It's not about Tritter's actor. He's good, definitely good. But it's not just that.
While he does sell the self-righteous asshole role he plays, ultimately it's his fundamental misunderstanding of addiction and pain management which makes me hate him. He has likely never spent a day in his life in as much pain as House deals with, yet he seems to think that he understands the ins and outs of addiction like he's went through it himself, but he hasn't. He's only ever seen it from the outside, and when he sees House, he sees a vendetta. He's a narcissistic manchild just like House is, and on its own, that doesn't really piss me off. What pisses me off is that he thinks he's better than House, and he isn't.
Tritter is obviously dedicated to his job, just like House is. Where House sees a case that interests him, though, Tritter sees suspects who he can hunt down relentlessly. House saves people while often costing them an important aspect of their life, be it social, political, romantic, or sometimes even all of those; but the end result is usually the best one can hope for if their case reaches House: they get treatment, and they live. Tritter probably has done good on other cases, probably put dangerous people away. But as the judge said in the final bout between the two, House wasn't flooding the streets with narcotics. He chose this as a personal mission to persecute House because he saw tendencies that he probably saw in his family, long before.
House does his job out of principal. Tritter was only chasing down House out of pure spite.

*but his limp and his pain are completely real, and he is indeed a cripple, as anyone could plainly see thew few times they showed his bare leg.*
Wilson literally tells house that his pain is totally mental, and that he dosn't need the pills for any reason other than because it creates a sympathetic feeling that he can abuse/use around people...which he does and which the show's entire fan-base whether they think it or not has bought into.

katelyn ast Being high isn't illegal, and tolerance is a perfectly acceptable excuse. And doctors are technically able to provide a "verbal script". Meaning, they can just ask a pharmacist for something, and it would technically be legal. This is considered highly unprofessional, discouraged, and rarely done, but it is legal nonetheless. Furthermore, fraud isn't fraud if you specifically have the person's permission. So even if House was proven to have written a script using Wilson's name, Wilson could say he okayed it, but was currently unavailable, so house wrote it.

80mg of Hydrocodone is not a lot for those with a tolerance. They make 80mg OxyContin tablets and it has to do with physical tolerance. "Stoned" is a relative standard. Me on a high dose of Hydrocodone is completely different than you on a high dose of Hydrocodone because I've been on narcs for years for legitimate pain. If you wanted to prove impairment you'd have to pull the patients entire medical history, the duration, strength, type, etc. of the narcotic, and breaks, etc. to really prove it to the point of being impaired. It is very difficult to prosecute impaired driving cases when people are on prescription drugs alone but usually things like them hitting a telephone pole are obvious indicators along with numerous other substances like alcohol and marijuana.

I'm not just annoyed I find Tritter to be such a detestable character. I get that him and Vougler are suppose to be the villain in the show, and we're suppose to sympathise for House and hate the villain. But I'm not having a problem with him trying to get rid of House and stop him from doing what he should be doing.
I'm bothered by the character, he is a hypocrite. He does what he does as if he's doing it for the greater good, to save people from House's snide and sarcastic remarks. But really he's just doing it because he wants to get back at House for those that are done on him. He felt disrespected. He is petty. He has this smug look on his face whenever he got one over House, as if gloating at him.
It's funny how he's speaking of standing up and dealing with a bully by means of.. bullying. I suspect he's been waiting his whole life to get this opportunity, this excuse to be a bully himself, to abuse his power and gratify over dominating another person. It must be especially rewarding for him to dominate someone like House.

    • @sarizonana
      @sarizonana 6 лет назад +12

holohulolo Tritter And Vogler we’re both evil two guys abusing power claiming they were fighting for the greater good, both huge hypocrites.
The only reason Vogler is slightly more tolerable is because he was easier to get rid off. Cuddy and the board were the ones who decided who they preferred to have. Tritter had absolute power to do whatever he wanted with Cuddy being helpless.
Well she later found a way to save House from going to jail but The Reason we hate Tritter more than Vogler is because Tritter had more power.
Since House is based on Sherlock Holmes I see Tritter and Vogler As the Moriarty of the series, maybe David Shore couldn’t keep one through The Whole show so he gave House two different enemies to represent Sherlock’s biggest enemy.

Everybody seems to be so upset with Tritter. I think he's a wonderful compliment to the season - raw, cold, and calculating. Quite like House himself really, in many different aspects. Yet it seems like the conflict is only because people don't want House to have any conflicts without a quick ending to the fight with House winning. The brilliance of Tritter is he's like a bulldog, he gets a hold of something, and he never stops, again, just like House. Tritter is intimidating, while House is intimidating with a sense of humor.

Yeah, I really get annoyed when people hate on Tritter when he's not doing anything that House hasn't done the entire series. The only difference is framing. The show frames House as a hero and his unethical, power-abusing actions as entirely justified. But as soon as someone turns that table on him, everyone starts seething in rage at the opponent. Tritter is doing just doing his job.

False. There are plenty of times when house does something that might cross some ethical or legal lines but when house does it he does it because it is in the best interests of his patient to do so. Tritter is a manipulative pos who is deliberately out to get house in a vindictive manner and for petty reasons, and is overtly malicious in the manner he does it. House's job is a doctor. He finds out what's wrong with people, he treats it.
Tritter's job, on the other hand, is a cop. He's supposed to uphold the law. Can't exactly say breaking the law's in service to it, whereas breaking the law can very much save a patient's life. Yes, what House does wouldn't be tolerable in real life. But Tritter's a lot worse, because he has no excuse. He's just a vindictive hypocrite. House saves lives.

    • @scottmatheson3346

@@JS-wp4gs well that's not true. There are plenty of times when house's behavior is deliberately not in the best interest of his patient, and more broadly he never really has the interests of his patients at heart. He is in it for the intellectual challenge, not for their well-being, and dismisses suffering patients whose cases do not interest him.
It's an interesting dynamic. Tritter seems to have sold himself on the idea that he has some public interest agenda in mind, whether you agree with him or not. House on the other hand makes no pretense of being anything other than entirely self-interested, and yet his fans make for him arguments that he won't make for himself.

That's the thing about Tritter. Whether you think that he's right or not depends on how you viewed the very first incident between him and House. Tritter believes that House is in the wrong and that he's the man of justice. The issue here lies with the fact that House DID diagnose him based on what he observed, something that many doctors do. When House made to leave, Tritter tripped him, hence the first bullet. It was only after that moment did House strike back and stick a thermometer up the man's ass. Tritter believes that House is the bully, and to a certain extent, he's right, House is a bully, but not to Tritter. Tritter is literally what every bully is, he tries to force House into doing something he wanted, and when House retaliated, he became vindictive and kept going after everyone around House until he forces House into doing what he doesn't want to do.

No, youre wrong. Rewatch it. Tritter changes his tone with house when he takes the vicodin and sees house as an addict because of it. Everyone believes this has to do with power, but its legitimately because tritter things addicts are a danger to society. He kicks his cane after that. He list all respect for house and considered him an addict. Once he did the most basic of detective work he realized house was being covered for by everyone and his addiction was a ticking timebomb, which it was. I dont understand how anybody can be this hard on tritter while ignoring everything house does for his own selfishness. Including forging his friends signature for drugs

I don't. Drug addiction is a medical problem, not a criminal one, regardless of what the BS laws say. The whole antagonism between them started when the cop took out his anger about clinic wait times out on House (who wasn't in control of it), and when he didn't like how House responded to it, decided to trip a cripple by kicking out his cane.
House's addiction does cause problems, sure, but it's the hospital's call as to whether he's fit enough to practice, and frankly, no-one without a medical degree has any buisness telling a chronic pain patient that they shouldn't be taking meds.
The cop needs to stick to crimes that actually have a victim, rather than abusing an unjust law to go after someone for a personal grudge (which actually, should have excluded him from working on any case involving House in the first place).
House is a criminal (technically), an ass, and an addict that needs help, but Tritter is the menace to society.

      What a load...
House is a drugged up sociopath whose addicted to painkillers and only is competent because of it thanks to writer contrivance solely devised to make it so.
He totally has been scarfing down pain pills like meth while actively working at a hospital...and yes that is a criminal crime...becasue you're knowingly putting people's life at danger willingly...
again the only reason house's drugged up nature hasn't caused a death or screwed up too big is because the writers write it that way...
actual addicts in multiple jobs often will eventually self destruct, screw up and suffer from their addictions as it impacts their jobs and lives...
only in fictional tv show can this be not true.
Second House, commits crimes and or beaks the law whenever he feels like it, such as actual forgery, fraud (like when he told a patient and her fiance that she was pregnant by rare self conception, even forging fake documents when she actually cheated, just to win a bet) etc.
Police can actually detect forgery, if Wilson lied under oath and committed perjury he would lose his license and would face nearly 5 years in prison.
House is a sociopath so of course he didn't care about putting Wilson in danger he only wanted to get away from his reckoning so he could keep his painkillers...
ps. house's limp is totally fake and mental, he's not really a cripple, his mind just sees it that way to keep his pills...
as Tritter says, addicts are addicts and they're predicable. That's how he nailed House for scooping up a dead man's prescription for himself...again through fraud and forgery.

I see a few people blaming house for this whole situation/being the bully.
This is a case of circumstances.
1: neither house or tritter knew eachother, tritter didnt know house is the best doctor in diagnostics, so something simple didnt need to be tested. House didnt know tritter was a detective.
2: both house and tritter have huge egos. Gregory house, is literally an anagram for "huge ego, sorry". tritter probably had a huge ego because of how many cases he has solved.
3: tritter instigated this whole situation because he tripped house by kicking his cane, house fueled the situation by using his home field advantage.
4: tritter being a bully with a badge pulls house over because he assumed house had narcotics on him, being able to cause house the problems he did. House knew the judge would have thrown the case out as soon as house gave the judge his medical history and a few testimonies from co workers and patients. Thats why he told wilson it was done and over with when wilson bailed him out.
5: tritter just had to be the one who won so he starts investigating house waiting for him to slip up. Cuddy knew what the whole thing was over and to keep her self image safe she started vicodin blocking house. Instead of just writing him prescriptions until houses court case was over. So house had to forge a prescription for himself, letting tritter get what he needed to not need anyone of houses co workers to testify against him. Which is why cuddy finally lied on the stand and the judge threw out the charge because she knows that house wasnt selling, he was using for his leg pain.
This whole situation would have been avoided if house left the exam room and asked for another doctor for conflict of interest.

The character of Tritter, his quest for revenge, the breakdown of House and his addiction, it's all great.
It's just such a shame the writers took this entire arc and threw it in the trash at the very end for the sake of the status quo. The ending to the Tritter plotline is the reason I originally dropped the series. Felt so insulting and made the whole experience a waste of time.

I mean, House has signed prescription painkillers in Wilson's name for already dead patients. In the real world, House would've at the very least lost his license to practice medicine. Prison time is not out of the question for stealing a controlled substance.
