Took the guided tour April 2019 and was not shown the hospital wing or the death row. BUMMED

I have lots of family up in Philly! I have seen the outside of this huge Castle penitentiary. I hope to revisit and have the tour!
My mother’s brother incarcerated here in the ‘40’s until the Army wanted him for duty. He participated in the Battle of the Bulge and was given a pardon after the war. He was a model citizen for the rest of his days,

They actually called up prisoners for the war back then! They must have been desperate!
Just got home, travelled from the New York City area to experience terror behind the walls. As a haunted house, I wasn’t impressed, but as a prison, it was downright terrifying. I did 12 years in Florida, so I looked at the place with a different eye, and I can’t even imagine how these guys lasted one week here. As a society we have actually come a long way, if our prison systems are any indication.

Apparently it was a castle before it was a prison so they lied a out the actual construction year of it
It was built to look like a castle, but it was always a prison, or in this case, a penitentiary. People went crazy in there because of the constant isolation.
Went to school across the street for 6 years (22 and Brown St's.) Walked by it 4 times a day 1950 1956. Haunted?? I guess we are talking about someone who was imprisoned there and died there. Why would someone who died in/at such a horrible place hang around after they died? Makes no sense at all. I'm willing to spend the night there, provided I can have my 357 on my hip. It's the living we have to be concerned with, not the dead.
They don't all get a choice to move on especially if they died suddenly like the guard who was killed in the day yard wasn't expecting it so he could easily be trapped there. Watch the million shows on ESP and see all the evidence
