Hello everyone. In this video I review and compare the details of the design change from FlipSide's 3X wallet and their latest version, the FiipSide 4 wallet.
I am personally an avid fan and promoter of FlipSide wallets, yet I have not been given any discount on either of these wallets. I paid full retail for these walls and I am very pleased with the design, quality, uniqueness and functionality of the entire FlipSide brand.
Feel free to shoot any questions my way. If you don't own one of these wallets, I would highly suggest buying one and trying it out! I get weekly compliments from cashiers, servers and random bystanders.

This guy make flip side sold a lot of wallets, this guy reviews makes me order mines🙏🏿🇯🇲🇺🇸
Thanks man!
How many business cards does the "rubber band" hold on the outside compared to the "clip" one?
I’ve had the 3X for going on 4 years now and I just absolutely love this wallet. I don’t see myself going back to a regular wallet again.
You’re absolutely correct that when you drop it, it does explode, but only the things you put in the back of the inside wallet where the money clip is. Everything else stays attached. I’d say this is the only flaw about this wallet, but if you’re someone that doesn’t drop your wallet often then it’s perfect 👌🏽
I use the rubber band daily for holding receipts, cash, Costco card, etc, and after 4 years it’s starting to wear out, but could honestly last me another 2-3 years though. I would suggest replacing it with the card clip attachment that you showed towards the end of the video.
I plan to upgrade soon to the FlipSide 4. Thanks for the video!
I have had a flipside 3X in my back pocket since March 2014. Originally bought the gray and I went with a black one like two years later. I wish I received commission on how many wallets have been base of my enthusiastic explanation of the wallet when people ask me about it. Truly is the best wallet out there. I’m trying to find a way to remove the RF ID metal plates just to increase capacity a bit.
Thank you! This video help me a lot with realizing the difference between the 3x and the 4
Great review! Own 3x for many years + love it.
And that's how you review a product!excellent review
Excellent review mate.
I used my 3x for 10 years and now that the Flipside 4 is out I bought it. My 3x goes in my backpack with business cards and my new F4 is the one I’ll be using for work everyday. I have a Dango Maverick 1 Spec-Ops Bifold 4 Pocket DTEX for going out and church. Great wallets! No more buying cheap wallets that get bulky and you have to replace them very often. Even the cheap ones become expensive over time. It’s better to get an expensive one right off the bat so you won’t be buying cheap wallets often. My old 3X still works and will probably last me another 10 years, but hey, having these other wallets sure makes the investment last literally a lifetime! 👍😁👌
Love the FS4; new owner/user. I can already tell it’ll be a hit with me. Thanks for the comparo.
Great review. Thanks
I was skeptical but after a year its the best wallet Ive ever owned. If you need to carry 40 cards and bunch of useless stuff its not a good choice. When I first got it my kids thought it was really dumb but after opening and closing it a few times to get cash or borrow my gas card they remarked that they thought it was pretty cool and more functional than any other wallet. I always keep my wallet in my front pocket so its a natural fit, back pocket might be annoying. Great review
Good video. Encouraging to buy one now
Wow, flipside looks like they out did their-selves, really nice! And thanks for the info on the tile tracker!
I bought the same color orange flipside 4, you cover everything I wanted to know about the wallet, thanks
Great, I'm sure you'll enjoy!
Great review! Can you do an update on the 4 after several months of use? thanks
I’m sold buddy....great review
Very gooooood review on a wallet I have never seen. Looks promising.
DrDennis77 thanks man!
i had the same grey flipside 3. best wallet ever. 3 weeks ago i thought i'd lost it. i freak out because of my documents no cash je. but it turns out i dropped it in a parking lot far from where i live. next day i sent someone to look for my wallet and they found it. save me a trip to the dmv and etc...but now the exterior attachment wont clip...am thinking about buying the new one.....thanks for your review
Had my 3X since 2015 and its served me well, but today I bought the latest one. Always love an upgrade :-)
Awesome, I think you'll enjoy the new model. I cant wait for version 5!
Does the accessory that allows you to hold 3 more card fit a credit card 2500mAh Battery back up??
Let’s get some edc/firearm videos going. You are articulate and easy to listen to, compared to a lot of reviewers who ramble
Hey thanks so much man, this comment made my evening. Are you suggesting we co-lab on some reviews?
Nick Nardone I had just ordered the flip 4 so this review was just what I needed. Much more detailed than the other reviews I watched. I’m saying you seem like a “gear guy” you mentioned you have a firearm license and as I said you’re articulate, concise and to the point. Something guys like myself are looking for when researching edc gear. It’d be cool to see some reviews on your edc gear. Maybe unboxing and first impressions on new items.
Well done sir
I have used a Jimi Wallet for years. It is simple and minimal. The more you carry the more you lose if wallet it lost! I bought two back in the day @ $8.50 each on Ebay. The only problem I had was that over a long time the money clip will crack! Regardless I still use one with a metal security chain lanyard. I lined it with aluminum foil for RFID security. Cheap and simple , but it works for me
I have a Flipside XE... have had it for a very long time. The 4 looks quite nice.
Thanks Nick, you provided an excellent comparison. Question, how does it carry best, and most comfortable in your opinion front or back pocket ?
Danny Mc phee - thanks for for the kind words. I honestly rotate the wallet from front to back fairly regularly. I usually try to carry most items in front pockets (who wants to sit on anything in a pocket anyway?).
I have the flipside 3x and do see any reason to buy the 4. Its worth it if you don't own one already
I have had several flipside wallets and loved them all however, I still wish they would fix the plastic money clip. It needs to be something more substantial ...perhaps a spring tension metal clip or something more than the flimsy plastic tab it is, thats my only beef with Flipside other than that i think they're awesome wallets
That’s a good point. I’m excited to see what the next generation wallet brings
Great review but nothing beats broken in full grain leather
You mean a broken in George Costanza wallet? 😂
I appreciate the review and it did help me to make my purchase. Could you let me know if the money clip were broken is it replaceable? Thank you!
I think that would depend on how it broke. You would need to contact the manufacturer to determine that.
@@NickNardone Thank you!
How does it feel in the back pocket?? I know it's 3/4 inch thick, I have had the trayvax original, and ridge wallet, and been using the recycled firefighter for along time now but time for something different, but it seems way thicker then the others I have had,? So how's it in the back pocket
Austin Hartson feels fine to me. In reality, 3/4” is thinner that most people’s bifold wallets when fully loaded. And the rounded edges make it much more comfortable than anything metal and jagged from Travax.
I’ve had a flipside in my back pocket for eight years …sat on it etc. no problem best wallet I’ve owned.
I have the 3X for close to 3 and half years now, I do the same thing with the waller finder, I use an *Orbit Card* which is not as popular or well known as the Tile brand but for me it works fantastic, as it a lot slimmer than the tile slim and I put it behind the money flip as well and gets the same result.
I when with the Orbit Card because of the rechargeable capability that Tiles does not have as well as the thinness that of a regular credit/debit card.
Awesome man! Thanks for commenting! I choose Tile for my tracking devices due to its popularity and what that means for its crowdsourcing features.
Nick Nardone that is one of the benefits of Tile. Wish they had a rechargeable version and as slim as the orbit card.
Draken X yeah man me too!!
I want one that is also waterproof and can hold a car key fob.
Question. How is a Tile tracker working with an RFID wallet? The wallet is designed to not let RF in. That doesn't say much for the RFID protection.
That's a great question!
The RFID metallic plates enclose the card holding section, and the cash holding section is outside of those plates. In other words, the Tile tracker is outside of the "RFID plate sandwich"
@@NickNardone That's what I thought......I wasn't sure. I've been using one for YEARS....I have a 3x. Love it....People are always amazed when I open it. I went to highschool in NJ with a guy named Nick Nardone.....
@@fredraimondi105 Awesome! My Nardone family live in Rahway NJ, however I'm in South Florida.
It's also HANDY to put a card that you WANT the RFID TO detect in that outside accessory pocket, for example at the border crossing...
does it hold up better than the 3x when you drop it? just wanted to know before I buy the 4.
lyman345 yes absolutely!! I actually address this exact issue in my review.
lyman345 go to the 4:45 mark.
thanks
I don’t notate much these days because I’m too busy noting things :p
The tile works inside the RFID blocker plates?
DozensOfViewers good question! The Tile is actually positioned in the wallet outside of the two RFID plates. Watch the video again and you’ll understand. Regardless though, Bluetooth signal would make it through those two plates fine.
Nick Nardone ahhh, I see.
Can you do a range video of signal strength
At this time I don’t have any interest in making that video.
I’m surprised you didn’t mention that the flipside logo on the new 4 doesn’t have a hole which exposes the RF ID metal plate. I always thought that was kind of bogus looking. Also just an idea how about epoxying an apple AirTag on the outside of the wallet? I epoxied a badge on the outside of mine, which is a little bit bigger than an apple AirTag, and it’s been on there for 3+ years in my back pocket no problem.
It doesn’t hold enough cards. My $10 leather wallet is better and will it outlast that thing by 25 years, minimum.
Nice review and comparison though.
Does euro bills fit in flipside 4?
I do not believe so.
It’s a brick is it not?
What happens if you put only one card for the 3-card slot?
Hubert Peña - The card retention is consistently good whether you’re holding a single card or 3 cards. The silicone “bumpers” grip the side of the card(s) individually and thus the amount you load it doesn’t effect retention.
are there accessories for coins?
Hubert Peña - Yes, I specifically mention that accessory in the second half of the video. Check out FlipSide’s website.
No coins
@@devendavid9tre They discontinued the current coin attachment, new one to be released in Q1 2019
It’s too bad their website only has the color black available, and no other accessories.
That sounds to me like they may be releasing a new model soon!
they have all accessories and colors back in stock now it seems.
Ive had my flipside 4 since 2019 and its been great, have the red color.
I'm thinking its time for a new color - looking at the blue one.
Where are the air pod case
The only problem is that it's always sold out. Where can I find it
It's for sale right now, go get you one!. They had to restock from Xmas sales I assume
Amazon has them
Go to their website, $39.00.
it would look aggressive? WTF are you talking about? it is just a wallet!
Where would you put your driver's license
A D.L. would fit in any of the available card slots.
Thanks.
Just ordered one. Should be getting it today
A great product! Works for me, EVERYDAY and ORANGE is a Hell of a lot BETTER for finding your wallet when you accidentally drop it. In the dark. Or in the snow. Or: On the dark, AND in the snow... ;-) I'd STILL like it BETTER if it ALSO held Canadian bills though... I also carry a tile in the wallet. All the Best! DE W8LV (and sometimes W8LV/VE3) BILL
It’s probably a mm thicker because you sat on the other one for so long
Bomb_Kat lol! I’m not sure that’s how hard plastic works, but perhaps!
The single biggest problem with these wallets is they will only accommodate American bills. It would be nice if the company developed an international edition.
I back up Paul Sur’s remark, European money probably wont’fit
I have a 5 euro bill in mine right now
@@TimothyJavier does it fit wider euro bills? It wont fit $NTD
@@paulsur5871 I don't know if euros vary from different countries, but I only have a 5 on me from a trip to France.
@@TimothyJavier I was curious, because after your post I did some research, and it is my understanding that different denomination Euros are different sizes. I have a wide wallet, which I carry regularly, because asian currency like New Taiwanese dollars are quite wide. I have to be careful when buying bill fold.
To bad it’s not available!
5 euro is the smallest of bills
I find these cheap but to each their own
Cool concept. Just wish it wasn't so ugly.
I had to give up after the multiple mentions of "orientate" and the "pie zo" speaker. Nice presentation, but if you are going to do a professional quality video work on your dialogue.
Andrew Criswell Heard that. Thank you for your constructive feedback. What are you referring to with your mention of a piezoelectric speaker? Are you staying that the mic quality used is crappy? If so, I agree with you. Audio recording was via the onboard iPhone mic.
Andrew Criswell Don’t be such a pompous bitch. If you’re looking for a high-quality video, you’re not going to find them on RUclips very often, so forget about it and quit your bitching. I could hear him loud and clear, with the “microphone” he was using. you seem to not know the difference with the microphone and a speaker. The problem was the acoustics of the room he was in. He must have beef in a cavernous room with nothing to absorb sound. Instead, it echoed.
Andrew Criswell Sounds fine to me. 🤷🏼♂️ It’s also the best Flip Side review on RUclips, the amount of detail he goes in to is unmatched. This is a guy who actually uses the fucking product.
