  • I do my best to revive an old tiller that was sitting in my barn for 10 years. The previous owner was going to throw it away. I wanted to give it a try. Let's see if this old Craftsman rear tine tiller will run!

I got the same tiller, sat ten years also. Changed oil, started right up. You can't find stuff like that today!

1994-ish. I have a 1991 and they were still gray with Briggs Industrial engines. Great machines!

Thanks for the videos Adam. It's enjoyable to see what projects you all get into on your property.

It's always so much fun working and something that's been setting or some one throws away and getting it running and working again. It's kinda like my hobby . I keep and eye on the local dumpster area and if people set the stuff on the ground a person is allowed to take it. And believe me you . I do . It's like Christmas morning every time I get something to tinker with. Glad you got him going sir and thank you for sharing

My 94 year old dad mjght just have the same SEARS Craftsman tiller in his pole barn. I have no idea when the last time he ran it & he doesn't remember. I now take care of my elderly parents, including their finances & property. I need to do some tiling/cultivating on his property. I'm not mechanical, so my question may be a dumb one. Why did you change oil, before you even tried starting it? I understand why you wouldn't do any tiling/cultivating, until you changed the oil. I was just going to add some fuel, blow the dirt out of the air filter & then try starting my dad's old tiller, hoping I got lucky (lol). Then I'd change sparkplugs, if I had no luck. Can I mess up the motor with old dirty oil from just trying to start it? Thanks for your time & any suggestions you have for me... 🙂
