- Today I do a Benchmark on Minecraft with 4GB RAM, 8GB RAM and 16GB of RAM. I also include Chocapic13 Shaders on MAX Settings! The results were very minimal because Minecraft doesn't need much RAM to operate, unless you have LOTS of mods.
(My RAM is DDR4 @2400Mhz)

I dont believe the game will even run....
not possible i found an old computer of mind i had it in 2007-14 and i turned it from windows Xp to windows 7 and downloaded minecraft on it (it has a 1gb ram) the game crashed before even turning on.
My 1gb pc gets 230 max on low settings but it drops to 1 a lot
The screen would show nothing and you would have a broken RAM stick in your PC

I’m really late but for all folks here saying they have a great gpu remember Minecraft is still CPU intensive, not completely optimized for full gpu use yet :)
Agreed. I went from a GTA 1060 3GB to 6GB and found no difference, then went to an RTX 2070 Super and have very minor to unnoticeable performance gain in vanilla
The Aussie Gamer yeah, only difference is that maybe with ray tracing coming out from Nvidia and Mojang working together it will start becoming more gpu intensive, I’d like to put my gtx 1080 to use even if I can’t ray trace lol

@@julian_grendel5751 Hey, they said that your processor does matter more than you graphic card, when you're playing Minecraft. That "RayTracing" thing is just a new technology wich can give you better graphics, but it requires a good graphic card. That's it.
I was going to buy a 8 gb ram laptop with high gpu and i watched this and im so happy that 8gb ram is really good its getting to 80 fps with shaders 😇😊
Well its not all ram it has to have a good apu as well so processer and gpu must be solid
keep in mind that his fps is while recording but also its in a world where there isnt much going on, if you have a lot of entities around your base, or a lot of particles ( from example a fireplace with smoke) your fps will fluctuate a lot, i have a laptop with a 1050ti 4gb and 8gb of ram and if i wanna play decent in my world where i have lots of stuff going on, and with shaders i need to use 6gb or ram so i can get a constant 70-80 fps on my base but that is with an enhanced default shader which is less demanding that the one he used.

Just to clarify, as long as you have allocated enough memory to your game, adding more will not improve performance. What DOES improve performance is your RAM speed. In this test, he is running DDR4 2400Mhz RAM. In some cases, running faster RAM (say, 3000 or 3200 Mhz for example) will improve frame times.
You are correct. RAM capacity is only really useful for mods in games like Minecraft.
@@illzzu basically ram is used for loading textures and particles etc. and as you guys are saying it’s the speed that it can render the textures and particles as well and the mods.
Yes, ie. if you have a 200+ mods modpack, they usually use up 2-5 GB RAM, if you already had 4-5GB allocated from 8 GB, you might run into OutOfMemory crashes. If you have more than 8 GB, using modpacks even bigger than 200+ shouldn't be a problem. There is always a limit, though.
I have 8GB in the JVM argument i have about 78 mods in minecraft and just from joining the game allocated % goes to 60% instantly eventually as i keep playing it will hit 100% right so then what do you recommend doing get more ram ?? Like 32GB or RAM speed increase?
@@pol-ek3yq no you decrease your ram, I used to have 8gb of ram and was able to run Minecraft with 78 mods with breeze..
It’s either your cpu not usually your gpu, ram doesn’t always play a big role in Minecraft most mod packs support between 2-8gb of ram mods with 200+ needs at least 8-16gb of ram usually.. if your Minecraft runs like as with small mods then it’s usually your cpu.

I have a mackbook air as well and when I run the chocapic shader I only get 15

Trust me I've played with a laptop for 3 years, it'll only make you love pcs more. Got an 8 year old pc a few months back and it can actually run 6 chunks at 60 FPS!!!

Probably get a Ryzen 5 2600, A320 Motherboard, 16GB 3000Mhz RAM & GTX 1650 Super and you should get great performance no matter what use.

Please do some benchmarks on Modpacks, with and without Sphax textures and maybe some vanilla benches with Sphax textures from 16x16 to 512x512. Just a thought.

Hey man, I need help bad. Been playing minecraft a lot lately on Xbox. Getting a new laptop soon. It’s a Dell Xps 15 with 8 GB Ram and a GTX 1050. Would this be able to run shaders and other mods like crazy craft etc? Thanks.
It won't run High End Shaders but it'll run well with mods and a recourse pack

I'd recommend using 'SFLP Lite' because it gives the game a much more appealing look while not being too detrimental to performance

16GB ram is only required when you have extreme volumetric lighting shader + 2048x resource pack and want to play the game at 30 chunks

Vanilla Minecraft just requires 4-8, modded with shaders requires more mixed with a good graphics card and CPU.

Liam Papz Graphics cards dont deal with performance thats mainly CPU, as minecraft is more heavy on CPU than it is GPU

RAM is mostly for mods in MC, especially good to have 16 GB of it when you play a modpack w/ 200 mods. I have 8 GB RAM and my RAM usage is always @ 99%

So now I know that RAM doesn't really affect FPS
Not really. RAM affects FPS too. Especially if you are comparing single channel ram (only 1 ram stick) to dual channel (2 ram sticks) or even quad channel (4 ram sticks).
Comparing 4GBx2 (8gb) vs 8GBx1 (8gb) shows a big difference in terms of performance. Especially with iGPUs since having more ram channels than 1 will greatly improve performance.
Having more channels "helps" the CPU access the needed "things" faster because not just 1 ram stick is doing all the storing of temporary files and two channels are a lot faster than just 1 stick.

Should run fine, but don't max out all the settings because then you'll get more lag
Also a fast internet speed is recommended to keep FPS as optimal as possible

You can see 40-60FPS on Mixed Settings. Probably well over 100FPS on Minimum Settings

You can run very simple shaders (like Waving Plants V3.5) which as the name says, makes waving plants.

Technically it will run slower if you have 4 gigabytes maxed because you have 16 gigs so it takes out a little bit of memory. However if you’d have 4 gigs solid it would take up more memory and that leads to crashing.

You can get around 300+ FPS on Low/Medium Settings.
What's your GPU? That'll make a big difference

Demanding shaders use more GPU, A 1050TI will run shaders like Chocapic13 on medium settings very well. SEUS Shaders would not be reccomended on those specs unless you turn down most settings

What's the CPU though? That A12 is extremely weak, it bottlenecks every other part in the system
It'll run very well since is an APU. mostly with 100-300 fps like Pikartz said.

Go with the I7 option, we've got one with those specs in our household and it rocks 😁
You probably wouldn't get 60 FPS with shaders if you aren't using a GPU but you should get quite a bit over 60 without. Although I've never owned either of those CPU so maybe don't trust my comment.

It should run Minecraft at 60 FPS, but I'd recommend installing Optifine, turning down some Settings, dedicating 2GB RAM (As seen in this video) and you should be good!

Most likely, a 4gb laptop won't have even similar cpu gpu specs as what is shown. This means that just because he used 4gb in the video and got 200fps, you probably won't get that much.
