    Cool test. I shoot the Rage hypodermic no collar out of my Mathews V3X 29. And they fly awesome. And work well for me. But my bow is tuned so i also shoot NAP HELLRAZOR fixed blade broadheads. Depends on what game i am shooting at that time. I use Easton axis 5mm 340 spine 417 grains. Great arrow

    On the accuracy test (cardboard): You measured the Rage, that opened, at 2.5"... The TOA was 1.25" x 2 for ... 2.5". Good video.
    Try a single bevel out and see what it does to a scapula... I got a doe with one last year an the internal damage was unreal.

    Only knock i have on TOTAs is the same as every carbon steel broadhead (VPA etc). They're not very weather proof unless you keep up a coat of oil on them. Not that big a deal, but annoying if you forget and all your broadheads rust.

    You won't be saying "it's just preference when you shoot at that whitetail of a lifetime with a mechanical broadhead and get no penetration after hitting the shoulder or hit a rib on an angle and watch your arrow deflect in a way you thought was impossible. Trust this bowhunter of 50 years. Mechanical failures are inevitable. Don't gamble when you finally have a super durable fixed broadhead that flys with field point accuracy and creates a huge wound channel.

      Bowhunter here of 40 years and I totally agree with you. Mechanical broadheads are a disaster waiting to happen. You a r e not gonna be perfect in every shot and you might hit to far front and wound the animal.with a strong fixed blade you break bone and get penatration.well said

    On a deer, the rage would have levered
    and may not have penetrated much if at all. The gel is perfectly flat where a deer is not hence with that one blade not opening on impact, it may lever.

  • @codypipkin8956
    @codypipkin8956 2 года назад +2

    That shot where one blade opened up full be the other one didn’t! I had that happened to me on a deers rib cage and it deflected slightly and that’s why I personally won’t use rage.. they will kill deer but I don’t wanna worry about deflections or bones. Not to argue but anyone who says that don’t deflect look at there website they say they don’t recommend quartering shots and also look at why the broadhead schwachker got so famous.. there selling point against rage was take quartering shots

    • @BuckFeverOutdoors
      @BuckFeverOutdoors  2 года назад

      That shot was definitely eye opening! I think you can get higher rewards with the Rage but it comes with a higher risk as well. The Tooth of the Arrow is definitely the more consistent broadhead - you know what you’re going to get every time no matter what shot situation presents itself and what you get is pretty dang good. Thanks for watching!!

    Tooth of the arrow will always out perform rage, seen way to many deer Wounded from rage, also seen perfect broadside shot not get a pass through. Shot a deer at 50 yards last year broke the leg bone got a pass through and the tooth of the arrow stuck into a branch 1”

      We actually did hit a fresh spot on the gel we just didn’t get the best camera angle to be able to show it so that’s why it looks like it hit the same hole! TOTA break blades .. not much use to have a 1 and done fixed blade that aren't sharp at all and don't really sharpen that well.

    • @eugene7890

      Think if you going to do a Penetration test you should at least be at 35- 40 yards to really get a max penetration fair test. I like to see a test with the rage and tooth of arrow against a QAD Exodus full or swept broadhead . Shot with compound and crossbow.
