Yes it works for the most popular lobbies such as TCC and Forza GT but definitely the same does not apply for open class lobbies. You need to approach these lobbies with a completely different mindset, especially in higher classes.

Idk if i should feel shame for it but everytime i qualify high and we head towards corner one, i pausw my game, unpause it so i can ghost and sit in someone else's line and not get taken out 😭

I love how Forza Motorsport may as well just be a FH5 expansion since the online is exactly the same at this point
FH5 is a better racing experience. You don’t have to wait 30 minutes for a fucking race and they at least ghost out the high speed collisions.
I still play fh5 and there are actually a lot of clean racers. Yes there's filthy rammers here and there but they usually suck and aren't hard to pass.

When I was in driving school, they always taught us to not pass dangerous drivers and keep them in front of us so that we can avoid the danger. While this was meant to apply to everyday driving, the same can be said here

I so wish they'd sort out multiplayer replays. The mayhem at every turn one and some of the epic revenge take outs I've see have been pure gold, but they are now sadly lost... like tears in the rain.
It’s so frustrating to me that they haven’t fixed replays yet. Especially compared to GT7s replays. Big part of a racing game.

You already touched on it in the description, but I definitely think this is less of an open vs spec series issue and more of a skill issue when it comes to very high power cars. The majority of forza players simply dont have the skill required to avoid contact when using anything near the top end of R-class and above. However in any case I always find that qualifying is the way to go.
exactly. for the most part it's fools not knowing how braking points work too. it's not gonna be the same behind 5 cars braking before you. and they seem to a "I drive all over the road, good luck everybody else" mindset. it's like nobody cares to watch out for anybody. which penalties should then come into actually punishing players but it doesn't. bravo forza

It looks me the entirety of Forza horizon 5s lifespan to learn to not hit people so when I tried multiplayer it baffles me anyone would touch a game like this without atlwast learning the basics bc i fwlt like an asshole slamming into ppl
@tobyeaterofbark9582 they wouldn't survive playing f1. they would probably need a year with career mode on low difficulty just to understand what's legal or not on the track. I only play on 70 ai which is still a challenge imo. I still use replay but for things like braking way too late/early. I haven't crashed at all though. some ai have tried to squeeze in a pass but definitely had no room and have hit me before but they're pretty smart. they defend their position pretty well, and like in real life verstappen is a beast pretty much on every track.
qualifying is NOT the way to go😂 if ur faster than most ppl in the lobby you’ll fly by them naturally within the first few corners
This is why ive stopped playing forza since 3 days ago. Honestly i was rage quitting 50% of my races and the game feels like a chore to play now, which is a shame because apart from the ramming and penalties it is a great driving experience mostly.
Just sick of spending hours in practice lobbies and qualifying just to get knocked into last place in turn one, and even if you recover there are plenty of races where half the lobby is ramming anyone who is passing, even when moving up to podium which is shocking.
This was meant to be the saving grace for xbox imo and now i think ill be moving on to PS in the coming months.
I have to agree 100 percent. Today may just be my last day, buying a PS5 and moving on

You make a really good point here and one can't argue with seeing the proof with your own eyes. I agree with another popular YT creator who has state multiple times that this could be improved greatly if Forza did not match players into specific lobbies until the end of the practice and qualifying. In other words, what GT7 does. Turn 10 have made some really severe errors in the launch of this game, possibly fatal errors, and this is one of the biggest ones.
That was my main point. If anyone is interested in my further rambling on this problem, here are some things I do:
I accept this is how Forza Motorsport is currently, and it probably will stay that way, since it appears that Microsoft doesn't care about quality, they care about selling consoles and subscriptions.
I figure if I start 5th, get rammed, and restart 18th, it all works out about the same anyway, so I just see it as part of playing the game. It's a game, remember. It's not a racing sim, not even close. It's a game, and there are strategies and attitudes that one takes toward games. Forza Motorsport isn't gambling at a casino in Vegas; it's more like playing a game on your phone to pass the time.
I look at the game overall, what it offers, and place the online multiplayer experience as one of the least valuable parts of the game. Actually the online multiplayer is a negative and subtracts from any consumer value the game has. But whatever value that is, I look for it elsewhere in the game.
I do qualify, because I think that opting out of a problem is reasonable, but it doesn't make any movement toward fixing the problem. If I qualify well, ramming is almost guaranteed. I am extremely considerate of other players during practice, I make a point of always giving room to faster cars, I avoid any pissing matches happening on track, and I take note of the players who are obvious troublemakers. I think that doing those things might cut down, slightly, on the number of times I get taken out by other players.

just saying but he was probably on soft tires, while ISAD was on mediums. ISAD’s were able to last the whole race, but Ste 145 had the grip advantage along w the luck of not getting rammed to win 1st
No he wasn't, he was running his leaderboard car and was stuck on soft tires due to the bug before the hopper change.

Understandable strategy given the current state of things.
I believe one of the reasons for so many crashes is that FM car brakes are too sensitive and easily lock up, so the new Forza people aren't used with that. I am guilty of that too as I have been struggling to find the right brake setup: pressure, etc.

This is why they should focus on offline content and collecting cars in career mode (of course without always online BS), not online multiplayer. This happens in 4 out 5 ranked races too.

Ok that’s it, 1 time off track in qualifying, not in throttle just understeer and .800 penalty! Rammed and no penalties dished out to the dirty bastards and now down from S 4788 to A 4501 today alone!!Done officially with this shit!

Thats what i say all the Time,in a Full Forza open Lobby,never do Qualy if you are aFast driver.You get at least 10 Places in the first 2 corners if you go slow and just watch them die ;)
Well, i will talk for myself and my experience (90% time at GT / 5% touring / 5% randon series when very bored):
1 - doesn't matter the category or rating, after the P5 you i most likely be pinball ball, you will need a lot of luck and be a bit agressive (yes, it means you will need do gentle ham ppl to overtake);
2 - If you want to win races then you need few things at least.
A) Qualify no more than P3;
B) Be sure that your car have great accel at the green flag. some cars do great laps but the start is a pain, you lose 4-5 positions easily and then (you will be throwback to P5+ hell. Thats is exactly what happened to you at kyalami);
C) Prefer cars with the fastest accel possible. For example: i like the new lambo and audi's (both GT spec), they have grea accel, when i do qualy at P2 with lambo and see a P1 with a corvete ou viper, i thank god for it.
D) Be patient, and let the fastest guy behind you go (its a good oportunity to see other drivers line and also when you behind your real pressure is do not hit the guy ahead while following him by less than a car of distance). Most guys at P5 - know they have chance to go podium so they are most likely to not ham ppl bcoz they know if you hit on purpose ppl will hit them back, and yes, ppl are always trying to get better driver rating, wich come from reach the podium at races.

This is why I like GT7’s penalty system where as a bad driver serves a penalty within 1 lap and usually on a straight where it slows you down. This is good as it removes and penalizes bad drivers from the pack they are annoying. By just knocking of time at the end of the race as in Forza it keeps bad, aggressive drivers up front or around the courteous, respectful drivers.
In GT7 when I see an ass clown get an penalty it’s enjoying to watch them disappear in the mirror as they serve it while ghosted.

I had fairly good luck my first few multiplayer matches. Qualified 2nd and 3rd and finished 3rd and 2nd. Got bumped around a little bit not too crazy

I think there should be harsher collision penalties and higher damage in public lobbies maybe people would actually race instead of playing bumper cars.

Im jealous that i cant start any lower than 19th when avoiding qualifying. Ive even tried sitting in the pit (menu) till race start and 16-19 is still the default. I do prefer the lower class races though. You still get carnage just at a way slower pace.

@IsuckAtDriving it seems it's impossible to avoid these kind of drivers no matter how high your rating is smh. 4900s should not have racers like this but ig that's just how the Forza playerbase is. Night and day from the Assetto Corsa Competizione playerbase, there's still such a gap between simcades and sims.

Why does Forza have the worst drivers of any game? This needs to be spoken about desperately. I played ACC and even GT7 and there is no drivers worse than Forza’s SB community! I have bought and paid for every Forza released and the story hasn’t changed. At one point I stopped road racing and only did the drag racing because it was cleaner. It’s like most Forza players don’t under that you’re not supposed to contact the other cars around you, it’s road racing and not bumper cars. Not to mention the penalty system is broken!
I think it's because forza doesn't have a License Test game mode like in Gran Turismo, so a lot of players don't know how to drive
Hello, guys! Is it woth buying this game nowadays? Did they fix some problems present during release? I love FH5 but would like to try something more of an actual simulator with clear racing and penalties which can be run on PC. Would you reccomend this game? And if so, can mobile RTX2060 run it?

I play on Xbox is there a way to get some of your tunes on your cars? If you even sell them. My cars are like 3-5 seconds slower than top 5 on lobbies with 15 or higher.

I don't know how this game works, but wouldn't it be faster to switch to a higher gear to power through a corner in low rpm's instead of letting the car idle through and loosing alot of speed due to the car understeering?
Thats just my personal thoughts though, don't wanna say that you know nothin and i know it all, because i don't.
Using a high gear would make you lose time if you need to shift down since the engine can go below the power band depending on how much speed you lose in the corner. You can blip the throttle to stay in the power band but you might end up under steering. If you look at the Forza analytics during tuning, you see that your car will be using the same amount of horsepower when you control the throttle on a lower gear or when you use a high gear and push the throttle.
@@totallyrealcat4800 hmm ok.. well my thought process was that, since there is no continuous power the car would start breaking out towards the outside and the wheels would start acting as brakes, where as when you have power being aplied it gets pushed into the corner alot more. Atleast thats a phenomenon i noticed in other racing games

i skip qualifying for the same reason. if i start at the end, in 95+% of all races, i will be able to clear at least 5 and often more places after the first 3 corners and without broken penalty 😅

Pretty much everyone sends it on the first turn trying to be first it’s horrible. I stop qualifying I start dead last and wait for the carnage to clear I’m not fast but I end up anywhere around 5-10 place😅
