The one video where you could have brought back the 750Ti and you blew it.
maxwell cards are bad. Use either the refined 900 series maxwell cards or go back to Kepler. the 660Ti is a good option for a budget builder.
@edmunds tomsons you are correct but the 750ti came out later with the first iteration of maxwell
@edmunds tomsons Nope. the 750 and 750 Ti were the only 700 series cards to be on maxwell, as the 750 and 750 Ti came out a year after the 780 roughly, and a few months before the 900 series. Also note, that some of the GT 700 series runs on Fermi based GPU's still, while having their kepler DDR3 and GDDR5 variant.

This should be a series called "Recommended system requirements"
I remember when they recommended a core 2 duo and had the Pentium 4 as minimum, tho the Pentium 4 is absolutely terrible for Minecraft especially if it lacks HT.
I used to play Minecraft in 2012 with a Pentium 4 3ghz, a GeForce 6800, and 2 gigs of RAM.
25fps with the lowest possible settings
@@IanThatMetalBassist a similar config with a Athlon 64 X2 runs 1.7 pretty well. Even 1.14 runs if some settings are on in the performance tab under optifine.
@ItsLucan definitely, the jump to 1.12 brought older CPUs to their knees.
back in 2011 minecraft entirely used opengl 1.5 which was just some fixed function pipeline with no programmable stuff like shaders which almost every modern game already used at that point. it could run on ancient nvidia/ATI chips from around 2002 onwards, albeit very slow. I remember running beta 1.7 on some absolute garbage laptop with a GMA 950 chip, got that cinematic 20 fps!!

The raytracing from the RTX makes Minecraft look almost realistic (in a blocky kind of way...)
You absolutely don't need nVidia RTX to have raytraced effects in Minecraft. Shaders (such as the one in the video) have nothing to do with RTX.
Absolutely not,it seems like the game is maked of steel

The recommendations really have gone up over the years.
I remember when changing from a 3.6 GHz Pentium 4 to a 2 GHz Core 2 Duo was the difference between unplayable and pretty fluid. And when a lighter preset of the shader could be run on a HD 4870 pretty decently.

Try installing a full modpack such as FeedTheBeast and then see how it runs on that computer. I would be very interested in seeing how it holds up. Some of these modpacks can up the CPU load massively.

What about your 1070?
Dude i have i7 2600 and still doing a pretty good job. You should get a better cooling solution and overclock it to 4.7GHz so your cpu could potentialy last to this year
I don't think the cpu will make it when games start being optimized for the extra threads on the new consoles
@@herroberbesserwisser7331 I consider the GPU to be more of an accelerator/peripheral since it can outlive and/or be exchanged over platforms. Motherboard, memory and CPU on the other hand is what makes out the core of the computer.
@@samohraje2433 the issue for me is not the cooling. It's the VRM. It's a mini-itx motherboard. And due to the massively increased power requirement I can't go above 4.1... 4.2GHz boots but is not stable in the long run, I probably require some sort of active cooling on the VRM. And then again, perhaps it's not good to push the motherboard in that way.

What sort of graphics card would you reccomend to stop the random brief drop in frames when I set my render distance over 16 chunks? My other PC specs are 8 gigs of ram and an Intel I7 cpu.
I have been playing Minecraft (3 years ago) with a Pentium G4400 (Skylake) with the integrated graphics and the render distance was max 12 chunks for some 60-ish FPS.
2x4GB 2133MHz RAM was used.
I want to see a recommended build for running Half Life 3.
probably a 1080 or 2080ti build XD
The windows 10 app version works better from what i know of with lower specs. My old laptop gets 30 FPS with the java edition and around 60 with app.
If you want even better for minecraft java install linux as a dual boot
How come my i5 8800 + GTX 1060 doesn’t work as well as this with shaders and why can’t I use 32 chunks without more than 40 FPS??? I have to use 16 chunks for a consistent 100-200 FPS, but other games work fine for me on higher/highest settings
I've been running a i5-3570k overclocked to 4.6ghz and never ran into an issue running high 60fps with my recent upgrade of a 1060. I was running a 7870 overclocked a bit and was able to get 60 low/medium on triple a titles. With a bit of tweaking old hardware can preform well .
