    In Eastern culture (Korea, Japan, etc) fashion is considered a lifestyle. It isn't about wearing bogos and ripped acid washed skinny jeans every single day, as well as flexing jewellery. It's more of creating new styles from an existing style, curating new forms, either borrowed from another culture or not.
    In our culture, fashion is more of personal preference, not a status to show how rich you are, what kind of job that person is currently in, etc.

      I dont believe that's entirely true. They definitely have theit and whoring I believe Korea and China may have more of that than japan tho. Chinese immigrants with money where stuff that almost exclusively has logos on it

    I do Believe that Japanese Street Culture is actually a bog Inspiration for the Western Street faishion. I think is wrong to say that the western Culture is the insperation.
    Personally i do believe, that Japanese Fashion is ahead of our Western Style.

      Personally I feel that it's sort of cycle or circle of uh fashion. Japanese get inspired by the West, go hard and evolve it, then the West gets inspired by Japan.🤔

    • @THECASUALco
      @THECASUALco  5 лет назад +32

      To understand Japanese fashion is to accept the fact that most of the contemporary stuff IS in fact inspired by the West and Japanese will often say that. Ask a young Japanese male what style he likes and he'll often say "American Casual".
      It may be ahead in your eyes because its more detailed and deliberate but to completely ignore the Western impact would be disingenuous. For example BEAMS, the largest select shop in Japan, started completely as a homage to California west coast fashion.

    The thing I love about the japanese,their fits always look good,even their old people knows how to dress,and they don't even need to wear big brands to do it too,unlike here kids just put on whatever expensive or hyped up shit they got without even looking if the colors blend well.

    I am not sure, so correct me if i'm wrong: I thought you said in earlier vids that Japanese street culture, and fashion in specific, is most of the times avant-garde compared to Western/US culture? That a lot of new fashion comes from small Japanese brands. That new styles are then incorporated by lets say Off-White.
