- Here is a 30-minute documentary that aired on the day of the 2001 Daytona 500 regarding the much-anticipated return of Dodge in the NASCAR then-Winston Cup Series after a 24-year hiatus from the sport.
The special was hosted by late actor and former Dodge spokesperson Edward Herrmann, who would be dropped 5 months later by then-DaimlerChrysler AG (now separate companies, with Chrysler later becoming part of Stellantis North America) after the company began to undergo a major image overhaul with the Dodge Brand. Dodge itself, was forced out of NASCAR in 2012 and has not returned to the sport since.

I hope Dodge comes back to nascar one day. Nascar is in their roots. If dodge were still in nascar, they would probably be using the hellcats
I am one of the many race fans that misses the hell out of Dodge being in NASCAR.
Wow I didn't know there were commercials of the Dodge diecasts that came in the cereal boxes
I remember watching this on the day NASCAR changed forever.
I loved watching all 10 Dodge Intrepid R/T race cars run around the oval tracks and road courses .
This was aired on the day of Dale Earnhardt from a basilar skull fracture sustained from a 2001 Daytona 500 crash and the arrest of former FBI agent Robert Hanssen who was charged with espionage.
3:45 RIP Twin Towers.
RIP Dale Earnhardt
Keep em coming!
Thanks!
I Remember This
2:02 NASCAR on TNT always spammed that engine rev.
Ward could've won if the big one didn't happen
