became a couple.
@@tristanrs1398 he has explained how he met Mayumi in previous videos. Also, not everyone is comfortable sharing their personal life on social media due to what is happening right now.
realy infomative video for who is going to build a engine for the 1st time ... and for me wacthing this is realy remind me alot of things about to rebuild the proper engine 👍🏻
Soooooooooo pumped. Congratulations Sam. You’ve seriously come sooo far
hardout!

Separation is in the preparation...my Brother 42 years ago built his straight six in his '63 Biscayne for the first time! I got to help and it was a great experience...my Dad checked the work, but it was a stout build for the time and it had a decent body from a stellar platform in those 2 dr, '63 Chevys...
Man I got chills when he put on that beautiful valve cover to top it all off, cherry on top 😍!
Love it have my exam today thought of a bit of break from revision u really relax a person with tht way of showing jdm culture keep it up pal
Big thank you for show your first engine build. Well done
Every time I see an engine building video, I think about the engineers who designed the engine and all the math and calculations they had to do to get it right.
Congrats on your first build Sammit!
Those lights inside Yashio factory made a HUGE DIFFRERENCE!! Looks great :)
It’s awesome to watch OG engine builders man 👌
Okachan is such a great humble man love it everytime he makes a appearance in videos. And the fact that he's always down to help sammit in any situation. Keep up all the great content.
High respect to you and to all engine builders!
Dude. One of my favorite videos. !!!! Love the time lapse of building the engine.
Love seeing the excitement Sam. Appreciate you and all your work.
I just can’t get over how much okachan seems like a father to Sam he pretty much does everything with him like if Sam was his own son. This is why okachan is my role model
Watching Sam build the engine is like asmr for some reason
Okamura San is a damn funny guy and is a very nice man, period. Oh and a Barbeque lover too !!!
13:06 is SUPER satisfying
Well done Sam. Thanks to Okachan 👊🙏🇦🇺🇯🇵
Another awesome upload ...thank you for sharing your journey.
Under Yashio Factory's wing like Sanford and Son, i'd expect no less; u got the connect
Congratulations on the 1st build 👍🏼💯☝🏻
congrats ! first engine build is so nerve racking and exciting at the same time, it’s a different feeling. really good video and looking forward to more content !
I missed these long video's. Even if they take 3 hours, i will still watch them completely.
same bro
i like how the soft hammer sound changes when the piston bottom out
Now you have come far well done. This video was a very good one.
not sure if okachan knows about the “dual guide” mod. Its where you grind a lil bit of the rocker arm that sits on the flat shim side to allow for another guided shim so each rocker arm now uses 2x guide instead of the flawed factory design of 1x guide shim + 1x flat shim. This should give a little more aid in keeping a shim from getting spit and a rocker arm from coming off until the owner decides to shell out the $$$ and put a VE vvl head on and just totally eliminate the rocker arm issue. So anyway to any readers seeing this, just make note to use a same size guided shim that would be replacing the flat shim that you are changing out and, this is so you will retain your lash. Have a good one and enjoy your rwd sr20s 👌👌👌
I can’t wait to hear Gate from that bad boi. Good job Sam, you’re doing awesome!
lol 2:45 that reaction time oka-chan. You just playing lol. You funny guy!
Okachan is literally one of the best guys ive never met. What a guy!!
For the micrometer or DTI every 10th on the scale is 0.1mm
Congratulations for the 400000!let's go the first mil! Keep up the nice contents! Many greetings from Greece!
Yup torque by degree is an odd feeling my first Mitsubishi gave me that feeling when I did the head gaskets
great job buddy i realy enjoyed watching this video
Great video, Sam what an exciting video to watch you assemble your first engine at Yoshio Factory. Loved it, I happily watched every single second! Arigato! Joshy San.
Nice and clean good job Sammit
Okachan clearly has alot pf great knowledge, skill and tools to build engines correctly. This is why experts with experience are AMAZING 🤗🤩🤗😎
My favorite videos on your channel! More Okachan content please! Also, I was always under the impression that the oil pump cover had to be milled down with the head whenever putting on a new one cover, so that the headgasket sits perfectly flat against both the cover and the block.
I love the videos when your driving around japan. I miss it there:(
I can't wait to see your first comp with that fresh HKS SR
Great job Sam!! You should be proud!!
Can't wait to hear that beauty
you are so lucky Sam to have such a great teacher as Okachan
watching this was so therapeutic.
congratulations and best luck with the new setup engine
That was a brilliant video, what these videos should all be about.
that table is at your knees damn
A VE head would have been a nice touch no need to worry about those rocker arms popping off then. Seriously reminded me of the time I blew my sr16ve N1 engine and rebuilt it as an sr20ve. Excellent work.
Nice work. Balanced and blueprinted. This will be one snappy motor with crisp throttle response.
Awesome rebuild, cant wait for it's first start.
Better than therapy. Thanks Sammit!
Yeah Sammit! You got more patience than me to tackle that👊
Sam you’re the reason I want to get into drifting and wanting to get into cars. Don’t get me wrong it always interests me my whole life but you’re the reason I’m actually gonna do it
I love how your sharing the knowledge! Can't wait to build my sr20det too!
more engine builds!!! love them
Yashio factory for the win!!!!
I can't wait to hear you start it for the first time
Probly most exited about the first Sutututututu when this is all done
Can't wait for the spicier sutututu
Man it's nice that she's good for big power now.
You got yourself a good sensei!
Excited on how much power the Silvia is going to push good job sammit keep up the good content ✌👍😎😎
Even after all these years, Okachan still scares me🥲😂💔
great job, Sammit! I would also take 50 yakiniku dinners over money.
Took off from Oki to QLD. Hopefully I get to see some cars out here. Keep killing the videos.
Im soo excited for the test drive
Loving the content sammit, can’t wait to see this thing rip!
A few of my friends have had those sr20’s in the old se-r Sentra with a snail on em they get down and are great motors 🤘
you know you gotta drive even harder now 😌😌
so nice to have someone la okachan as a mentor !
Ive been using the DTI (micrometer) to set up workpieces in lathes at my college and im fairly sure the scale is 0.1 of a mm but its shown on the dial as (10) so the readings you had were out by 0.01 as you had 0.41 and 0.40
Spent the weekend pulling the head on our forged SR S13, this is all too familiar!
No rocker stoppers?
So excited for this!
I’ve seen that hotrod in yashio factory for ages , what is it ? Or what was it used in or something? I just need a backstory or something of it
You had to do dual guide shim conversion. It disable that the rocker arms can get out of place
Sweet!! Always toying with a 2.2 stroker kit for my S15 but happily i can live vicariously through your channel......props for built not bought by the way!!! PS check out the cartoon i had done of my S15, the same guy that did Godzilla in a Tux's R33.
After you torque bolts use a paint pen to mark the bolts. Then if you really need to know take pics of all the paint marks that you've done. So later you won't be guessing if you remembered to torque something.
Excellent job. 😊
NOW THE FUN PART , TESTING
Hell yeah brother
Okachans payment could be written off I reckon 🤙🏽
You're the man brother
its interesting watching him meticulously assemble this when I've seen so many videos of people putting connecting rods in a k20 and sending it to 600 hp
something just relaxing watching an engine come together. I did most of this to my SR in 07/08 and really brought back some great memories just jamming the in the garage.
thankfully, I have never jacked my Greddy oil pan in the 14 years years or so. but now that i have said that, i will... F me... LOL
Never heard that about the ARP studds. I'm been running them the whole time and running between 14-20 psi daily no prob with a 2871r. BUT I DID the same thing with the studs. LOL we all do it the first time!!! :)
I may have a nissan SR shim service plate from a Dealer i found some where.... :)
the next most critical thing is getting the damn CAS gear lined up properly.... GOD I CAN NOT STRESS IT ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!get the gears lined up right!!!!!!!
this is motivating me to pull my SR again and so some maintenance. it and the engine bay just need a good cleaning and some wire management. also plan to do a Silvia front swap that i've had the pieces for, like 10 years now.
What an incredible experience and such a huge honour that must have been.. taught by one of the elder drift gods for your first ever engine. Also that rocker is SO pretty! lol.
What spacers are being used on the cover btw? I'm always dubious that spacers are good/safe/worth..
Can't wait to hear it run 👍🏾
Any sammit video, i feel like ive time travelled through youtube wasteland to JAPAN haha!!!
Been waiting for this
A sr20 passionate lover, like me
Can't wait to see that Garrett turbo on are you ceramic coating the hot side?
I was really hoping you would solve the girdle kangaroo mystery in this vid.
How does it feel .. to expect your firstborn? Congratulations, great video - eager to see it running!
