- This week we're laser engraving Delrin and showing you how to create seals. These are our Trodat seals which are mostly used for lawyers and corporate firms.
We're using our Speedy 300 100 watt laser engraving machine and demonstrating how our JobControl laser software has specific features for creating male/female sides of the seal in one pass.

Hi! I've been making these using the plastics option in job control as I don't have a "Delrin" option even though I use Delrin. How can I get that setting into job control? Great video by the way :)

I tried to cutt 1/16″ Delrin, but during the process the lens became dirty, the focuss lost and cut failed.
What could be wrong? (Speedy 300 machine)
The lens became dirty with just one cut pass? Have you checked to make sure the lens was clear prior to start?
@@TrotecLaserCanada Yes, initially the lens was cleaned. Complicated drawing had to be cut out (about a4 sheet size). After about 1/10 of the job, the laser defocused and did not cut through.

Is Delrin safe to burn on your laser? I thought Delrin released toxic gas when you burn it.
Hi Gerald, our Delrin is perfectly safe for the laser we cannot comment on other suppliers.

Is it advisable to use ABS Plastic?
You can mark it with the Fiber laser. The problem is it melts quickly on CO2 and some ABS materials can release small concentration of cyanide gas. We cannot really recommend it.
Thats called an Embosser that makes an "Embossed Seal", it turns the 2D LEGAL paper into a 3D lawful document
