Yes, I've been out twice since November. My gear is gathering dust. But my biggest reason for possibly doing Telescope Live is the opportunity to play with data from the Southern Hemisphere. Up in North America, I will never have the opportunity to image targets like the Carina Nebula, the Large or Small Magellanic Clouds, or the Statue of Liberty Nebula. Thanks for the discount and I'll check it out.

Tx! I'll be sharing some processed images on my community tab so you can check out what to expect.

Interesting concept to consider if you are plagued by clouds all the time. If I remember correctly, Nico Carver had a video a few years ago about downloading Hubble data (at various wavelengths and for many targets). The data could be combined and processed in PI or photoshop. That could be another option too. The data is free and there are no clouds or satellites in the data! Dr B from Manitoba, Canada 🇨🇦

I just...I don't know how I feel about this. I'll admit, during a cloudy night, I felt quite weak and searched for remote telescopes and found this place, but the only "reasonable" prices seemed to be the data that was already acquired. Looking at what you just had, it seemed 1 hour of data was 44 credits, which is pretty much all the credits for the 59 dollars a month plan...seems crazy expensive to me. I guess if you've got the money to spend like that go for it, but I suppose I'll just wait for clear skies. But I must admit, I am considering doing the already acquired data for southern hemisphere targets that I'll likely never get a chance at.

the RAW data bundles are only a couple of credits - buying imaging time is more expensive indeed. We didn't have clear skies in the netherlands since February, not a single night. I'm desperate :-)!

@@AstroForumSpace I completely understand. If it had been months I'd be all over this.

I think I will have to take the "ignorance is bliss" approach on this one. What if I start renting a superior astrorig and get awesome results, how will I feel about my present rig after? It will probably look like crap in comparison. As you said, nothing compares to work your own equipment and make the most out of it. But thank you Wido for educating us about the possibilities that exist out there regarding renting telescope-time.

After downloading a few bundles, I can state with certainty that the RAW images are not perfect. They also suffer from satellite streaks, clouds etc. But the image scale of the larger RC telescopes is impressive, ideal for distant galaxies. And being able to process pictures taken from the southern hemisphere is special for me. I didn't have a single clear night since February in The Netherlands, I'm desperate.

@@AstroForumSpace Well capturing those small galaxies is a good point. Now that we are in galaxy season I've imaged a bunch and I really wish I had more reach. Here in Norway we have only 2 hours or so of astronomical darkness and that is running out fast. I wont be able to image again until October.
